It's a Wiggly, Wiggly nightmare!
"I'm in the desert... It's very hot out here. The ground is red, dry and cracked from the heat... I can't see anything alive out here."
"Desert Dreaming"
  • The Wiggle Puppets (as seen in the page image). See them in action here. Their erratic movements, dead eyes and high pitched voices put them deep in the Unintentional Uncanny Valley. Usually people find some puppets scary in hindsight when they look back on them as adults, but even at the time children were frightened by them. The only one known to still exist is the Jeff puppet which is on display at the Powerhouse Museum. Age has caused the colour on the puppet to fade and the sclera of its eyes are now a sickly yellow colour, making it look like a corpse. If that wasn't bad enough, this photo shows that it now has creepy looking cracks on the side of its mouth that look almost like black veins.
    • On the subject of puppets, Simon competed on The Masked Singer Australia as "The Puppet". People have pointed out how creepy the outfit was, as it was bad enough when they're just hand puppets, it's worse when they're over six feet tall.
  • The album cover of their Hit Songs and Rarities compilation. They're all sporting a Slasher Smile (except Jeff who's between this and Psychotic Smirk) and look more like people you'd want as far away from your kids as possible. Especially Greg...
  • "Desert Dreaming" from their first album. It sounds nothing like anything else they've ever recorded and the droning didgeridoo playing throughout and the downright creepy piano would probably frighten most children. Really, it sounds more like something you'd hear on a Tom Waits album. It would seem the band realized this track really isn't very good for their target demographic and replaced it with "The Dreaming Song" on the Wiggle Time re-recording, which while still having a droning didgeridoo intro, is actually an upbeat song this time rather than a trippy spoken-word piece.
  • This Jeff Balloon that the group would use in live shows is this to some people.
  • Some fans have found the original Dorothy the Dinosaur costume to be quite creepy. She bares almost no resemblance to the iconic design everyone knows today due to the costume only being made up of a mask and hat with an incredibly long tail attached at the back while her body is just a green shirt, long white gloves and green pants, meaning she looks like some kind of lizard mutant than a dinosaur. See here.
    • It doesn't help that the original Dorothy was played by Murray, so imagining a 6-foot tall dinosaur dressed like that would have been frightening to pretty much anyone, let alone a child.
  • The mediocre CGI in Space Dancing make the character models look very odd and in some cases, downright creepy. In regards to The Wiggles themselves, Greg and Jeff look okay (apart from Greg's huge head) but Anthony and Murray just look wrong, with Anthony's large, soul staring blue eyes and Murray's deformed brow and bug eyes.
