It's pretty fitting that a game starring cute bug heroes would be full of heartwarming moments.

Moment Subpages are Spoilers Off. You Have Been Warned.
  • Vi & Jaune's reconciliation.
    • Before the events of the game, they got into a really big fight because Jaune kept bullying Vi about wanting to be an explorer, and the latter got angry, insulted Jaune's painting skills, and left the Hive. When they meet again later on, Vi's sidequest involved a big fetch-quest to get red paint for her to finish a painting to help get them back on good terms. This ultimately takes them to Metal Island to begin the fetch quest, where Vi has to pay 400 berries to buy an expensive toy. Despite being shocked at first, she ultimately puts aside her greed and buys itnote , surprising both Kabbu & Leif. After the fetch-quest is completed, and the red paint is acquired, they return to Jaune. Both of them open up about being regretful of their treatment towards each-other.
Jaune: I... I was quite inconsiderate wasn't I? My little sister... Please forgive me.
Vi: Only if you forgive me back!
Jaune: ...It's settled then. Welcome home.
    Vi: Jaune! (they embrace)
    • And what does Jaune use the red paint for? A painting of her & Vi walking together happily in a field. The two hug again and promise each other never to get into another fight.
Vi: You're really the best artist in the hive!
Jaune: And you its best explorer!
    • There's another bee who states her desire to paint a picture better than Jaune's. If you've finished Vi's request, she responds that she doubts anyone can surpass Jaune.
  • Kabbu is constantly trying to cheer his team-mates up. He gives them a pep-talk in the Golden Settlement when they start feeling like they don't belong. Fittingly enough, this is also a battle ability, which he can use to revive his allies!
    • In return, Vi and Leif do their best to make sure Kabbu always feels included, like making sure he's part of the Golden Settlement ceremonies even though he didn't participate in earlier events.
  • Leif coming to terms with his death and re-birth. When he finds out he is a Cordyceps fungus that inherited his original self's body and memories, he initially has an Existential Horror moment, thinking that he's a mindless zombie faking being a bug. Both Vi and Kabbu assure him that they genuinely like him for who he is, regardless of what his "true form" may be. He is very grateful. He is also re-united with his family once he does this, and they welcome him back with open arms.
  • While some of the game's sidequests involve fights and exploration, a lot of them are just simple tasks, like looking around a completely safe village for a lost hat that the client's mommy had given them. It's not always the most intimidating missions that can mean the most to a bug, after all, and the looks on their faces can warm your heart.
    • Though not of an official quest, the T&W's Inn sidequest stands out. Defiant Root's inn has a sign featuring a termite and a wasp, but when you enter, only the wasp is there, and is constantly down in the dumps, mentioning having to come to terms with something, but never actually explaining what (not that it could be much less obvious). Much, much later on, at the Termite Kingdom's hotel, you actually meet the termite, who's bummed about the kingdom's industrial vibe. One small talk with her later, you can come back and meet them both, together at last. They even give you a discount.
  • After spending most of the game loathing and distrusting her, it's touching to see Leif put his faith in Queen Elizant II after she reveals her true colors, doubly so when she reveals that his newfound trust means the world to her.
  • After failing to stop the Wasp King from making off with the artifacts to find the Everlasting Sapling, Queen Elizant II enters into a Heroic BSoD and views herself as an utter failure of a queen. Queen Vanessa II then steps in, saying that Elizant did what she could and only gave up the artifacts to save her people. Vanessa then states that she only wishes she were as good of a ruler as Elizant.
  • In front of Termite Colosseum, Team Snakemouth meets the grieving child who was upset over the fact that she was unable to buy the limited Green Ranger plushie after saving up for too long. If Team Snakemouth was carrying their own Green Ranger plushie for their entire journey, they can give it to her. Vi and Leif then question Kabbu's decision, and he points out that, even though Bug Rangers inspired him to become an explorer, they already became superheroes on their own right and bested many obstacles in the way, surpassing Bug Rangers in an essence, so he decides to let her have the toy so Bug Rangers would inspire her to be brave as well. After that, he gives his toy to the child, making her bursting with joy, and when she considers giving them her savings, they respond that this plushie is completely free for her to have and advice her to spend her savings on a good food instead. In fact, even Vi, who normally always demands a reward for everything, decides to not ask her for reward, letting her enjoy herself. She even says that Kabbu must have niceness as a kind of superpower. Even better, the name of achievement you get for giving her the plushie? "A Good Deed".
  • With encouragement from Vi, Samira manages to be become successful offscreen. So much that you can find her on Metal Island.
Vi: Woah! Samira's here!? Did she get a discount!?
Kabbu: She must be doing incredibly well!
Leif: These are really high profile clients. It's thanks to you, Vi.
Vi: Nah. It's all 'cuz she worked hard!
  • There's a homeless bug in the Termite Kingdom that asks you to give them a berry. You can do so, and they're clearly grateful.
    • If you examine them, Vi recognizes how this bug clearly isn't able to go earn berries themselves, and agrees with Kabbu that they should give what they can.
    • Similarly, when examining a bug on the inn roof, a conversation about daydreaming ends this way:
Vi: I hope his dreams come true. Mine sure are!
  • Right at the beginning of post-game, Kabbu ask Vi and Leif if they could go back to the Wild Swamplands. They question why he would go back to such a dangerous location. Kabbu's response? He wants to pay his final respects to his master and friend. When they get there, Kabbu makes a makeshift grave for them. He tells them about the adventure he's had with his new friends and how they would have surely gotten along with each other. While they'd never replace them, he tells them one final goodbye and leaves them, finally forgiving himself for surviving.
