Critical Role is a weekly Dungeons & Dragons stream starring a cast of well-known voice actors. The series began airing on Geek & Sundry's Twitch channel in 2015. Remember, recap pages are Spoilers Off.

This recap page is a work-in-progress and follows the chapter designations put forth by the Critical Role wiki, which have since been canonized by Alpha.

Campaign 1: Vox Machina (2015-2017)

Arc 1: Kraghammer and Vasselheim

Picking up where the home game left off, Lady Allura asks Vox Machina to find her friend, Lady Kima, who disappeared into the mines of Kraghammer upon learning of a great evil resting beneath it during a vision quest. Upon completing their quest, trouble with the law in Vasselheim splits the party into two separate groups as they attempt to make amends, and during their stay, they encounter new friends, new enemies, and new revelations before eventually returning home.Guest Star Party Members: Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Felicia Day, Will Friedle and Wil Wheaton.

1. "Arrival at Kraghammer" (March 12, 2015) ^note Our story begins as Vox Machina, the heroes of Emon, arrive at the cavernous underground city of Kraghammer.
2. "Into the Greyspire Mines" (March 19, 2015) ^note After Scanlan Shorthalt brought the abomination of a Naga to it’s tortured end, the Vox Machina vowed to Nostoc Greyspine to put an end to the darkness now bubbling up out of the bowls of the earth.
3. "Strange Bedfellows" (March 26, 2015) ^note With Grog’s mind now silenced, the twins fall upon the last surviving Duergar.
4. "Attack on the Duergar Warcamp" (April 2, 2015) ^note Vox Machina form a tentative alliance with an Illithid outcast named Clarota, deep inside the caverns under Kraghammer.
5. "The Trick about Falling" (April 9, 2015) ^note Having successfully slain a dangerous Illithid and its dwarven general, the Vox Machina find themselves surrounded by a small army of Duergar.
6. "Breaching the Emberhold" (April 16, 2015) ^note The party continues to wind its way ever downward, far below Kraghammer.
7. "The Throne Room" (April 23, 2015) ^note With an uneasy agreement struck between Kima and Clarota, Vox Machina quietly begin a search of Emberhold.
8. 'Glass and Bone' (April 30, 2015) ^note Vox Machina struggles to survive after their battle with the Duergar King and Queen, our heroes broken and battered.
9. 'Yug'Voril Uncovered' (May 7, 2015) ^note The team overtakes the Duergar Queen, before Ulara is able to make a thrall of Grog.
10. 'K'Varn Revealed' (May 14, 2015) ^note The team jumps right into a fight with some undead. Vax’ildan ends up surrounded and takes a few hits getting paralyzed before the team can jump to his aid, but the fight is over almost before it begins once Tiberius gets involved.
11. 'The Temple Showdown' (May 21, 2015) ^note This time around, Vox Machina finds themselves in dire straits. We pick up where we last left off, with the adventurers about to take on a giant of some sort they stumbled upon while scouting.

13. 'Escape from the Underdark' (June 4, 2015) ^note With K’Varn killed, and the dread god Orcus’ machinations put to an end, the party struggles with what to do next.
14. 'Shopping and Shipping' (June 11, 2015) ^note After allowing themselves a single night’s rest back in the city of Emon, Vox Machina sets out for their meeting with the Sovereign Uriel and the Council of Tal’Dorei.
15. 'Skyward' (June 25, 2015) ^note The party finishes their necessary purchases within the city of Emon in preparation for their journey.
16. 'Enter Vasselheim' (July 2, 2015) ^note As Vox Machina completes their journey across the Ozmit Sea, Tiberius and Scanlan engage in a strange math workshop until Kima arrives and prepares the group for the culture shock awaiting them in Othanzia's capital city of Vasselheim.
17. 'Hubris' (July 23, 2015) ^note Parting ways with their beloved cleric, Vox Machina is now adrift in a strange and unfamiliar city.
18. 'Trial of the Take, part 1' (July 30, 2015) ^note With the party now split, Scanlan, Percy, Vex, and Grog find themselves teaming up with an unlikely duo. Putting differences aside, the forced fellowship heads out into the frost-harried north of the Vesper Timberland.
19. 'Trial of the Take, part 2' (August 6, 2015) ^note Our unlikely collection of travelers press forward into to the frozen, hoary wilds of the Vesper Timberland, closing the last few miles between themselves and their prey.
20. 'Trial of the Take, part 3' (August 13, 2015) ^note Like their companions before them, Keyleth, Vax, and Tiberius make their way to The Slayer's Take. Arriving shortly after their friends' departure for the Vesper Timberlands, the trio are introduced to the rest of their own hunting party.

