Gala Dragalia: Beast Ciella, Emile

The party works toward preventing the revival of the Progenitor. In an effort to do so, they try convincing Beren to switch sides.

This chapter contains examples of:

  • Big Damn Heroes: Right when it looks like the party is doomed, Emile and the Dyrenell Empire arrive to save them.
  • Fighting from the Inside: Turns out the Phares isn't actually dead as he briefly takes control of his body back from the Progenitor to tell the party and Beren to kill him and block off the Progenitor's entry.
  • Given Name Reveal: The Progenitor's name is revealed as Xenos.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: When Euden prepares to head out and help people after having been beaten by Xenos, Emile rightly chews him out that such an action would only end in a Senseless Sacrifice. Even Chelle and Valyx agree with Emile.
  • No-Sell: No matter what attacks are thrown at Xenos, from combination attacks to even two Bahamuts blasting them, they rewind time so their injuries never happened. Phares tells Euden that even if they were chopped to pieces, causality is locked so that only outcome is their continued existence.
  • Redemption Rejection: The party attempts to talk Beren out of working with the Progenitor, telling him that he is seen as nothing more than a tool by the Progenitor. Beren doesn't care and just revives the Progenitor out of spite.
  • The Worf Effect: Zethia and Nedrick, who are both pacted with Bahamut, are unable to put a dent in Xenos.
  • You Are Not Alone: Euden attempts this in order to get Beren to switch sides. Unlike with Nedrick in the previous chapter, it doesn't work as Beren realizes he doesn't want to form bonds.
  • You Can't Thwart Stage One: Despite the party's efforts, part one ends with Beren releasing the Progenitor into the world.
