    The Beast of Fairy Tail

  • Haru returns home from a job with Blue Fang and is happy to be back at the Fairy Tail Guildhall, and the first person to welcome her back is Mirajane, who gives her a hug upon seeing her.
  • The moment Haru sees Natsu, she runs up and gives him a big hug, welcoming him home after they both had been gone for a while. It immediately shows that the siblings love each other very much.
    • Natsu even gives Blue Fang a belly scratch, which the wolf loves.
  • The moment Haru meets Lucy, she's immediately very welcoming of her. Of course, it gets Played for Laughs when she teasingly suspects that she's Natsu's new girlfriend, which both Natsu and Lucy quickly deny.
  • When Makarov gives Haru a new assignment, she's at first aggravated when she's told she has to leave as soon as she just gets home. However, she quickly changes her mind when she realizes that the job involves a gang of bandits that kidnapped a young girl.
  • Whenever Happy makes a wisecrack at Lucy, Haru is quick to scold him for teasing her.
  • Lucy smiles as she watches Natsu and Haru have a sparring match the night before they head to Aurora Village. She can see that they really missed each other, and seeing them together makes her feel so happy.
  • The client, Regis Mornstar, reveals that his little sister Gloria was the one who was kidnapped because he discouraged her from trying to use magic. She got tired of his overprotectiveness and wanted to prove that she could be strong enough to fend off the bandits, which resulted in her getting abducted by them. Regis begins to blame himself for not supporting his sister like he should have been because after their father died, he only wanted to keep her safe. Instead of berating him, Haru understands and says that it's only natural for a big brother to want to protect his little sister, and while she says this, she looks lovingly at Natsu, who smiles at her.
  • Haru, after using her Beast Magic to calm down a pack of guard dogs, reassures a jealous Blue Fang that he'll always be her favorite wolf.
  • Natsu and Haru having fun fighting the bandits together.
  • Regis and Gloria's reunion with both of them apologizing to one another for their mistakes.
  • Also counting as an awesome moment, Gloria stands up for the villagers against the bandits' boss, Hammond, and declares that no matter what, she will protect her home, just as her father had done. This impresses Haru enough to commend Gloria for her bravery and tell her that she would fit right in at Fairy Tail.
  • After Haru soundly defeats Hammond, she collapses from exhaustion but is caught by Natsu, who declares that he's proud of her, which causes her to smile as she says that she was only doing what he taught her to.
  • As the heroes are heading home, Gloria calls out to Haru and declares her intention to join Fairy Tail when she's older. Haru promises to wait for her until then, saying that she looks forward to seeing what kind of wizard she'll become.
  • The group heads home after driving the bandits away from Aurora Village once and for all, and Blue Fang is too exhausted to carry everyone back, so they have to take a wagon home. Though Natsu is nauseous from his motion sickness, he claims that having Haru with him makes it a bit more bearable. Natsu then notices that Haru has fallen asleep beside him, causing him to smile lovingly as he takes the blanket in his backpack out, covers himself and her in it, and gives her an affectionate kiss on her forehead. Lucy smiles warmly at the siblings, thinking that even though Natsu has his flaws, he clearly loves his little sister.
  • The ending of the story, showing a short flashback of Haru as a child being held by Natsu, who assures her that she's safe, which Haru has believed ever since that fateful day.
    The Stray Beast
  • Haru and Blue Fang are the first ones to visit Lucy in her new apartment and even bring her flowers as a housewarming gift.
  • Lucy shows Haru her Celestial Gate Keys and instantly bonds with Apollo, the Canis Minor spirit that replaces Plue in the series. Both her and Haru instantly fall in love with the little puppy, to Blue Fang's jealousy, but once again, he is reassured by Haru that she still loves him.
  • Natsu stumbles upon the old grotto where he found Haru, who was a feral child back then, for the first time, and thinks back to when they met, six years ago. Natsu picked up the scent of her blood and followed it into her secret den, where he found her literally licking her wounds after she had gotten beaten up by farmers. Even though she tries to scare him away, Natsu doesn't get angry with her and surmises that she's in pain, but she doesn't want him to see that she is. As a sign of goodwill, he gives her some bread that he had snuck away from the guild.
  • After Haru accidentally calls a vicious bear with her Beast Magic, which she didn't even know she had at the time, Natsu attempts to protect her, but his magic wasn't as strong back then. When Haru saw that Natsu was getting overwhelmed, she ran out and attacked the bear herself, but in doing so, she is gravely injured. Thankfully, Makarov and Erza arrive just in time to drive the bear away before they hurry to get her some help, and all the while, Natsu is mentally begging Haru not to die. It only goes to show that even though he just met her at the time, Natsu already cared deeply for Haru.
  • Haru telling Lucy about how even though she didn't know why she really tried to fight the bear- whether it was to protect Natsu or to defend her territory- she was actually still glad it happened.
  • The introduction of Elektra Dreyar, Makarov's granddaughter and Laxus' younger twin sister, who was 17 years old at the time. The moment she enters, Natsu and the other members of his generation quickly run up and hug her, which she returns.
  • The younger Fairy Tail members and Elektra, showing concern when Haru bites Makarov's hand.
  • Makarov shows genuine sympathy for Haru, wondering why anyone would abandon her in the forest by herself, but reassuring her that eventually, she will open her heart again. It also borders on Tear Jerker.
  • Over the course of the next few days in the flashback, Haru continues to show hostility towards the other Fairy Tail members. The only one she hasn't bitten is Natsu, who decides that he would help her try and trust the others. After he offers her a bowl of soup and gives her gentle head pats, she starts to warm up to him, showing that Natsu was the first person Haru ever trusted.
  • When Haru begins to talk about the cage, Lucy sees that she's clearly not comfortable talking about it and says that she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to.
  • Haru, even when she was feral, was always very happy to see Natsu, who was happy to see her in turn. It goes to show that even before they became siblings, they had really built a great level of trust between each other. Elektra speculates that Natsu has become a calming presence to Haru because she sees him as someone she can be safe with.
  • After she hears that Laxus had locked up Haru in a cage for biting him, Lucy immediately gives her a hug to comfort her while Blue Fang licks Haru's face, which she is grateful for.
  • A minor moment, but it still counts: outside of the flashback, Natsu and Happy have both wandered to the South Gate Park where they see a brother and sister playing. The sister trips and falls down in an effort to keep up with her brother, causing him to go and comfort her, then he gives her a piggyback ride, causing Natsu to smile warmly at them as it reminds him of himself and Haru.
  • Once he gets the key from Laxus, Natsu lets Haru out of the cage, but because she spent 3 days in there, she immediately lashed out and bit him. However, instead of getting angry, Natsu gently pets her head and sympathizes with her.
Natsu: It must've been really hard for ya, huh? You must have been alone for so long, you forgot what it was like to trust people...and Laxus made it worse for you, just when you were starting to get comfortable around here. No one ever took the time to understand the situation you were in, did they? They never took the time to ask if you were all right or if you needed help. They just looked at you and decided that you weren't worth the trouble, is that it? That's probably why you act like an animal, huh? It's because people kept treating you that way, so you might as well have turned into one.
  • After Natsu reassures Haru that she's no longer alone and that she was safe, she breaks down crying in his arms, and he as well Gray, Erza, and the others all gather around her in a group hug.
  • After washing and cutting her hair, dressing her up, and teaching her to walk properly, Elektra wastes no time in claiming Haru as one of her kids and hugging her, which she returns.
  • As Haru is learning to talk, she asks Makarov what the word family means, and he explains to her that Fairy Tail is a Family of Choice, and that Haru is now a member of that family.
  • As Makarov introduces the newly rehabilitated Haru to the rest of the guild, he realizes that she doesn't even remember what her old name was, so Natsu decides to name her Haru Dragneel and adopts her as his sister, much to Haru's joy. He then promises her that he'll always be there for her. It's so heartwarming that even Mirajane, back when she was in her punk goth phase, can't resist getting into another group hug with everyone.
  • Lucy shedding Tears of Joy upon hearing Haru's story, and Haru telling her that no matter what someone's past might be, Fairy Tail will always accept that person as one of their own.
Haru: Everyone in Fairy Tail has a checkered past, but in the guild, it doesn't matter where you're from, who you are, or even what you might have done... because no one will think any less of you. You really are part of the family.
  • After she and Blue Fang leave Lucy's apartment, Haru runs into Natsu and Happy and takes them out for dinner. As they leave, Haru puts her arm around Natsu's shoulders and kisses his cheek, reminding him that she's still very happy that he's her brother and that she'll always love him, which he returns.

