Basic Trope: A video game location where grinding (be it experience, money, items, drops, etc.) is exceptionally easy.

  • Straight: In Tales of Troperia XVI, the infinitely respawning zombies in Big Boo's Haunt (who are supposed to serve as a Beef Gate) can be one-shotted because Revive Kills Zombie, earning you far more experience and money than other foes at that point in the game.
  • Exaggerated: The zombies give so much experience that you can reach the Absurdly High Level Cap without much trouble.
  • Downplayed: The zombies give a bit more experience and money than other foes at that point in the game, but not significantly so.
  • Justified:
    • Big Boo's Haunt is an optional dungeon with especially tough foes the developers added for players seeking the added challenge.
  • Inverted: Big Boo's Haunt can only be visited late in the game and is full of woefully underpowered foes who give far less experience and money relative to other enemies around at that point.
  • Subverted:
    • The zombies are indeed as tough as advertised, but only give experience and money in line with other foes encountered at that point of the game.
    • Revive, while powerful against single zombies, is too slow for the Zerg Rush zombies of the deeper layers of Big Boo's Haunt.
    • XP is earned on a per-skill basis: while Revive is now at level 29485, it means nothing if your attack level is too low to do even 1 damage to the local boss and kill him the long way.
  • Double Subverted: The zombies, despite being tough, indeed only give experience and money in line with other foes encountered at that point of the game, but there is a NPC who gives a very profitable side mission in which he pays you $100 per zombie killed, making it worthwhile to grind against them.
  • Parodied: The best source of XP, loot, and equipment is an immoral massive Violation of Common Sense as the prince robs /their own treasury/ and kills his own guards.

  • Averted: All areas of the game include enemies which give appropriate experience and money for the point at which tye are encountered.
