"God, Thank You Woman" seems like just another generic heterosexual Silly Love Song by a gay singer trying to hide his sexuality...until you learn that Boy George said that the song was written in honour of his mother. Suddenly, lines like "Just promise that you'll never leave" make a lot more sense...even if there is something slightly icky about singing "You're the air I breathe" about your own mum.
If you take the lyrics of "Mannequin" literally instead of writing them off as nonsense, it can be one of the best demonstrations of Creating Life Is Awesome. Who better to fall in love with than your own creation?