     Breaking the Ice

  • Haru is revealed to be on very good terms with Gray, greeting him kindly, offering to take him along on a job, and even saying that she'll split up the reward money with him. According to Mirajane and Cana, Haru and Gray don't get to work with each other very often due to Natsu's overprotectiveness around the former.
  • When Haru unknowingly brings up Gray's former mentor, she gets concerned when he doesn't say anything for a while and asks him if he's all right.
  • To pass the time during their stakeout, Gray asks Haru to sing a song for him, which she obliges. As she sings, birds come to sing along with her and even some townsfolk stop to listen.
  • During the fight with the smugglers, Haru pushes Gray out of the way of a Lacrima Bomb's explosion, which leaves her badly injured. Gray is 'rightfully' pissed off when Morgan laughs at the girl's misfortune.
  • Gray trying to protect Haru from the smugglers while she's recovering inside an abandoned farmhouse, and just as it looks like he's about to fail in doing so, Natsu arrives in the nick of time to help.
  • After everything has settled down, Haru convinces Natsu not to beat up Gray in a fit of overprotective anger. When asked, Natsu admits that even he would do the same thing Haru did because as much as he hates Gray's guts, he would never want him to die.
  • As everyone heads home, Gray thanks Haru for standing up for him, to which she replies that it's no problem.

     Deadly Lullaby

  • Natsu reveals that he picked Lucy to be on his team not because she was blond, but because he sincerely thought that she was a nice person, which Haru thinks is very sweet (even though Lucy is still skeptical).
  • Lucy offers to form a team with just her and Haru, but the latter politely declines, saying that she'd rather be in a team with her brother.
  • When Erza returns home from the job she was on, instead of cowering in fear like everyone else, Haru excitedly runs up to hug her and welcome her back home.
  • When everyone is boarding the train, Haru tries to comfort Natsu when he's going through a bout of motion sickness, showing that she gets really concerned when he gets like this. She even claims that she's trying to find a way to cure it, or at the very least make it easier for him.
  • When Haru returns to the car where she was sitting, she finds Kageyama beating up on Natsu, and the moment she does, she immediately rushes in to help him, showing that she can be just as protective of her brother as he is of her.
  • During the tense drive to Oshibana Station to stop Eisenwald, Lucy manages to calm a motion sick-laden Natsu by putting his head in her lap, massaging his stomach, and petting his hair, which relaxes him enough until he's ready to fight.
  • A brief moment, but Natsu jumps in the way of Kageyama's attack that was meant for Lucy and nullifies it with his flames, asking her if she's all right as he glares at the Shadow Wizard.
    • He also starts giving her the nickname "Luce" at this point.
  • Lucy and Haru working together to take down Karacka, which also doubles as awesome.
  • Lucy holding Natsu back from the Wind Barrier that Erigor set up to keep them from interfering with his assassination of the legal guild masters, including Makarov, and hugs him from behind to get him to calm down.
Lucy: I understand, Natsu... you're upset and you're frustrated because you feel like there's nothing else you can do... but getting yourself torn apart isn't gonna save the Master! Do you know how much that would break his heart?!
  • After summoning Virgo, Lucy insists that the Celestial Spirit call her by her real name and that she is not her servant, but her friend. Of course, Virgo still insists on calling her some sort of formal title, so she settles on "Lady Lucy".
  • Haru saving the injured Kageyama even though Gray tells her that he's the enemy, and after that, Lucy using first aid to close his wound.
  • After Happy exhausts himself from flying too fast, Haru manages to catch him as he falls.
  • Makarov's speech to Kageyama, just like in canon.
  • In the bonus chapter, which is a retelling of episode 9 of the anime, after the starving group of heroes saves an unknown Dark Guild from a spell gone wrong, Haru comes through by asking the villagers for some food, which she shares with Natsu and everyone else.
     The Mother of Fairies

  • After Natsu and Erza come back from being in prison, Haru expresses happiness that they've returned safe and sound.
  • When Haru is hiding behind Natsu due to Laxus' very presence, Natsu reassures her that he'll protect her from him.
  • After she tells Laxus off, Elektra, who had been gone for about 3 months, is greeted by Natsu and the other younger members, who quickly jump onto her in a group hug. At first, she's a little surprised, but then she laughs as she returns their hugs while also greeting Makarov warmly.
  • When she meets Lucy, Elektra gently cups her cheek and looks intently into her eyes, and while she does so, Lucy is reminded of her own mother. After she does this, Natsu and the other congratulate Lucy for being "claimed".

The Fairy Queen and the Beast

  • Haru being excited about going on a job with Erza.
  • During the train ride, Erza is looking out the window and smiling while Haru admires how pretty she is.
  • When Haru fears that she's upset Erza by prying about her past, the Requip Wizard reassures that she's not angry with her, showing that when it comes to Haru, Erza can be very understanding.
  • Later, as they're in Hydrangea Town, Haru has bought Erza all kinds of clothes and hair accessories, and Erza can't help but smile at how thoughtful she is, only for Haru to remind her that she was the one who taught her that in the first place.
  • The girls end up spending a bit of time in a bathhouse together, but the relaxing mood turns somber when Haru accidentally asks Erza where she got her scars from.
  • While up in their hotel room, Erza notices the hair clips that Haru bought for her and wears one, smiling as she notes that Haru really does know what looks good on her.
  • After Blue Fang is hurt by Hammond's brother, Zammond, Erza retaliates violently, claiming that no one hurts Haru or Blue Fang on her watch.
  • On the way back home, Haru apologizes for prying into Erza's past. The Requip Wizard assures that she's not angry and that anyone would ask her the same thing if they saw her scars. Erza then asks Haru if she thinks that her scars are ugly, to which Haru responds that she thinks that her scars make her more beautiful, prompting Erza to give her a big hug as thanks.
  • As they return home to Magnolia, Erza declares that she wants to go on another job with Haru sometime soon and even wants to get more hair accessories, to Haru's joy.
    • Of course, the mood ends up changing when they get back and they find out what Natsu had gotten himself, as well as Happy, Lucy, and Gray into.