23. 'The Rematch' (September 10, 2015) ^note As Vox Machina prepares for their return to Emon, Grog demands a rematch against Kern to regain his honor.

Arc 2: The Briarwoods

A mysterious couple known as the Briarwoods arrive in Emon for a formal feast. Knowing that they were responsible for the deaths of his family, Percy decides it's time to achieve his vengeance. Following his lead, Vox Machina is accused of destructive behavior and kicked off the Tal'Dorei Council. Now they need to clear their names, but the cost might be Percy's soul.

25. 'The Feast' (September 17, 2015) ^note Percy reveals the full tale of his blood feud with the Briarwoods, leaving Vox Machina just one week to prepare.
26. 'Crimson Diplomacy' (September 24, 2015) ^note Vax finds himself alone in the clutches of the villainous Briarwoods! While the team rushes in to save him, they are joined by a mysterious tiefling named Lilith, a powerful wizard who is on the run from vicious bounty hunters. (Guest Kit Buss.)
27. 'Consequences and Cows' (October 1, 2015) ^note Reeling from the aftermath of their battle against the Briarwoods, Vox Machina is called before Sovereign Uriel to answer for their recent destructive behavior.
28. 'The Path to Whitestone' (October 8, 2015) ^note Greyskull keep is infiltrated by ghostly attackers as Vox Machina prepares to make their way Northeast to Whitestone to confront the Briarwoods head on.
29. 'The Sun Tree' (October 15, 2015) ^note Vox Machina sneaks their way into the town of Whitestone with the intent of inspiring revolution, but could not be prepared for the horrors that await them inside.
30. 'Whispers' (October 22, 2015) ^note Vox Machina begin their campaign to sow the seeds of rebellion amongst the people of Whitestone. The cruel Sir Kerrion Stonefell is the first target on their list, but will the attack against him unleash a darker power?
31. 'Stoke the Flames' (October 29, 2015) ^note The seeds of rebellion begin to take root in Whitestone! But as Vox Machina make their move to bring the population to revolt, they learn that another de Rolo may still be alive.
32. 'Gunpowder Plot' (November 5, 2015) ^note Scanlan finds himself alone, caught in a Briarwood trap! Meanwhile, the party fuels the fire of rebellion, but will the price the town of Whitestone pays be too high? The revolution has begun, and nothing can stop it now.
33. 'Against the Tide of Bone' (November 12, 2015) ^note Vox Machina are exhausted, facing an undead army, and preparing to storm Whitestone Castle! Thankfully they’re about to get some help from an old friend.
34. 'Reunions' (November 19, 2015) ^note Vox Machina make their way through Whitestone Castle, lead by a new, unlikely ally, in hopes of rescuing Cassandra de Rolo. Battles commence, debts are settled, and secrets revealed as the group descends into the haunted catacombs.
35. 'Race to the Ziggurat' (December 3, 2015) ^note Vox Machina vs. The Briarwoods: Who will survive? And what terrible secret waits for our heroes beneath Whitestone.
36. 'Denouement' (December 10, 2015) ^note Vox Machina fights for Percy’s soul as the Whitestone rebellion comes to a head! All this plus berets, tree hugging and… ships?
37. 'Winter's Crest in Whitestone' (December 17, 2015) ^note It's time for the Winter's Crest festival in Whitestone! Contests, prizes, and revelry abound as we wrap up our year with a nice bow.
38. 'A Musician's Nostalgia' (January 7, 2016) ^note Vox Machina return to Emon to prove their innocence. Now on the hunt for the treacherous Riskel Daxio, they must once again face the Clasp, along with some shady characters from Scanlan’s past.
39. 'Echoes of the Past' (January 14, 2016) ^note Vox Machina take some well earned downtime! Scanlan continues his dance with the mysterious gnome girl, and the group agrees to venture back to a mysterious cavern they had abandoned years before.

