Fridge Brilliance:

  • In episode 10 Brainiac claims he has come to 'Save' Krypton at one point. Off hand it seems that he is just delusional, given the And I Must Scream nature of the way he keeps his victims, but there is actually a logical thread. Consider what he does to Cities, he stores them within an archive, preserved in the last state he interacted with them. Does that sound familiar to you? It should. Because it is the basic description of 'Save' as a computing term. Given that Braniac is an android it makes sense that he would use that term.
    • In the same episode, how does Seg outsmart Brainiac, a 12th level intellect, and send him to the Phantom Zone? Perfectly timed bait. Brainiac gains his knowledge from close observation which takes seconds, but not an instant. However, something as expansive and complex as the Phantom Zone requires more of his time and attention to study. Especially since he was looking at it through the portal device and didn't intend to enter the Phantom Zone personally to analyze it firsthand. If Seg had likely waited a second or two more, Brainiac would have left with Kandor and potential Phantom Zone knowledge. Literal quick thinking tricked Brainiac.

Fridge Horror:

  • Or perhaps Fridge Tear Jerker, Adam is listed as Adaptational Villainy he is not. If Krypton survives then Superman never exists. Consider how many times Superman, and his offshoots, Kara, Connor, etc have saved the universe, not to mention the people he inspired... when you stop to think about it, in the long run, not just from Earth's perspective but the galaxy's perspective in this story Brainiac is the hero.
    • Of course, several of those times he's saved the universe, he was saving it from Brainiac...