     The Cursed Island

  • Erza trying to reassure an upset Haru that Natsu, Happy, Lucy, and Gray will not get expelled. Even if it doesn't initially cheer her up, she's still trying to help her feel better, so it counts.
  • When Gray, who was injured in a previous battle, enters the tent where Haru and Erza are waiting, Haru can't help but run up and hug him, happy to see that he's all right.
  • The following scene also counts as an awesome moment. When Erza threatens to drag Gray, Lucy, Happy, and Natsu back to Magnolia without helping the natives of Galuna, Haru stands up to her and defends Gray. It goes to show that while Haru does deeply respect her older sister figure, she's not completely blind to her flaws and is willing to speak against her if it's something she doesn't agree with. This ultimately causes Erza to change her mind.
  • After she finds Natsu and he explains everything to her, Haru is still rightfully upset with her brother for breaking his promise. Though she tries to be serious, Natsu tickles her to make her laugh, and the siblings end up reconciling.
Haru: I'll tell you this much, you always make it hard for me to stay mad at you.
Natsu: Hey, I'm your brother. It's my job.
    • According to Haru, Natsu tickles her to cheer her up a lot of times, and though she claims it won't work, it always does.
  • After dealing with Lyon's minions, Lucy expresses concern about the fact that Haru was upset about Natsu's decision to take the S-Class job. However, Erza reassures her that even though there are times they fight with each other, Natsu and Haru always make up before the day's end.
  • After everything is said and done and Deliora crumbles to dust due to being in the ice for so long, Gray can only weep Tears of Joy as he realizes that his nightmare is over.
    • Not just that, but it's implied he and Lyon reconcile, too.
  • After they return to Magnolia, Elektra is relieved to see her kids home, safe and sound. She even gives Gray a hug when she sees that he's made it back okay...but she quickly reminds them that he and the others are still being punished.
  • Lucy, who is close to breaking down in tears, is nervous that she and the others are going to be expelled from the guild, but Natsu places his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
  • At first, Makarov is prepared to expel the heroes for taking the S-Class quest without permission...but due to hearing Erza's testimony regarding the islanders of Galuna and how they were saved, Makarov instead opts to suspend the group from guild duties for 2 weeks. They won't be able to take on any jobs, but instead, they'd help out with chores around the guildhall.
    • Upon hearing this, Lucy happily hugs Makarov and thanks him for letting her, Natsu, Gray, and Happy stay, while Haru and Erza are very relieved to hear it.
      • Of course, the only one who's not happy about it is Laxus, who leaves the guild in a huff.