Arc 3: The Chroma Conclave

As Sovereign Uriel Tal'Dorei II announces his abdication, four dragons calling themselves the Chroma Conclave attack the city of Emon. After saving whomever they can and resettling them in Whitestone, the members of Vox Machina rally their allies to kill the dragons and take back their home and gather the power of the Vestiges of the Divergence. One member of the Chroma Conclave, Raishan, proposes an alliance with Vox Machina to take down the leader, Thordak. Although the party does not trust her, the dragon's strength and knowledge would be a great asset to them. As Thordak swells with madness and power from his position within Emon, time is running out until the final confrontation with the Cinder King.

39. Omens (January 21, 2016) ^note Vox Machina fight their way out of the late General Krieg's house. Sovereign Uriel announces a substantial change to the leadership of Tal'Dorei.
40. Desperate Measures (January 28, 2016) ^note Vox Machina struggle to defend Greyskull Keep as Emon lies devastated after an attack by the Chroma Conclave, a quartet of ancient chromatic dragons.
41. In Ruins (February 4, 2016) ^note To safeguard the survivors of the Chroma Conclave's attack, Vox Machina return to Emon in secret and learn the fate of their allies.(Guest Jason Charles Miller.)
42. Dangerous Dealings (February 11, 2016) ^note Vox Machina organise an evacuation to Whitestone and forge an alliance with the Clasp, a dangerous thieves' guild.
43. Return to Vasselheim (February 18, 2016) ^note Having returned to the holy city of Vasselheim, Vox Machina reunite with Kashaw and Zahra (special guests Will Friedle and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn), and learn of powerful magical artifacts which may help them battle the Chroma Conclave.
44. The Sunken Tomb (March 10, 2016) ^note Vox Machina descend into the submerged, watery tomb of a Champion of the Raven Queen to retrieve the first of the Vestiges of Divergence (with special guests Will Friedle and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn).

49. A Name is Earned (April 14, 2016) ^note Vox Machina face the challenges of an androsphynx to learn what it knows of the Vestiges of Divergence.
50. Best Laid Plans... (April 21, 2016) ^note Grog reaches an impasse in his relationship with Craven Edge, his accursed weapon. Vox Machina makes plans to liberate Westrunn from the goliath horde.
51. Test of Pride (April 28, 2016) ^note Having learned that Kaylie and Dr. Dranzel are trapped in the city, Scanlan uses all his wits to keep them alive. Grog tries a direct tactic to free Westrunn from the goliaths.
52. The Kill Box (May 5, 2016) ^note Vox Machina take on the occupying goliaths, and Grog has his final showdown with Kevdak.
53. At Dawn, We Plan! (May 12, 2016) ^note With Westrunn liberated, Vox Machina must decide how to secure the city and whether they're ready to take a member of the Chroma Conclave.
54. In the Belly of the Beast (May 19, 2016) ^note Aided by the remnants of the goliath hoard, Vox Machina sets a cunning trap for the ancient black dragon Umbrasyl.

59. Into the Feywild (July 7, 2016) ^note To find the next Vestige, Vox Machina make their way into the Feywild, a plane of wild magic and rampant nature, where even the most innocent thing can be deadly.
60. Heredity and Hats (July 14, 2016) ^note To fulfill their bargain with Garmelie the satyr, Vox Machina enter the city of Syngorn and confront Syldor Vessar, the twins' father.
61. Denizens of the Moonbrush (July 28, 2016) ^note Vox Machina are caught up in a conflict between a tribe of lycanthropes and a band of violent pixies, and must choose a side before they can continue their journey.
62. Uninviting Waters (August 6, 2016) ^note With reluctant help from Garmelie, Vox Machina brave the unforgiving terrain that surrounds the Shademirk Bog and draw closer to their goal.
63. The Echo Tree (August 11, 2016) ^note The fate of a Vestige and much of the Feywild hangs in the balance as Vox Machina battle the powerful fey creature that lurks in the heart of the Shademirk Bog.

