Monica being alive for a post-credits
  • Isn't it rather ridiculous for a game that has no guarantee of getting a sequel, and even if there is a sequel, shouldn't the developers have better ideas for a big bad instead of her?
    • Monica has the advantage of being in relatively few tie-ins, and as a super-scientist, can open the door to all sorts of potential plots. She may not be that big a deal on her own, but she's flexible, and that counts for a lot.
    • The game getting a sequel or not isn't an issue, it's got a live service thing and they're having post-game expansions with the new characters, which from the Kate teaser seems to all have their own story stuff, which Mon seems to be the Big Bad of. Given that the game's positioning AIM as their big bad, Monica is one of the bigger name AIM leaders so it makes sense.
      • She's not a bad villain, just underwhelming given the entire breadth of the Marvel Universe to draw from.

     Tony's account
  • Why did Tony even have an account on the AIM server? He hadn't been part of AIM since it absorbed Stark Industries, and IT people are supposed to remove accounts of ex-employees shortly after they leave for security reasons. You know, so people can't log in and steal company proprietary data from the account, like Kamala did in the second mission.
    • It might have been left up as bait for the Resistance; Kamala is found out seconds after accessing it, indicating that they have good enough security to very quickly ID anyone who accesses their servers. Note as well the footage that is immediately linked to it; it seems to show Cap being betrayed by Tarleton but in actuality it shows Cap ordering Tarleton to go to the command deck, then blowing up the reactor himself, without the context of why. It's likely the account is left up for someone like Kamala to access, exposing herself so AIM can quickly narrow down members of the Resistance for capture in a way that's relatively 'safe' for them; if they successfully escape and leak the footage, AIM can then just 'reveal' the full footage and make up some spiel about Tarleton wanting to spare Captain America's legacy, thereby painting the Resistance as manipulative hackers only spreading half-truths.
    • It might have been Tony's Stark Industries account that was incorporated into AIM's network as a result of the acquisition, but for some reason or another it was never locked or purged. Such security oversights have happened in real life.
    The Interrogation
  • Why the hell did everyone think it was a good idea for Bruce to interrogate Monica?
    • That's the one I really don't get. Last thing you want in an interrogation is to send someone with an emotional attachment to the person you want info from into the interrogation. And God forbid she says something to set him off; hard to get answers out of someone who's been turned into a thin red paste.
    • The Avengers were on a deadline and they knew conventional questioning and torture wasn't going to work on Monica. Sending in Bruce was honestly their last chance gamble in hopes that Monica actually did have feelings for Bruce. Too bad they were wrong when it turns out she's a Mad Scientist.
    • It was also not that risky...considering they had Black Widow ready to take over if it didn't work. As Black Widow says, there's a small chance she still has feelings for him. Plus, BRUCE needed it as catharsis.
    Captain Marvel trained Ms. Marvel?
  • Early in the game, when swinging thru Jersey City, Kamala gives thanks to Captain Marvel for training her in using her powers. However, later in the same sequence, Kamala is surprised she has powers in the first place, and it seems to be the first time she used them when fighting the AIM bots. Is this an example of Gameplay and Story Segregation or am I missing something?
    • She watched videos of Captain Marvel to inspire her, and it wasn't the first time she used her powers. It was the first time she used her powers IN BATTLE. She was surprised when she hit the punk, because she didn't mean to bop him.
    Was Kamala somehow special?
  • So throughout the early part of the game Aim and Tarleton keep bringing up that they want Kamala. Fair, she may just be one of many Inhumans, but she has the data recording thing. Then things get weird once she joins up with the Avengers. namely Bruce and Tony. Tarleton keeps pointing out that he doesn't care about them, they can go do what they want, he just wants the girl. I can't assume he'd assume Kamala would be the one with the data, so why would he put her over the Avengers in terms of importance. The Hulk and Iron man are still power he does not control, so her being an Inhuman doesn't put her up. And he can't possibly have fathomed that she'd give a rousing speech at the right time to rally them. I can't be the only one who thought her pliable nature was going to be somehow important in the Adaptoid project.
    • It's important to understand that Tarleton actually ISN'T the Big Bad that Kamala thinks he is. He's genuinely of the opinion that the Inhuman condition is a disease and he's trying to cure it. The Avengers aren't Inhumans and he thinks of them as failures versus his enemies. At this point he's still a Well-Intentioned Extremist.
AIM sitting on the Cap footage
  • ...so, am I the only one wondering why AIM hadn't released the footage of Cap smashing the reactor. Without the context that only he could provide (or at least only him, George or Monica), it comes off Steve directly causing the tragedy of A-Day, and releasing the footage would tarnish his image, and likely cause not only the public but the other Avengers to cease looking up to him. If George still respected Steve it'd be one thing but he noted his desire to tear down Steve's statue, so why would they sit on the footage.
    • Releasing that footage would expose that George was next to the reactor room when it exploded and raise unwanted questions about his status given how exposure to Terrigan turns people into inhumans. Plus, given how well respected Cap is even after everyone has trashed the Avenger's reputation there was always the risk it could backfire and more people start looking into why he smashed the reactor.