     Adventure on Dragon Island

  • In the first chapter, Haru has returned from a job, and the first thing she does is show Natsu a coupon from his favorite restaurant. It's small, but sweet enough.
    • It's just too bad that Natsu is too sad to actually notice.
  • Upon hearing about why Natsu is so depressed, Lucy and Happy go out to find him sitting alone in town. When Natsu begins to wonder if he'll ever see Igneel, again, Lucy reassures him that he will, though she can't exactly say when because she doesn't know, herself, but she's certain that they will meet again. As she's about to head back to the guild, though, Natsu thanks her for cheering him up.
  • After Natsu returns to the guild to tell everyone about the rumored dragon sighting on the titular island he heard about, Makarov (after defusing what could have been a potential brawl) encourages the boy to go, and the others agree to go along with him.
    • Even more so, Lucy, who was at first reluctant to go to Dragon Island due to hearing that no one has ever returned from there, changes her mind because she knows how important this to Natsu, and therefore, it's important to her, as well.
    • Haru asks Natsu if it's all right if she could call Igneel "Dad", too, which he wholeheartedly allows.
  • The following day in Hargeon, the team is preparing to head out on a boat, but Natsu refuses to get on board the vessel. It's only until Lucy encourages him to go by saying that this might be his one chance to find Igneel, he changes his mind and climbs aboard... only to immediately feel nauseous the moment he gets on.
  • During the boat trip to Dragon Island, the group enjoys the sights they see along the way, such as dolphins hunting for fish and even a whale!
    • Lucy even says that she can use what she saw as inspiration for her novel.
  • The night before they arrive at the island, Natsu is crippled by his motion sickness to the point where he can't even get out of bed, so Lucy puts his head in her lap again to soothe his aches. When she attempts to leave so she can go bed, herself, Natsu asks her to stay, saying that he doesn't feel as sick when she's near him, and she obliges as she continues to stroke his hair and rub his stomach for him.
    • Lucy even mentally notes that she finds him cute when he's relaxed...but quickly reprimands herself for thinking so.
    • Even more so, Natsu compliments that she has a nice smell, which flusters her even more. Before she can ask him what he means, he's already fallen asleep.
  • While setting up camp on Dragon Island, Natsu and Gray get into a big argument which results in Erza having to break them up and Natsu storming off in a huff. Lucy follows him and sits with him to see if he's okay. When Natsu opens up and reveals that he knew all along that this was just another wild goose chase on his search for Igneel and he's afraid that the dragon left because he didn't love him, anymore, Lucy quietly hugs him, allowing him to cry about how much he misses Igneel. It shows how far their friendship has come in the short time they've known each other, so much so that Natsu is willing to openly cry even with Lucy around.
  • Gray apologizes to Natsu for saying the things that he said, which prompts Natsu to punch him in the jaw, claiming that they're even. Gray doesn't even fight back, saying that he had it coming, but Erza says that it's just his way of saying that he forgave the Ice Wizard.
  • It's a small moment, but when the group is attacked by unseen assailants, Natsu immediately jumps to protect Lucy from a tranquilizer dart.
  • The next morning, after Natsu reveals that he is Igneel's adopted son, the islanders, led by the Chieftess Kilania, set him and the others free, then bring the team to their village, where Natsu finds a statue of Igneel. It is here that Kilania reveals that a long time ago, Igneel saved the island from getting overrun by monsters, which is how it got its name: Dragon Island.
  • To celebrate Natsu and the others arriving to their island, the villagers (save for Torn, Kilania's grandson) throw a banquet in their honor, and Natsu even gets to dance with Lucy.
  • After the party, Natsu sits underneath the statue of Igneel, deep in thought. As Lucy comes to sit with him and asks how he's feeling, Natsu says that while he was sad about coming to Dragon Island, at first, he is very proud of the fact that Igneel saved the island and it's given hope that they will meet again. Gray notes that while Natsu didn't exactly find Igneel, he at least got a little bit of closure.
    • Of course, the moment is ruined when the Gargoyle Talon Guild attacks the village and destroys the statue, sending Natsu as well as the others into a rage.
  • The moment it is revealed that the Gargoyle Talon Guild is after Natsu, Lucy, Haru, and the others quickly step up to defend him, as well as the villagers.
    • Adding onto this, Natsu shields Kilania and Torn from Nero's iron claws. Torn, who wanted nothing to do with Natsu and the others at first, is stunned to see that the Fire Dragon Slayer is willing to protect him.
  • After Natsu is captured by Xavier and his goons, Lucy blames herself for letting him get taken away after he protected her, calling herself useless for not being able to fight back. However, after she slaps the Celestial Spirit Wizard across the face, Erza then helps Lucy up to her feet and reassures that she is not to blame and that she has far more potential than even she herself knows.
  • After seeing how far that Natsu and the others are willing to go to protect him and his fellow tribespeople, Torn apologizes for his earlier treatment of them, to his grandmother's growing pride.
  • Just before he flies to go find Natsu, Happy reassures Lucy that he's not angry at her for Natsu getting captured.
Happy: Lucy, if you're worried that I'm mad at you... don't be. Natsu wouldn't want me to. Besides, I know it's not your fault. Natsu only wanted to protect you.
  • While in his subconscious mind, Natsu finds himself standing before Igneel, again. The Fire Dragon fondly teases him for being a late sleeper, but after a short banter, Natsu asks his foster father where he's contacting him from. While Igneel can't exactly tell him, he does reassure his son that when the time comes, they will meet again and that he has always loved him.
  • After she sends the Gargoyle Talon Guild's ship into the air, Aquarius, who usually gives Lucy grief over a lot of things, asks Lucy to be careful and to go save Natsu, causing Lucy to nod as she hurries to join the others.
    • Aquarius even notes that while Lucy isn't a very powerful wizard yet, she does have a lot of heart, something that she inherited from her own mother.
  • Also counts as an awesome moment for Lucy. While fighting Nero, the iron-masked man continues to lay into her about why she's so weak and that Natsu got captured by Gargoyle Talon in the first place because of her cowardice. At first, Lucy doesn't deny this... but then, she retorts that while she's not as strong or doesn't have any special skills as the rest of her teammates, she refuses to give up because Natsu was the one who brought her to Fairy Tail, the guild she always wanted to join, and she refuses to let him down.
  • With Haru, she is getting badly beaten by a mind-controlled Blue Fang while Eliza sits nearby and watches, mocking the girl for having a bond with her animal partner. Haru refuses to fight Blue Fang and instead appeals to him by reminding him of when the Dragneel Siblings first brought him home when the wolf was just a puppy, which initiates a flashback.
    • The flashback reveals that Natsu and Haru found Blue Fang while they were out in the forest during a rainstorm. They brought him to the guild because he had nowhere to go and he was all alone, and though Makarov was at first adamant that Blue Fang not stay, when Haru appeals to his better nature, he agrees to let her keep the wolf puppy as long as she and Natsu take care of him.
  • When Blue Fang remembers the bond that he and Haru share, he rams his head into a tree several times to snap himself out of the spell before he finally breaks free. Once he does that, he and Haru link up their spirits and soundly defeat Eliza with a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown and destroying her magic whistle.
  • Not long after, Eliza's roc, Xerxes, is revealed to have also been stuck under his mistress' spell, meaning that he was never really in control of his actions to start with.
  • While Gray is fighting with Tyson and is nearing the end of his rope, another flashback starts, and this one takes place sometime after Natsu first joined Fairy Tail as a child. Even back then, they didn't get along, but after Gray begins to realize that maybe Natsu is just lonely and is trying to get his attention, he agrees to try and get to know him better, even if they still butt heads once in a while. After Gray defeats Tyson, he mentally notes that while Natsu does get on his nerves, he wouldn't expect any less from his little brother.
  • During her fight with the Fear Wizard, Akira, Erza has a flashback that details her first S-Class job when she was 15. Apparently, she failed the job because the monster she was supposed to face was a giant spider, which is something Erza's afraid of. Erza fears that she has brought shame to the name of Fairy Tail, but to her surprise, Elektra reassures that there's no shame in being afraid, and that even she is afraid of things, too. The flashback reinvigorates Erza, who is facing down both Akira and a giant tarantula, before she Requips into her Heaven's Wheel Armor, slices through the illusion, and then soundly defeats her opponent.
  • During Natsu's battle with Xavier, the Fire Dragon Slayer is beginning to run out of magic power due to using so many spells at one time. Just when Natsu is about to be killed, Torn and his fellow tribespeople arrive with flaming arrows, which they use to set the ground around Natsu on fire. Even though Torn used to be hostile towards him and the rest of the team, in the span of just one day, he shows that he is willing to help Natsu just as he had helped him and Kilania.
  • After Xavier's defeat, Torn offers to take an exhausted Natsu back to the village, which the others are grateful for.
  • Having enough Xavier's rantings about how Natsu is too dangerous to be kept alive, Erza, Lucy, Gray, and Haru quickly shut him up by saying that no matter what, Natsu will always be a member of their family. Erza even threatens Xavier that if he ever tries to go after Natsu again, all of Fairy Tail would be coming after him while Haru states that even if Natsu had the power to destroy everyone, he would never use it against the people he loved.
  • The following day, Team Natsu is preparing to head home by riding on Xerxes, who actually turns out to be a really sweet bird.
  • Torn apologizes again for how he treated the group and welcomes them to come back to Dragon Island to visit them any time they wish.
  • Kilania presents Natsu with one of Igneel's old fangs, which he lost during the battle with the monsters. She tells him that Igneel would want him to have it and to not give up hope about finding Igneel, for she feels certain that he's still out there. Natsu is so grateful that he gives Kilania a big hug as thanks.
  • As they're flying home, Natsu thanks Lucy for coming with him on their adventure to the island, causing her to smile at him warmly.
  • Back on Dragon Island, it is revealed that not only has the statue of Igneel been rebuilt but now there are 7 more statues: one for each member of Team Natsu.
Kilania: We will never forget those young mainlanders... and how they risked their lives to protect us all... including the Son of Igneel.

