One day, Taiya discovers a small car in the grass. This car is called Speedor and he asks for help reuniting with his partner Sousuke. Taiya agrees to, when the Hashiryan attack and leaves the team cornered.

Luckily for them, Speedor's partner appears to lend a hand!

Tropes

  • Accidental Misnaming: Sosuke refers to the Boonboomgers, particularly Taiya, as "Bunbun [X]" instead of "Bun [X]", probably due to how his ranger name is structured.
  • Big Damn Heroes: The Geta Grumer is foiled by the appearance of Go-On Red, whose intervention helps the Boonboomgers regain their footing after they’re immobilized by his heavy geta. When Geta Grumer grows giant, Buson and Bear-RV appear as well to combine with Speedor and form Engine-Oh once again.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Sosuke tells a lost little boy to “smile, smile”, which was the catchphrase of his teammate Saki.
  • Call-Back: At the end, it's revealed Speedor and Bear-RV's son Machalcon is getting married, and the reason Speedor came down to Human World is to pick up Sosuke to celebrate as the rest of the team is already at Machine World.
  • Contrived Coincidence:
    • Taiya encounters Speedor just after he finishes an unspecified job on the team's behalf, and resolves to help him out once he learns the Engine's predicament.
    • Speedor got stuck in small size because upon arriving in Earth's atmosphere, he bumped into Cannonborg arriving on Earth, which caused him to be unable to size-shift without Sosuke's help.
    • Sosuke is first encountered helping a lost boy look for his mother. As he drops by the police station, who else but Jou would be the officer on duty?
  • Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: The episode's title borrows from Go-onger's naming scheme of two kanji and four katakana charactersnote .
  • Milestone Celebration: The appearance of Go-on Red and Engine-Oh are to celebrate Go-onger reaching its fifteenth and sixteenth anniversaries, while also promoting the new Memorial Edition release of the Go-Phone.
  • Mode Lock: Speedor becomes the client of the day by asking the Boonboomgers to reunite him with his partner Sosuke, who'd be able to help him regain his ability to turn giant again after becoming stuck in his small size after bumping into Cannonborg.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: While Sosuke's return was shown in the episode preview, it only showed shots of him from behind or in suit and was voiced by a placeholder VA; giving the impression that it would be a Fake Shemp style return. The episode proper showed that Yasuhisa Furuhara did indeed return and heavily features in the episode. And why wouldn't he, as he's made it clear in his podcast he loves the role and will take any chance he gets to returnnote .
  • Passing the Torch: In the end, Sousuke entrusts Earth's/the Human World's protection to the Boonboomgers as the Go-ongers will all be away in Machine World for Machalcon's wedding.
  • Running Gag: Sosuke keeps referring to the Boonboomgers as "Bunbun [X]" instead of the proper terminology even after they did their roll call. No one except Taiya bothers with correcting him by the end of the episode.
  • Spoiler Opening: One of the clips of the episode that appear in the opening shows Engine-Oh, spoiling Bus-on and Bear-RV's appearance in the episode.
  • Stock Footage: The episode splices in footage from the original Go-onger series in places where the footage is unable to be re-filmed, such as Go-on Red's roll call, Engine-Oh's cockpit scenes, Go-on Red's finisher with the Mantan Gun.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Speedor attempts to help the Boonboomgers fight Geta Grumer. However, while he does manage to keep the Kurumaju distracted, he's of limited help due to being stuck in his small size, and eventually gets batted away by Geta Grumer's wooden sword.
  • Theme Song Power Up: The original Go-onger theme blares as Sosuke manages to power through the weighted feet out of sheer willpower. This is followed up by the Boonboomger theme playing when the two teams finish off the Geta Grumer.