69. Passed Through Fire (September 29, 2016) ^note Before Percy can be returned from the dead, his soul must be rested free from its captor. Vax begins a rehabilitation. And an unlikely creature offers Vox Machina an alliance.

82. Deadly Echoes (January 19, 2017) ^note Vox Machina, along with Kerrek (special guest Patrick Rothfuss), pursue Raishan to her island lair but face a number of cunning defences.
83. The Deceiver's Stand (January 26, 2017) ^note Vox Machina vs. the Diseased Deciever, as the last of the Chroma Conclave makes her stand.

Arc 4: Taryon Darrington

Having taken care of the major threat facing Tal'Dorei and quickly making a new acquaintance, Vox Machina sets out to tie up some loose ends, including the final leg of Keyleth's Aramenté and the ever-present threat of Hotis' return.

84. Loose Ends (February 2, 2017) ^note Vox Machina deals with the fallout of the final battle with Raishan, with Exandria finally at peace.
85. A Bard's Lament (February 9, 2017) ^note Grog shows Earthbreaker Groon what he has learned since their last meeting, Scanlan awakens from his slumber, and Vox Machina meets a new acquaintance in Ank'harel.
86. Daring Days (February 16, 2017) ^note Vox Machina gets to know their new friend Taryon before moving onto the next leg of their journey.
87. Onward to Vesrah (February 23, 2017) ^note Vox Machina set sail across the Ozmit Sea towards the final leg of Keyleth's Aramenté.
88. Tangled Depths (March 2, 2017) ^note Vox Machina descends into the watery depths to complete Keyleth's final trial.
89. Curious Tides (March 9, 2017) ^note After narrowly retrieving the lodestones from the Elemental Plane of Water, Vox Machina scrambles to save the life of one of their own as Keyleth's Aramenté trials come to a close.
90. Voice of the Tempest (March 16, 2017) ^note Vox Machina travels to Zephrah to witness the coronation of a new leader of the Air Ashari: Keyleth herself.
91. Vox Machina Go to Hell (March 23, 2017) ^note Vox Machina travels to the Iron City of Dis in the Nine Hells to kill Hotis before he can return.
92. Deals in the Dark (March 30, 2017) ^note Percy makes a literal deal with a devil in order to aid the party's mission of killing Hotis. To that end, they rescue an unlikely ally named Tova (special guest ND Stevenson) who decides to aid them in their endeavor.
93. Bats Out of Hell (April 6, 2017) ^note Vox Machina does battle with another pit fiend and intentionally get arrested and sent to the prison of Mentiri, where Hotis can be found. They then enact a daring plan to kill him and escape.
94. Jugs and Rods (April 13, 2017) ^note Vox Machina returns to Whitestone, reunites with Pike, and Taryon tries to experiment. Meanwhile, Vex attempts to earn her title and place in her new home.
95. One Year Later... (April 27, 2017) ^note A year of peace follows as Vox Machina reunites and gets into mischief before meeting up with some rather shady gnomes...
96. Family Matters (May 4, 2017) ^note Vox Machina and the Trickfoots work together to aid Pike in ridding herself of a family curse.
97. Taryon, My Wayward Son (May 11, 2017) ^note Keyleth goes off the deep end and Taryon is forcibly taken back to his hometown as Vox Machina travels to Wildemount to save him.
98. The Mines of the Many (May 18, 2017) ^note Vox Machina strike a deal with the Myriad in order to save the Darringtons from their obscene debt.
99. Masquerade (June 1, 2017) ^note Taryon comes into his own as he proposes to his family the future that lies in store for them as Vox Machina is greeted by a rather kooky half-orc (special guest Jon Heder) and his boss who may be more than he seems.

