Basic Trope: A revolution is started solely for the purpose of forcing occupiers out.
- Straight: The Cold Phoenix resistance wants their occupiers out of their country, Troperitania.
- Exaggerated: The Cold Phoenix resistance wants anyone that's even remotely connected to the occupiers out of Troperitania.
- Downplayed: The Cold Phoenix resistance just wants the foreign created government out. They're willing to "Live and Let Live" people who immigrated to the country because of the occupiers.
- Justified: Troperitania's current government is set up by and subservient to another country.
- Inverted:
- The Cold Phoenix resistance wants their heavily isolationist government to open its borders to foreign trade.
- The Cold Phoenix are rabid supporters of the occupiers, attacking anyone who wants to be free.
- The Cold Phoenix are not from Tropepertania, and are infiltrating from another country and sabotaging it through rebellion, for better or worse.
- Subverted: The Cold Phoenix leader is using nationalistic rhetoric to gain support.
- Double Subverted: After the Cold Phoenix leader is killed the rebels still consider their actions based entirely on Nationalism.
- Parodied: The Cold Phoenix wants the foreign occupiers out of their country... for their tacky uniforms and annoying accent.
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted:
- The writers don't even bother to explain the revolutionaries motives.
- The terrorist's movives are something completely different.
- Enforced: We need to avert Terrorists Without a Cause. Let's have them want a vaguely defined definition of occupiers out.
- Lampshaded: "Why are you fighting them so fiercely?" "Because this is our fuckin' homeland and these bastards wanna take it over!"
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: The Cold Phoenix leader has ulterior motives and claiming to want occupiers out gets him support.
- Defied:
- The Foreign Occupiers install a popular local ruler to rule on their behalf, thereby reducing the resentment of the natives and preventing The Cold Phoenix Revolution from ever rising to more than a handful of members.
- The Cold Phoenix Revolution is only rebelling because they are tired of their homeland being used as a goldmine. As soon as the occupiers offer to incorporate the homeland as an equal member of the empire, the Cold Phoenix Revolution agrees to a ceasefire.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
- Deconstructed:
- The Cold Phoenix revolution becomes or starts as a group that stretches the concept of occupier and after winning they blame every problem on the occupiers even when they're no longer a problem.
- The Cold Phoenix revolution's motive is based entirely around the hatred of a vaguely defined "occupier". They quickly decay into Terrorists Without a Cause, even going so far as to slaughter every foreigner they get their hands on, women and children included. Because of this they are disliked by everyone, even the very native population they are supposedly fighting for. After they're soundly defeated, the terrified population (mostly) wholeheartedly clings to the foreigners.
- The Cold Phoenix revolution are Heroes To Their Hometown but hated everywhere else due to doing the exact same things as the occupiers, and sometimes worse things.
- Tropertainia was not the best place to live in, with political corruption, economic depression, and more than a few military scuffles. The arrival of foreign occupiers managed to bring peace, albeit through force. The Cold Phoenix is full of groups that thrived in the chaos of the pre-occupied Troperitania. They pretend that they fights for liberty and peace, but in reality they are far worse than their occupiers could ever be.
Seen enough? Now back to the main page, you bloody foreigner!
