Inside a hideout of the Hubbatt Corsairs, the group have a tense negotiation with frontman Yash Mangal. After offering information on their loved ones as collateral, they learn that Duggar used to be a Corsair, but after a few weeks' absence six months ago, his condition started to worsen and he resigned shortly after. Yash gives them Duggar's address and permission to deal with him as they see fit.

Seeking to prepare themselves for the coming confrontation, the group makes purchases from Advik, a shady merchant acquainted with Ashton, who seems uncomfortable in his presence. Afterwards, he admits to the others that he sometimes has trouble remembering his standing with the city's various inhabitants.

The group breaks into Duggar's home, a ransacked domicile pervaded by the stench of decay. Investigation reveals two holes in the wall, similar to the one in the Weary Way Inn. Fearne heads down one of them in rat form, but is soon chased out by none other than Duggar himself, whose form oozes out of the confined space.

The rematch against Duggar is as challenging as the first encounter. Movement is difficult thanks to a white, oily goo produced by the dwarf, and mutated shade crepers keep coming out of the holes and even Duggar himself. However, the group exhibits some fine teamwork, combining their skills to impressive effect. Dorian's Thunderwave finishes Duggar off, and he explodes like his shade creeper children.

The group seal the holes, dispatch the remaining shade creepers, and collect some of the white goo. They report to Lord Eshteross, who sends the strange substance to an alchemist for analysis and rewards them with the bounty for Bertrand's killer . Their vengeance fulfilled, our exhausted heroes venture into the streets for a well-deserved evening of celebration...