     Fairies vs. Phantoms

  • Also doubles as Awesome: the entire Fairy Tail Guild willing to go to war over what happened to Levy, Jet, and Droy, even though the armed conflict between guilds is strictly forbidden by the Magic Council.
  • Natsu manages to rescue Lucy, who had jumped from an 8-story building. When Haru asks her why she would do something so risky, Lucy says it's because she sensed that Natsu was nearby.
  • Natsu and Haru reassure Lucy that she can stay with Fairy Tail, even though she feels like it's her fault that Phantom Lord came after them in the first place.
  • As Lucy is contemplating going back home to her father, Natsu steps in and tells her that she seems to fit in at the guild more than being some rich girl. He declares that she is Lucy of Fairy Tail and that the guild is her new home, causing her to shed tears of gratitude.
  • When Phantom Lord attacks Fairy Tail with the Jupiter Cannon, Jose demands that they give Lucy up to him. At first, Lucy is actually contemplating surrendering herself to Phantom Lord... but then, everyone shouts that they'd rather die than give her up. Lucy is extremely touched by how far her new friends are willing to go to protect her.
  • Haru wants to join Natsu to help stop the Jupiter Cannon from firing, but he tells her to stay behind for she has something more important to do: get Lucy somewhere safe.
  • Haru and Blue Fang bring Lucy to the East Forest, where they take shelter inside a hidden grotto. It is revealed that this is the spot where Natsu and Haru first met, and therefore, it's very special to both of them. Lucy is actually the first person, aside from Natsu, who knows about it. It really shows the level of trust that Haru has built with Lucy, so much so that she's willing to hide her in a place that she deems special.
    • Of course, the moment is ruined when it's revealed that Gajeel followed them.
  • Haru and Blue Fang are found and rescued by Natsu, Happy, and Loke, and when Haru cries to Natsu about Lucy surrendering herself to Gajeel, he understands and comforts her, saying that Lucy only did what she did to save Haru's life and that she was a true Fairy Tail wizard. He then goes off to find Lucy, promising that he'll save her.
  • Upon returning to the now completely destroyed guildhall, Haru is devastated by what happened. However, Elektra goes to comfort her and reassures her that Jose was the one at fault for letting his grudge against Fairy Tail get the better of him. She tells Haru not to mourn what they've lost, but instead be happy for what they still have: they may have lost their guildhall, but they still have each other. As soon as she says this, they see the magic circle for Fairy Law in the sky.
  • After Natsu and Happy bring Lucy back to the others, Lucy still continues to blame herself for everything that happened, but Haru refuses to let her. It's when Makarov delivers his speech that everyone in Fairy Tail considers each other family that Lucy finally realizes that she is accepted among the guild and they will always protect her, no matter what.
    • Of course, the mood is ruined when Makarov cries about the Magic Council coming down on them for starting a war against Phantom Lord, even though they were the ones that started it.
  • A week later, while Haru is at the construction site, Natsu, Happy, and Gray start to get hungry, so she goes to get the lunchboxes that were made. As she gets them, she notices one left for Gray from his "secret admire". That's when she spots Juvia hiding nearby. Instead of ratting her out to the rest of the guild, Haru warmly greets her and realizes that she was the one who made the lunchbox for Gray. Juvia is too shy to give the lunchbox to Gray directly, not to mention the fact that she's afraid that he doesn't want to see her after their battle, so Haru decides to give Gray the lunchbox in Juvia's stead. When Juvia asks her if Haru finds it strange that she's talking to a former enemy, Haru states that Juvia doesn't even look that bad to her.
    • The lunchbox is actually very well made, and Gray even says that it's tasty!
  • Haru accidentally bumps into Loke and sees that he hasn't been looking so good. Turns out he had been running himself ragged, trying to get Lucy's Celestial Gate Keys back to her.
  • Haru and Blue Fang visit Lucy at her apartment and finds out that she's leaving to go confront her father, Jude. Instead of letting her go by herself, Haru decides to go with her for moral support.
  • When they arrive at the Heartfilia Estate, Lucy is warmly welcomed home by all her old servants, whom Haru thought would act uppity and crass, but instead, they also treat her very well and thank her for taking care of Lucy.
  • Also doubles as another awesome moment. Lucy and Haru finally face Jude Heartfilia, the former's father, who only wanted Lucy to come back so she could get married and therefore advance in his business. Haru is about to tell Jude off for using his own daughter in such a manner, but Lucy beats her to it, claiming that not only is Fairy Tail her new family and that the next time he tries to use his money to force Lucy to come back, then he will make an enemy of the entire Fairy Tail Guild. She then walks out with Haru congratulating her on standing up to Jude.
  • Natsu and the others arrive sometime after this in an attempt to stop her from returning to her old home, only for Lucy to explain herself to them. After clearing up the misunderstanding, Haru is just glad that Lucy is still staying with Fairy Tail.

     A Dragon's Heart

  • When Lucy wants to go out on a job, just to get away from Natsu, who had been teasing her for most of the morning, Erza volunteers to go with her, just in case. It's a small moment, but it shows that she's willing to protect her from an enemy attack, just in case someone from Phantom Lord decides to kidnap her again.
  • While on the train talking with Erza, Lucy begins to realize that ever since she first joined Fairy Tail, Natsu has hardly ever left her side and that just having around him just feels so natural to her, now.
  • Elfman and Natsu having a heart-to-heart about Lisanna after the latter yelled at Haru for bringing her up earlier.
  • After Erza tells her about Lisanna, Lucy expresses sadness for Natsu as she realizes that he's been through his fair share of hardships, as well. Erza tells her that life isn't always going to be happy, and there are times that people often forget that...but what's important is that everyone live in the present and be happy for what they have. This causes Lucy to decide that she wants to talk to Natsu when she gets home.
  • When Natsu comes back to the guild, the first person he sees is Haru, who apologizes for accidentally bringing up Lisanna, and he apologizes right back, and soon after, everyone also apologizes for teasing Natsu about his crush on Lucy, who holds no hard feelings.
  • When Lucy comes home, she finds Natsu waiting in her apartment for her, and she sees that he had bought her more groceries to replace all the food he ate. He then apologizes for his childish behavior and for eating all her food, and Lucy apologizes for losing her temper. Just as Lucy is getting ready to put the food away, she hears Natsu's stomach grumble, so she offers to make dinner for the both of them.

