This. This about Bob.

Zane: [Busting into the Sheriff's office] Jo? I need a gun. A big, powerful gun.
Jo: [Standing up and grinning like a lunatic] I've been waiting for someone to say that to me my whole life.

Carter and Allison search for a missing man in a bio-dome while Eva Thorne makes changes in town in the name of balance and efficiency.

Tropes

  • The Casanova: Bob Knob, who has worked his way through the entire female population of Lab 27 and is lured away from Allison with the one, much younger holdout.
  • Chekhov's Gun:
    • The projection system which allows Henry to appear hologramatically to help Carter and Allison in Lab 27. The same technology is used when Carter uses Teri as bait to lure Bob without putting her in harm's way.
    • The Eureka Museum, which Jo has never heard of and which Eva Thorne wants to shut down. At the end, Thorne is seen surrounded by boxes marked as the museum's property, watching old footage of nuclear explosions.
  • Central Theme: Tampering with the balance of nature has unforeseen and deadly consequences.
    • Derek interfered with Lab 27's artificial sunlight in order to disrupt his love rival, causing not just him but the whole population of the lab to start mutating.
    • Eva Thorne is warned that she's disrupting Eureka's systems with her extreme costcutting measures. Thankfully, she listens.
  • Damsel in Distress: Allison is abducted by Bob.
  • Fan Disservice: Lampshaded as Carter and Allison strip off for decontamination.
Allison: Not the way I'd ever pictured us winding up naked.
Carter: You pictured us winding up naked?
    Allison: No.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: While Jack and Allison explore Lab 27, the citizens of Eureka watch as if it were a reality show. Some of their comments seem to be talking about the show itself.
  • Meaningful Name: "Knob" is British slang for "penis." Bob Knob Really Gets Around.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Jack and Allison have an extremely embarrassing moment, standing nakedly back to back as they're decontaminated prior to entering Lab 27.
  • Pet the Dog: After Jo tells her she's disrupting the "ecosystem" of Eureka with her aggressive downsizing measures, Eva Thorne undoes some of the more extreme measures and has Henry pardoned.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Uncomfortable Elevator Moment: Between Carter and Allison as they travel to Lab 27, the first time they've been alone together since Allison got engaged to Stark. Which Carter is totally fine with.
  • Water Source Tampering: An unintentional example. Derek, who was in love with Teri, altered the artificial sunlight in Lab 27 to make Bob sick and prevent him hitting on her. Unfortunately, the tampering infected the water supply and caused everyone to mutate, but Bob most of all.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Carter is not happy that Allison came to Lab 27 to keep an eye on him, in case of an incident that puts him in the crosshairs of Thorne's downsizing.
