Our bonds can be reforged time and again. You need only to say the word.
Being a throwback to the more traditional games in the series alongside being a love-letter to the franchise as a whole, Engage has moments like these that thank everyone for saving their series back in 2012, showing just how far it has come. Even among the happily cheesy storyline alongside a variety of funny characters, you should be prepared to engage in some of the most adorable, wholesome, and relieving moments here.

     Story
  • Alear reuniting with their mother, despite their memory loss, is touching to see.
  • It’s revealed later in the game that Alear is not Lumera’s biological child. Instead, they are the child of Sombron, a Fell Dragon by blood and one of her enemies. That Lumera showed kindness to Alear regardless and considered them to be her adoptive child shows how kind she is.
    • After learning their true heritage, Alear's army refuse to leave their leader. They remind them that what they do in the present is more important than their past misdeeds.
  • Despite learning of what she had done as her other self, Veyle manages to regain control of her body long enough to throw Alear back Sigurd’s Ring. And while she is heading away, she tells Alear that she enjoyed every minute of her short friendship with them.
  • Alear and Veyle are able to convince Sombron to make one last attempt to reunite with the Emblem of Foundations so he can have some measure of peace. Even if he definitely doesn't deserve it, it's still a remarkable display of compassion from the heroes.
  • In the final battle, if you pit Celica and Roy against the Corrupted holding the War Father and Demon Dragon Emblems (Duma and Idunn respectively), the former two will sympathize with their former enemies and promise to free their souls instead of saying something badass like the others. Remember, Duma and Idunn are anti-villains at best who only become evil due to something beyond their control or because of being controlled by someone elsenote .
Celica: We meet again Duma... though I'm not sure you are him. Please, do no more harm. Allow your great and weary soul the rest it deserves.
Roy: Why are you here - and in that form? We have no quarrel. So... I'll do my part to stop this. And I'll again free your soul from endless fighting.
  • During the ending credits we get various images showing scenes of the character's lives after the war.
    • Alear is sworn in as the Divine Dragon monarch, now wearing an outfit resembling their mother.
    • Hortensia is visiting her father's grave with her retainers.
    • Veyle and Mauvier are walking through a village, with Veyle looking back in surprise at a girl who passed by with her doting father, a girl who looks like a much younger version of Marni. Perhaps this indicates that Marni has somehow been reborn into a kind family like she always wanted.
    • Anna is shown happily reuniting with her family, an adult and teenage Anna respectively being shown with her.
    • The very last image that is shown after the credits end is a Group Picture Ending of Alear together with all twelve Ring Emblems, depicting as if they're bidding farewell to the player. They're all shown to be smiling too.

     Paralogues
  • At the end of their Paralogues, the DLC Emblems get to reunite with main Emblems from their respective game if you currently have them.

     Fell Xenologue
  • The Four Winds, unlike their Hound doppelgangers, were allies of Alt-Alear and are much more entertwined with each other. There really is a world where Zephia, Griss, and Marni could be part of a real family after all.
  • Many of the boss conversations from the Alternate Royals, Tear Jerkers though they may be, have their share of heartwarming moments.
    • Alternate Alcryst stands out as while he is an arrogant and abusive prince and brother, has a very evident soft spot for the counterparts of his fallen retainers, as he bitterly confides in them how much it hurt to lose them. Citrinne and Lapis, for their part, reassure him that their counterparts likely died happy and loved him right back.
    • Diamant gives his defeatist of a counterpart a full-blown Dare to Be Badass speech, dropping an Armor-Piercing Response that if he doesn't surrender on the spot, then he has a reason to keep fighting as Brodia's king.
  • As depressing as the fate of almost all the people of alternate Elyos is, it's repeatedly indicated that many or all of them have a pretty good afterlife awaiting them.

     Supports
  • Yunaka's entire support chain with Alear is this, as she slowly opens up to Alear and loses a lot of her self-loathing, with Alear never pressuring her into talking about her past and supporting her every step of the way, even knowing that she's hiding something from them.
    • Her S-Support with Alear is especially heartwarming, as she finally builds up enough courage to open up about her past as the assassin Larimar, and when she's done, Alear reveals a secret of their own; she's the most important person to them, and they want her to always be by their side. When they give her the Pact Ring, Yunaka says that the ring must be precious to them, to which they respond that she's precious to them, and that's why they want her to have it, no matter who she is.
  • Fogado and Yunaka's A-Support has the latter hoping that someday she can enjoy parties without worrying that somebody will try to kill her, and looks forward to someday being able to attend fancy balls with Fogado.
  • Pandreo's supports with Alcryst involve inviting the normally introverted prince to parties. By the A support, Alcryst actually had fun, and eagerly looks forward to doing it again. He even lets out a wolf-howl as enthusiastic as Pandreo's own! (A huge contrast to his... pathetic attempt at one in the C rank)
  • Merrin's outspoken interest in looking and sounding cool, and her embarrassment when caught with her hair down, sounds rather vain at first. Then in her supports with Timerra, Merrin recounts her backstory as a penniless peasant in a remote village until the day she saved Timerra's life without knowing that Timerra was the crown princess. When Timerra knighted Merrin for her heroism, Merrin began making a conscious effort to appear cool, in control, and a great warrior - but not for her own ego. Merrin is trying to be a role model to young women from poor circumstances like she was, and set an example for other girls to follow.
  • In Hortensia's Support chain with Alcryst, she decides to help him be more confident after he requests her to teach him. Two failed attempts later, Hortensia tells Alcryst that she is going to stop trying to help him, as she accepts him for who he is, and gives Alcryst a valuable lesson how to make friends.
Hortensia: I think I understand why you came to me for help in the first place. It was because you thought confidence would bring you closer to people, right?
Alcryst: Well...yes. I thought that gaining confidence might lead to more meaningful friendships with everyone.
Hortensia: Lovely sentiment, but you don't need to reinvent yourself for it. Sure, you're kind of a downer. So what? You've got plenty of great qualities too. That's why we're friends. You don't need to change a thing.

     Other
  • On Alear's birthday (the date determined by the player character), every member of the party and all the Emblems present will congratulate them and give gifts when spoken to. If Alear has S-supported then the message their partner gives will be different and call attention to their relationship. For instance:
Ivy: Today is a solemn reminder that I would not be who I am without you. Happy birthday, my love.
  • Almost every interaction with Sommie, the adorable creature that serves as guardian spirit of the Somniel, is guaranteed to melt the heart of any animal lover. If you raise its affection meter high enough, it'll follow Alear around the Somniel like a loyal puppy.