     The Tower of Heaven

  • The gang is having a wonderful time, having some time off at Akane Resort. After all they had been through, some vacation time was very well-deserved.
    • What makes it even more heartwarming is that Juvia was invited to come along, too!
  • Haru compliments Erza looking beautiful in her dress. It's a small moment, but to Erza, it means a lot since she's always wearing her armor.
  • In the casino, Gray and Juvia are seen sitting together, the latter expressing excitement about joining Fairy Tail officially. Gray tells her that he's happy for her, and that while the guild can a little chaotic, she'll get used to it before too long.
  • After the group is attacked by Erza's former friends, Juvia had saved Gray from getting hurt by hiding him inside her body. Though he claims that it's one of the weirdest things that ever happened to him and the perpetrators escaped with Erza, he thanks her for her help.
  • In the following chapter, a flashback shows a young Erza and Haru, the former carrying giving the latter a piggyback ride after she got lost in the woods during a game of tag with Natsu and Gray. Haru remembers that Erza has always looked after her and has always made sure that things were fair for her. Gratefully, Haru hugs Erza from behind her and tells her that she loves her very much, with Erza replying that she loves her, as well.
  • Doubles as a Tear Jerker. After Haru hears about Erza's past, she doesn't pity her or judge her, but instead hugs her tightly while crying for her, saying that she's sorry that she went through such horrible things.
  • Simon reveals that he was still on Erza's side, even after all the 8 years she was gone. He never stopped believing in Erza, not even once.
    • On top of that, Shô apologizes to Erza for doubting her and believing the lies that Jellal fed him.
  • After defeating Wally and Millianna, Natsu, Haru, and Happy head out to put a stop to Jellal. Millianna asks Haru why they would even get involved, believing that it has nothing to do with them...but Haru gives her this answer.
Haru: This has everything to do with me. It involves Erza... and therefore, it involves Fairy Tail. Even if she says she doesn't want our help, we won't leave her in the lurch... so we're gonna show Jellal what happens when he messes with us.
  • In Chapter 6's opening flashback, Haru is seen praising Erza during her training, showing her great admiration for her. She also expresses concern for her when she sees her sitting alone.
  • Gray and Haru working together to save Natsu from Fukuro's belly, which also doubles as Awesome.
  • Gray declaring that Erza belongs in Fairy Tail... so that she'll never cry again.
    • Simon even makes a mental note that Erza has made some very good friends.
  • Natsu manages to rescue Haru and Blue Fang from Jellal's Binding Snake, and the first thing he does is ask if his little sister is okay. Haru cries and says that she only wanted to save Erza, prompting Natsu to comfort her and tell her that he's proud of her for doing her best.
  • After Erza urges Natsu to escape with Haru and Blue Fang, he responds by knocking her out, and then he reveals that he hates seeing the sight of Erza crying, and that he and Haru have always looked up to her. He declares that once he defeats Jellal, they will take Erza back home with them to Fairy Tail. Earlier, Haru yelled at Natsu for not wanting to help Erza, but when she sees him come to her defense, she realizes that he really does understand the circumstances and will never abandon a member of his family.
Haru (in tears): Natsu... you do understand...!
  • Haru continues to protect Erza from Jellal, declaring that while she could never fully understand the pain she's been through, she would never abandon Erza and she'd rather die than lose her.
    • Haru also reveals that despite all he put her through, Erza still cares for Jellal and just wanted to save him...and it actually makes him hesitate for a moment.
  • While also a Tear Jerker, Simon's Heroic Sacrifice also counts as this. He dies with a smile on his face, glad that he was able to help the woman he loved...even if she never returned those feelings.
  • After Haru and Blue Fang escape from the Tower of Heaven, she believes that Natsu and Erza have died because they didn't make it out in time... but when she sees her brother wading his way to the beach with Erza in his arms, she quickly runs to go and hug them both along with the others, happy that they made it back alive.
    • Also, for the first time in 8 years, Erza is able to cry out of BOTH her eyes.
  • Erza thanks Haru for not giving up on her, prompting Haru to reply that she, as well as everyone else in Fairy Tail, love her very much.
  • Three days later, everyone is having a party to celebrate their victory at Akane Resort.
  • When Haru finds Erza wearing a lovely dress instead of her armor for once, Erza declares that she's no longer afraid to show her scars. Haru declares that she's proud of her for this.
  • While the circumstances are sad to think about, Haru believes that Jellal died free from Zeref's control and that he and Simon are now watching over Erza, as well as her friends, something that Erza really hopes for.
  • Wally, Millianna, and Shô decide that they want to experience the world for themselves for the first time and not have to live by being controlled by anyone else. When Shô declares that this is what he feels is true freedom, Erza tells him that while she is sad that her friends won't join Fairy Tail, she says that she's happy to hear it from them, especially from Shô, whom Erza says that he's really grown up and that Simon would have been very proud.
  • Erza then gives her friends a send-off and initiates the Fairy Tail Farewell Ceremony, prompting Natsu, Gray, Haru, and Lucy to shoot off magic fireworks. She then calls out to her friends to take care of themselves and she hopes that they will meet again, someday.
  • As they're leaving, Shô calls out to Haru and asks her that she and the others take care of Erza, to which she replies that she will.
  • This final line as the arc closes on Erza's smiling, tearful face.
Haru (thinking): Erza... you're free now... you're finally free...!

     Aftermath

  • Though the start of the story is rather depressing due to Haru's Heroic BSoD, after he goes to Lucy for advice, Natsu goes back to his and Haru's house and reminds his sister that he'll always stick by her and that whenever she's ready to talk about what's wrong with her, he'll be there to listen. Though she doesn't look at Natsu, Haru does hold his hand and tell her brother that she loves him.
  • In Chapter 2, it shows the early years of Elektra and Laxus. Though the latter was always quite sickly, they actually did have a very good relationship before everything went sour.
    • Also, when Elektra was a little girl, she was always so lonely, but Makarov always managed to cheer her up when he came to visit.
  • Despite everything that he did, Elektra shows that she still cares about Laxus and is reminded by Makarov that even though they're far apart, they'll always be looking his way. She then makes the Fairy Tail salute as she smiles warmly.
  • In Chapter 3, Levy tells Gajeel that she forgives him for what he done to her during the whole mess with Phantom Lord and thanks him for protecting her from Laxus. Upon hearing that, Gajeel looks almost guilt-ridden as he says that he's sorry for what he did to her, and that he wanted to apologize to Lucy and Haru, as well. Levy can only smile at him, saying that he's going fit right in at Fairy Tail.
  • In Chapter 4, After Freed comes back from a job with the Thunder Legion, he expresses dismay over other people spreading a rumor that Laxus is an even worse troublemaker than everyone else in Fairy Tail and that he blames himself for letting Laxus go down the wrong path. Luckily, he and Mirajane have a heart-to-heart and she reassures her that Laxus will one day return a better man.
  • Chapter 5 shows that Juvia and Cana are getting along well. When Gray talks to Cana about it, she reveals the sacrifice that Juvia made during the Battle of Fairy Tail.
    • Gray later goes out to find Juvia before she leaves for her job, and then sits down with her to talk about what she had done. When he asks her why she did what she did for Cana, Juvia explains that she did it because she thought it was something Gray would do. She then proceeds to say that Gray is the kindest, noblest, and most selfless man that she's ever known.
    • After that, Gray tells her that Juvia didn't have to sacrifice herself to prove that she was worthy of joining Fairy Tail because he felt that she was already accepted the moment she joined.
      • He then proceeds to ask her out to dinner, which she eagerly accepts.
  • Chapter 6 shows Erza still thinking about the fact that Mystogan looks like Jellal. She can't help but think that he might still be alive since she didn't really see him die. After some reassurance from Makarov, Erza decides not to worry about the what-ifs and continue to move forward.
  • Chapter 7 shows Haru waking up in the middle of the night from a nightmare, prompting Natsu to hold her and comfort her until she falls back to sleep. It also counts as a Tear Jerker, but it's still sweet to see Natsu be so caring to his adopted younger sister.
  • The next day, Natsu is about to head out to the guild, again, but Haru actually manages a weak "I'll see you later" before he and Happy step out. Before, she wouldn't even talk, so it's a small moment, but Natsu is relieved that she's starting to talk again.
  • Lucy comforts Natsu when he says that he still feels that he's unable to do anything to help Haru with her depression.
  • When Haru announces her resignation because she felt like she couldn't forgive Laxus and because she was upset with everyone for forgiving him so easily, Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Happy decide that if she's leaving, then they're leaving, as well. They're willing to abandon the guild they call home if it means Haru doesn't have to be alone.
  • Though Haru claims that she doesn't think she'll ever forgive Laxus for what he's done, Makarov reassures that there will come a time when she will come to forgive him.
    • After that, Natsu reassures Haru that no matter what, she should be able to say how she feels, and that no matter what, her family will always be there to help her get through it. What follows is a big Group Hug from everyone... even Gajeel (although Juvia forces him to join the hug).
  • In the epilogue, Laxus has arrived in a bar in Acacia Town, where he meets a young waitress named Fabiola. After he opens up to her about the things that he did during the Battle of Fairy Tail, she sees that Laxus is full of remorse over his actions. Though she doesn't even know him, she reassures him that no matter what, Makarov, Elektra, and even the rest of Fairy Tail will never forget him and that he isn't alone, even if he feels like he is. Laxus thanks Fabiola for hearing him out, and she wishes him the best of luck.

