Jill riding in a truck with Strasser transporting Joe. She sees that Strasser is missing two fingers, and when he remarks about he lost them, Jill recalls the night her mother died and how back then, Strasser ranted about how Joe bit off two of his fingers. It then dawns on her that she is sitting in a truck with the same man who killed her mother and if she had not acted quickly enough, Strasser would have shot her.
When Strasser aims his gun at Jill, a horrified Garth quickly shoves the weapon aside, sending a bullet into a spotlight and causing a fire to spread.
Strasser: There she is! Garth: Just what exactly are you aiming at? (sees Jill running nearby and Strasser's gun aimed right at her!) No! You can't do that! Strasser: If that girl starts telling people who were really are, our whole cover operation'll be blown. Garth: She's not an animal! She's a human being! Jill: Joe! Gregg: Let's go this way! (Strasser takes aim, but Garth shoves the gun away from Jill, causing Strasser to shoot at a spotlight right behind Jill and Greg, destroying it in a shatter of sparks as they dive for cover.) Strasser: That was very stupid, Garth! Jill: What was that? Gregg: I dunno! C'mon! (a fire begins to spread rapidly through the carnival) Garth: You're not a hunter. You're a murderer! And I don't want any part of this! Strasser: (bashes Garth on the head with the butt of his rifle, knocking him out) Anything else on your mind?