Arc 5: Vecna

With the return of an old foe leading a band of cultists as they seek to raise the archlich Vecna to godhood. Vox Machina must race against time to stop this new threat as the ascension of Vecna looms ever closer.

100. 'Unfinished Business' (June 8, 2017) ^note Vox Machina travel to Ank'Harel to investigate the second ziggurat, and Pike and Grog wrestle with their feelings about Scanlan's return (with special guest Jon Heder).
101. 'Thar Amphala' (June 15, 2017) ^note Lady Delilah Briarwood has returned from the dead and is once more in Vecna's service. To stop her, Vox Machina must piece together clues from all their past adventures.
102. "Race to the Tower" (June 22, 2017) ^note Vox Machina journey towards the black tower of Entropis in the heart of Thar Amphala, deep within the Shadowfell, to learn — and hopefully thwart — the plans of Vecna.
103. 'The Fate-Touched' (June 29, 2017) ^note As Vox Machina recovers from their disastrous battle with Vecna, the Raven Queen herself offers Vax a chance to return to his loved ones.
104. 'Elysium' (July 6, 2017) ^note Vox Machina wanders the Fields of Elysium, seeking Sarenrae and Pelor's blessings for the coming fight against Vecna.
105. 'The Fear of Isolation' (July 13, 2017) ^note Armed with a clue from Pelor himself, Vox Machina return to the material plane to seek out a mysterious hermit (special guest Darin De Paul) who may be the key to finding the wounded goddess, Ioun.
106. "The Endless Atheneeum" (July 27, 2017) ^note Scanlan and Vox Machina step up to the plate for Ioun's test for the right to the means to defeat Vecna as time grows even shorter for Exandria (with special guest Darin De Paul).
107. 'Scaldseat' (August 3, 2017) ^note With Vecna ascended to godhood and no more time to waste, Vox Machina hurries to an undersea volcano to find the forge of the gods.
108. 'The Core Anvil' (August 10, 2017) ^note Inside the volcano, Vox Machina faces the guardian of the forge as they seek to create the weapons that can defeat Vecna.
109. 'The Ominous March' (August 17, 2017) ^note Having forged the divine trammels, Vox Machina returns to Vasselheim to prepare for Vecna's coming.
110. 'The Climb Within' (August 24, 2017) ^note Vox Machina infiltrates the inside of an undead titan marching towards Vasselheim in hopes of stopping Vecna's plans.
111. 'Shadows of Thomara' (September 14, 2017) ^note The climb within the titan continues, as Vox Machina strives to avoid being discovered.
112. 'Dark Dealings' (September 21, 2017) ^note Vox Machina emerges into Thar Amphala and seeks out an ancient weapon rumored to have power to defeat Vecna.
113. 'The Final Ascent' (September 28, 2017) ^note Having rested in the Feywild, Artagan sends Vox Machina back to Thar Amphala, where the time has come to scale the tower of Entropis, aided by an old acquaintance (special guest Joe Manganiello).

'Vecna, the Ascended' (October 5, 2017) ^note Aided by a cadre of allies and blessings from the gods, Vox Machina face off against Vecna, in a race to banish the Whispered One from the material plane before his armies can crush Vasselheim (with special guests Will Friedle, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Joe Manganiello.
115. "The Chapter Closes" (October 12, 2017) ^note With Vecna defeated and Vasselheim safe, the Raven Queen comes to collect on her bargain, and Vox Machina are left to decide how to spend their days as their stories come to an end.

Arc 1: Come Together

Seven disparate individuals first meet by chance in the sleepy town of Trostenwald, but they quickly become involved in an investigation after a zombie attacks the recently arrived traveling carnival. Out of necessity, they come together as a group, calling themselves the Mighty Nein and setting off north. In the aftermath of the attack on the Zauber Spire, they find themselves exploring the underbelly of Zadash, gambling their fates with the Gentleman, and riding across the swamps of Berleben before engaging in merriment and mayhem among the folks of Hupperdook, oblivious to their soon-to-be changing fortunes.
