Exhibit A is an English found footage horror film (of sorts) about a family for whom one impulsive decision spirals out of control. In Yorkshire, a family attempts to live beyond their means, exacerbated by a single lie on the patriarch Andy (Bradley Cole)'s behalf. It's a 2007 film, but wasn't released on DVD in either the USA or the UK until 2010.
Tropes:
- Affably Evil: Andy seems like a genuinely nice, loving guy, but his behavior makes it hard to regard him as anything but evil.
- Closet Gay: Downplayed as Judith says she's genuinely unsure of her sexuality, but she definitely has a huge crush on Claire.
- Covert Pervert: Judith uses her video camera to sneakily film Claire without her knowledge. The footage is, however, completely innocent and G-rated.
- Daddy's Girl: Judith is very close to Andy, and seems to be his favorite. He still kills her first, though.
- Fictional Fan, Real Celebrity: Andy is a big fan of Eric Morecambe.
- How We Got Here: The story begins with Judith's camera as "Exhibit A" and then rewinds to show how it got that way.
- Pater Familicide: Andy ends up killing his entire family.
- Sibling Triangle: Judith clearly crushes on Claire, who flirts mutually with her brother Joe.
- Slowly Slipping Into Evil: Andy starts off lying about his job, then spirals into trying to kill the guy who got the promotion, viciously beating him, and ultimately kills his whole family.
- Unconfessed Unemployment: A variant. Andy lies to his family and says he got a promotion, when he didn't.
