"Help me!"

Ruby: Look, if the book is buried like before, then some other fool can along and use it. For the Necronomicon to be laid to rest, it has to be dismantled, destroyed.

Pablo and Kelly stand by Amanda's impaled body in the cabin, and the door shuts down behind them. They hear sounds of Ash fighting someone and see two of him trying to kill each other, shooting in the air to make them stop. The younger duo are confused to which Ash is theirs and wave their guns from one to the other while each Ash tries to convince them that he's the real one until one of them just says to shoot them both so that he won't have to deal with fighting evil forces, and Pablo and Kelly shoot the other one, who turns out to be the evil one.

Pablo explains their reasoning that the real Ash would just lay down his life to stop the evil, and Ash explains his evil hand grew a body and killed Amanda. He's about to chop up the corpses when the Australian tourists get close to the cabin and ask to stay for the night, while the trio thinks of a way to get them as far away as possible. Ash tells Pablo and Kelly to get them back to Elk Rapids using a nearby trails while he's dealing with bodies.

Heather, one of the tourists, flirts with Pablo on their way, and Kelly notices that. At the cabin, Ash dismembers his evil clone, and his blood flows towards the Necronomicon. The book starts talking to him, enticing him with its power, but he has none of it and shoves it into the fridge, but once he gets back to the hall, he sees Amanda's body has disappeared.

Pablo and Kelly have an argument about him pursuing Heather before they hear some rustling in the bushes. They empty their clips into it, and it turns out to be a raccoon. Brad stops them from firing again, and this costs his wife Melissa her life as she's impaled from behind by revived Amanda. Pablo and Kelly run out of ammo, and Brad tries to shoot the Deadite with a flare gun and misses, which gives Amanda a chance to kill him by thrusting her hand into his head. She then starts chasing after Heather and breaks her leg, but Pablo stops her from killing the girl. Amanda starts choking him, but Ruby arrives in the nick of time to save him and starts interrogating the Deadite with the dagger. Heather comes to and sees her broken leg, distracting Ruby with her scream and giving Amanda an opportunity to get away.

Ruby chops up Brad and Melissa's corpses, while Pablo tends to Heather's leg. She tries to explain she wants to stop Ash from turning more people into monsters and asks the others to bring her to the cabin. Ash is just about to leave to look for Amanda when Ruby shows up and tells him she's Prof. Knowby's daughter. They start arguing about the Necronomicon, and Ruby tells that the only way to destroy the book is to dismantle it with the dagger. Ash's talk with Pablo and Kelly doesn't help him make up his mind, and he gives the book to Ruby who tells him to use the dagger to rip off the face from the binding. The Necronomicon begs for mercy, but the ritual still goes through, and Ruby asks him to give her the book. Ash hesitates for a moment, but still hands it over.

Ruby starts chanting in Sumerian, and the severed face rises from the ground, attracted to Pablo's amulet. It attaches itself to Pablo's face, and Ash tells Ruby to stop, fighting with her over the Necronomicon. She knocks him away and says that she wrote the book, revealing herself as a Dark One.
