Finn creates an alter ego for himself to get away from some crazy fans, but starts to get a little too into his new role.

- Ass Kicks You: The dragon tries this tactic on Finn but it doesn't go as expected.
- Becoming the Mask: Finn really likes being Davey, to the point where he stops answering to the name of Finn. He finally stops being Davey when Jake gets arrested.
- Bond One-Liner: Jake does one after Finn kills the dragon.
Jake: Don't let the dragon drag on, man.
- Celebrity Is Overrated: Finn is driven to create an alter ego when Candy People start hanging around the Tree Fort and harassing him.
- Continuity Nod:
- At the end, Jake is hiding in Finn's pocket and farts, as at the end of "It Came From The Nightosphere".
- Finn uses the autotune machine that has been in his throat since "The Jiggler" to create Davey's voice.
- Discretion Shot: Subverted in the initial action scene when the camera cuts away to Jake when Finn strikes the dragon with his sword. The shot then cuts back to see Finn cutting the dragon in half, although without gore.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: Finn becomes Davey by shaving his hair into a male-pattern baldness shape, dying it black with molasses, and turning some of it into a false moustache.
- Get Out!: Finn yells this at Randy after he got Jake arrested.
Randy: Well that was pretty unusual, wasn't it, Davey?
Davey: Get outta here Randy! Geeeet ouuuuut!
- The Guards Must Be Crazy: The Banana Guards are stupid. While they manage to arrest Jake, Finn (as Davey) breaks him out of jail and throws Jake's robber disguise on a horse. The Banana Guards are fooled even though Jake is standing next to them.
- Loony Fan: The fans who hang around outside the Tree Fort, especially the ice cream person who is obsessed with Finn coming over for dinner.
- Mind Screw: When Finn stops being Davey, he puts his mustache on a horse and says goodbye to it. The mustache bids farewell back.
- No Indoor Voice: The ice cream person is the embodiment of this trope.
- Our Dragons Are Different: The dragon, which has made several appearances prior to this is more of a serpentine fish like creature with two large sacs on the sides of its neck.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: What Finn becomes in his Davey disguise. Just an average joe who doesn't do anything spectacular. Given his adventure-filled life, Finn enjoys the peace of being normal for a change.
- Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: The Banana Guards say "wee-oh wee-oh" as a siren noise when answering emergency calls and chasing criminals.
- Talking to Themself: When Jake is arrested, Finn has a conversation with "Davey", symbolised by the false moustache that he is holding up in front of him.