     Testing the Waters

  • When Lucy doesn't believe herself to be dating material, Mirajane, Haru, and Cana are quick to comfort her and tell her the exact opposite.
  • It also doubles as Funny due to everyone's reactions, but Natsu, after some pushing from Haru, decides to ask Lucy out on a date, and after giving it some thought, she agrees to go.
  • The following day, as Natsu is getting ready for his date with Lucy, he reveals to Haru that he's actually really nervous because he doesn't know the first thing about what people do on a date. Haru comforts her brother and tells him that no matter what, he and Lucy should just have a good time and that Natsu should just be himself.
  • Despite feeling nervous about it, Lucy actually feels a bit happy that Natsu asked her out on a date.
  • In Chapter 3, Lucy and Natsu are walking through town together when the latter gets hungry. Even though Natsu insists that he's fine, Lucy decides that she wants to get something to eat with him, anyway, and at his favorite restaurant instead of going to a cafe that she might like because Lucy knows Natsu enough to know that cafe food won't be enough to feed him.
  • As they're eating, Lucy can't help but smile fondly as she thinks back to when she and Natsu first met in Hargeon. Then, after they pull a Dine and Dash due to Natsu leaving his wallet at home, Lucy starts laughing because of the rush. She then remembers when Natsu took her by the hand and invited her to join Fairy Tail. After recounting the memories the two had together, Natsu still sincerely believes that Lucy is a nice person.
  • In the following chapter, as Natsu and Lucy are waiting out the storm under an awning, the latter starts sneezing, causing the former to lend her his scarf, which is his most precious possession in the world, claiming that Igneel wouldn't mind if he let her borrow it. Soon after, Natsu pulls Lucy closer to him so that he can use his body heat to warm her up.
  • After a moment, Natsu apologizes, thinking that he's ruined their date and that he doesn't blame Lucy if she never wants to do it, again, but she reassures him that despite the setbacks, she's actually having a nice time because she's so used to being around him, now, and that he's become a comforting presence in her life.
    • Erza and Gray, who are spying on them, smile warmly at the tender scene.
  • After they get back to Lucy's apartment, Lucy decides to let Natsu spend the night due to the ongoing rain. As they eat dinner, Lucy gives Natsu a quick kiss on the cheek and thanks him for a lovely day out.
    • What's more, she wants to do it, again, one day.
     Alliances
  • Yajima, a former member of the Magic Council, has retired from politics and is taken on a much more fulfilling job as a cook at his own restaurant, which Team Natsu is happy for.
    • What's more, he apologizes on the Council's behalf for giving Fairy Tail so much grief.
  • In the next chapter, as the group is heading to the place where they're meeting their allies, Lucy is expressing self-doubt due to feeling that she's not strong enough to help against the mission, but the others are quick to say otherwise. Despite Lucy's lack of self-confidence, she's touched that everyone is willing to believe in her.
  • Natsu, in a fit of jealousy, pulls Lucy away from the flirtatious Tri-Men, who continue to try and make their advances on her despite her not being interested. Though she's still a bit embarrassed, Lucy's actually relieved that Natsu actually came to her rescue.
  • After Team Natsu inadvertently starting another brawl, Lucy is almost attacked by Sherry's Carpet Doll, but once again, Natsu steps in to protect her and even takes a second to ask if she's all right.
  • When Lyon and Sherry express doubt about Wendy's abilities, Haru immediately stands up for the child.
    • Even more so, she, Lucy, and Erza quickly step in when it looks like the Tri-Men are about to put the moves on Wendy. Carla even picks up on this.
Carla: Well, it's nice to see that some people have their heads on their shoulders.
    • Not long after this, Blue Fang immediately goes to greet Wendy, who pets him in greeting. It's a small moment, but still cute!
  • After Natsu goes off on his own to fight Oración Seis and the others chase after him, Haru notices that Wendy is hesitant to join the fray, saying that she feels not worthy enough to help fight against the dark guild because she hates violence. Haru attempts to try and talk Wendy into fighting, but she ultimately chooses to run away. Even though her pep talk didn't work, it was still nice of Haru to try and help cheery Wendy up.
  • Carla reveals that even though she chastises Wendy a lot, she only wants her to realize her true potential.
  • After they're captured by Brain and his henchmen, Haru is quick to reassure a depressed Wendy that Natsu and the others will come to their rescue.
    • What's more, Haru willingly places herself in front of Wendy to protect her from Brain, who backhands the Beast Wizard against the wall of the cave where she, Wendy, and Happy are being held captive. Soon after, Wendy uses her magic to heal Haru's wound.
  • In the following chapter, Natsu is tearing apart every Dark Guild in sight, demanding to know where Oración Seis has taken his sister and his friends. Even though he's in a rage, it only goes to show how much he's willing to protect the people he sees as his family.
  • While Wendy is torn on whether or not she should revive a comatose Jellal, who supposedly saved the girl's life sometime after the disappearance of Grandeene, the dragon who raised her. She claims that despite knowing of his crimes, Wendy still loves Jellal, and this causes Haru to encourage her to revive Jellal, not to help Brain and his men carry out their plan, but out of the goodness of her heart. Encouraged, Wendy makes her decision to heal him.
  • Even though it ends up backfiring on her, the fact that Haru is willing to forgive Jellal and even defend him from an enraged Natsu, her own brother, says a lot about how much she's come to forgive him.
  • While trying to catch up with Natsu, Hibiki explains Nirvana's power to reverse darkness and light, or rather, turn evil people good and good people evil and vice versa. As this is happening, Haru begins to succumb to Nirvana's influence, her negative emotions over her belief that Natsu doesn't trust her anymore beginning to show. Lucy rushes to her side and reassures Haru that Natsu still trusts his sister, and after she reminds Haru of all the times that Natsu has said that he was proud of her, the Beast Wizard manages to return to normal and thanks Lucy for helping her.
  • According to Gemini-Gray, the real Gray actually finds Haru more tolerable than Natsu and he sees her as a very capable fighter. Even though it's from the mouth of an imposter, it's actually nice to know what Gray truly thinks about Haru.
  • Even though he annoyed and harrassed them, earlier, the girls actually showing concern for Hibiki when he gets injured by Sagittarius is pretty heartwarming in itself.
  • Another short but sweet moment, but Aquarius' reunion with her boyfriend, Scorpio is actually pretty tender despite the fact that they're actually supposed to be fighting. Nonetheless, Lucy decides to let Aquarius have her alone time with Scorpio and Angel even permits this.
  • After she is beaten to near pulp and Angel continuously talks down on her, Lucy is at Gemini's mercy... but the Twin Spirit ultimately can't kill her. Why? Gemini can sense that Lucy loves the Celestial Spirits, which moves them to tears.
  • Haru and Blue Fang leaping in at the second to protect Lucy also counts as this.
  • Finally, there's the moment where Hibiki downloads a hyper magic spell into Lucy's brain, saying that her love for the Celestial Spirits had moved him.
  • After Natsu, who is still crippled by his motion sickness, pulls the girls onto the raft that he's trapped on, Lucy holds Natsu protectively as they all go over the falls.
  • Haru happily reunites with Blue Fang at the bottom of the falls, where it is revealed that Virgo had saved Natsu, Lucy, and Haru after they fell over.
  • After it is revealed that Lyon is alive, Sherry, who had been possessed by Nirvana, cries of Tears of Joy as a piece of Nirvana's magic leaves her.
  • While climbing up one of Nirvana's legs, Natsu accidentally falls off. Luckily, Happy manages to swoop in at the last second to catch him, which also doubles as an awesome moment.
    • Even more Heartwarming is that Gray is relieved that Natsu is all right, even though he won't admit it.
  • It is soon revealed that due to being influenced by Nirvana, Richard, who was formerly known under his codename, Hot Eye, is now one of the good guys.
    • Not long after this, he stays behind to fight off Midnight, Brain's son.
  • When Natsu is about to be dragged off by Brain to become a new member of Oración Seis, Haru is quick to rush to her brother's rescue.
  • While Jura keeps Brain at bay (although it seems to be more of a one-sided fight), the group reunites with Wendy and Carla. The former not only heals Natsu and Happy of their poisoning, but she also manages to temporarily cure Natsu of his motion sickness.
  • As soon as it's revealed that Cait Shelter is still in danger, Natsu and the others promise Wendy that they'll save her guild.
    • Carla mentally notes that even though the heroes are crazy, she also smiles as she realizes how kind they truly are.
  • Jura shows genuine concern for Richard when he finds out that he's been defeated by Midnight and is sending everyone a telepathic message to head to the bottom of the King's Hall, where Midnight is supposed to be.
    • Of course, it turns out to be a trap set by Brain.
  • In Chapter 12, it is revealed that Jura had shielded Team Natsu from a huge explosion that would have killed them all had he not used his Iron Rock Magic, claiming that while he does envy their youth, he's glad that he was able to protect them.
  • In Chapter 13, it is revealed that the rest of the alliance are alive but struggling to keep Christina up in the air. In order to give Team Natsu, who was defeated by Brain's alter-ego, Zero, the boost it needs, they each give individual pep talks.
    • Lyon tells Gray to get up and show what a disciple of Ur can do. Despite the fact that the two still bicker, it shows that Lyon still cares deeply for Gray and is proud of the man he's turning into.
    • Sherry admits that she hates Lucy and believes that she's really clumsy and vain, but she envies the fact that despite her flaws, she gives everything she has for the sake of others.
    • Erza calls out to Haru, telling her that while she can be a bit headstrong and emotional, and there were often times that she feels like she's not strong enough, whenever things looked bleak, Haru would always push herself to the limit and that Erza believes in her and Blue Fang.
    • Even though she acted indifferently toward Happy and claims that she hasn't come to like him, Carla insists that the blue cat not give up and that he should at least have a few more lives left in him.
    • Finally, Wendy shouts to Natsu that he has to get up and that he can't die, yet, because she knows that he's Cait Shelter's last hope, and she tearfully begs Natsu to answer.
    • As soon as everyone gives out their messages...Team Natsu finally stands up, deciding that they're not out of the fight, just yet. It also doubles as an awesome moment.
  • Once again, Natsu is prepared to fight Jellal, but Haru soon stands in his way to defend him from her brother. When Natsu asks Haru why he's so quick to protect Jellal, Haru claims that she can see that he truly is trying to change, even though he has amnesia, leaving Jellal touched.
  • Soon after, Jellal takes an attack meant for the Dragneel Siblings from Zero, who was getting annoyed with their banter.
    • After Jellal hands Natsu the Flame of Rebuke to recharge his magic, the Fire Dragon Slayer returns the favor by cauterizing his wound shut, claiming that defeating Zero would mean nothing if the Celestial Body Wizard died before he could do so.
  • In Chapter 15, it is soon revealed that Richard survived and saved Natsu, Haru, Blue Fang, and Jellal from Nirvana when it had collapsed.
  • Soon after, Wendy joyfully hugs Natsu for keeping his promise to save her guild.
  • When Richard is about to be taken away along with Jellal, he asks Jura to look for his brother for him in his stead. His brother's name? Wally Buchanan. Upon hearing this, Erza is quick to tell Richard that his brother is alive and well, causing him to burst into Tears of Joy.
  • In the final chapter, everyone is about to have a party to celebrate their victory when they realize that Cait Shelter isn't celebrating with them. As they soon realize that the Cait Shelter Guild isn't real, but a thought projection made by Roubaul, who made it for Wendy so she wouldn't feel lonely, everyone begins to vanish. Wendy begs her friends not to leave her, but Roubaul assures her that she doesn't need Cait Shelter, anymore, and that she now has real, live friends to keep her company. As Wendy mourns the loss of the guild she once called home, Erza, Natsu, and the others soon invite her to join Fairy Tail, which, after a moment of hesitation, the Sky Dragon Slayer accepts.
    • As the group walks home, Haru notes that while the battle against Oración Seis was grueling and harsh, and they did lose a couple of friends, Fairy Tail at least has a new member to their family: Wendy.
Haru: (thinking) Secretly... I've always wanted a little sister!

     Natsu and Wendy's Day Out

  • In Chapter 1, Natsu is about to go out on a job to get food money when he notices Wendy sitting by herself. Knowing that she's still having a hard time adjusting to being in Fairy Tail, Natsu decides to take the Sky Dragon Slayer with him so she wouldn't feel lonely.
    • It is stated that everyone was quick to welcome Wendy to the guild, and Elektra was quick to claim her as one of her kids.
  • In Chapter 2, there are several moments that show Natsu and Wendy bonding:
    • During the carriage ride to Gilea Town, Natsu is actually enjoying the ride due to Wendy using her Troia spell in advance. When Natsu notices Wendy staring out the window, he shares a chocolate bar with her.
    • As the two stop to eat at a restaurant, the waitress mistakes Wendy for Natsu's little sister and calls her cute, but Natsu doesn't even try to correct her and agrees that Wendy is cute, which flusters her a bit but also makes her feel good.
    • After the two finish their meal, Natsu lets out a huge belch. When Wendy lets out a smaller but just as noisy burp, Natsu actually laughs and praises her.
    • The two end up pulling a Dine and Dash with Wendy using her Sky Dragon Roar to help them escape the angry chef. After they find refuge on a rooftop, Wendy laughs about the experience.
  • Chapter 3 contains even more moments:
    • Natsu decides to give Wendy combat training, and when she uses a Sky Dragon Iron Fist for the first time, she's ecstatic, and Natsu just praises her proudly.
    • As the two watch the sunset, Natsu and Wendy talk about their respective dragon parents. The two have become incredibly close in such a short amount of time and it's just so sweet to see.
  • In Chapter 4, Wendy helps Natsu defeat the boss of the bandits by enhancing his strength with one of her support spells, and just when the boss is about to try and attack Natsu from behind, the Sky Maiden jumps in the way and delivers a Sky Dragon Iron Fist, sending the brute flying!
  • In the final chapter, Natsu and Wendy have been picked up by Erza and the others, who are disappointed in the former for getting her involved in an eat-and-run, as well as destroying the town. Despite that, however, Wendy claims that she likes being with Natsu because he was someone who actually understood her. Upon seeing the bond that the two Dragon Slayers formed, the others smile warmly and decide to make Wendy an official member of their team.
