Do you... Remember them?-Bura

A V-Cinema Reunion Show film of Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger reuniting the five Abaranger from the first time since Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger vs. Abaranger. Also serving as the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the series.

It's been 20 years since the Abaranger defeated the Evolian and the team has gone their separate ways. However, when a new Trinoid emerges and threatens to finish what the long-deceased Evolian started, the rampaging heroes must reunite once more to save the planet. But with their return, the team is confronted with a world that now threatens to turn against them and their reckless rampaging heroism under the direction of Aoi Iota, a young woman who won't stop until she's made sure the Abarangers are hated. Things, only get more complicated when Mikoto Nakadai returns from the dead, now once more aiding the Evolian's new goal. Only the power of their Dino Guts can save the day again!

This movie contains the following tropes:

  • Back from the Dead: Abarangekko brings Mikoto back and brainwashes him to serve him, though Killer proves too stubborn and independent to truly obey his orders. TopGaler himself wasn't brought back entirely, only his soul was, but that's enough to aid the team in the finale.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After Abarangekko has the team on the ropes, Aoi takes Fuyuki to perform the Abaranger dance on a live broadcast, restoring the team's reputation and making the negative energy powering Abarangekko disperse.
  • Brick Joke: Ryoga admits during the first scene that he might've harassed Mai. This situation doesn't get resolved until the final scene post-credits where he meets up with Mai.
  • Canon Discontinuity: The events of both Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger vs. Abaranger and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters are completely ignored for this film, most notably is that in the former film Yatsudenwani had Dino Curry become a worldwide franchise while here Yatsudenwani has just started doing plans for that. The team also hasn't seen each other in the 20 years that have passed; Lije/Mikoto's portal-opening abilities are also absent despite having been a big plot point in Dekaranger vs. Abaranger so Asuka only crosses to Another Earth through a freak wormhole.
  • Character Outlives Actor: Ryunosuke is confirmed to be still alive and travelling the world, despite his actor having died in 2009.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Mikoto, Asuka's daughter, is mentioned (though her name isn't said outright), with Asuka stating she's gotten married recently. He also references his wife, Mahoro and states they've remained together and have had seven children with their eight on the way.
    • Ryoga interrupts Mikoto's henshin sequence by tickling him as payback for interrupting him in prior transformation sequences.
    • Ever since episode 48, Top refers to Mikoto by his real name... But then feels embarrassed enough to ask his partner to keep their terms on their prior situation of calling him "human", which Mikoto agrees to.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Aoi's reason for her hatred on the team is because she was forced to do the Abaranger dance in elementary school and did poorly, resulting in her getting bullied. To make her stop, Yukito presents her with one of her old classmates, Fuyuki. She then states she thought she was very cool, which makes Aoi realizes she might've gone too far.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Mikoto had gone through a redemption in the series proper, so when he's brought back by Abarengekko the latter brainwashes him into being evil again for his plans. Ryoga manages to bring him back to the light in the final act.
  • Here We Go Again!: Once Ryoga makes up with Mai, he cheerfully picks up her and notices she's gotten quite heavy. This doesn't please Mai, and Ranru says he should never say that, making him wonder if he committed harassment again.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Thanks to Aoi's smear campaign, public opinion of the Abarangers have hit an all time low. Once she realizes her mistakes, she goes to fix the damage.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Ryoga does this against the brainwashed Mikoto.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • A couple to Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger vs. Abaranger:
      • In that film Mikoto is brought back to life by Trinoid #0: Saunaginaan accidentally while trying to revive Dezumozorlya which helped to fully screw over his plans, here he gets revived by Trinoid #24: Abarengekko on purpose who also brainwashes him all as part of his plans (and even denies having intended to resurrect Dezumozorlya as the Abarangers assumed he would); also both films have Mikoto go back to the afterlife after all is said and done. Top himself doesn't accompany him in their brief period of life this time entirely, simply spending his time as a disembodied soul.
      • Also, Yatsudenwani had become the CEO of Dinosaur Curry after taking over the company from Sugishita and managed to get the restaurant turned into a worldwide franchise with Sugishita as his secretary; here Yatsudenwani is just starting to expand the brand starting with Dubai, with Yokota serving as his secretary instead.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Played for Laughs. When Nakadai gets the idea to gather hope and positivity to help the Abarangers defeat the giant Abarengekko, he shouts in an unnaturally happy tone about gaining a surge of excitement, Yukito almost blasts him while asking if he really is Mikoto but is stopped by the others.
  • The Power of Hate: After AbareKiller upgrades him to have a Wi-Fi signal ability, Abarengekko gains power from people's unfounded hatred of the Abaranger all bolstered by Aoi's slander campaign online. When Aoi goes back on her actions and helps the Abarangers' reputation be fixed, he loses this power getting brought back to his initial level of power.
  • Put on a Bus: Due to his actor having passed away a decade ago, Ryuunosuke is the only major cast member to not return, being stated to be on a trip around the world, so he isn't able to reunite with his friends, but they do remember him by.
  • Red Herring: Abarengekko says that he will revive "Him" as part of his evil plan, seemingly hinting that he'll bring back Wicked Life God Dezumozorlya but he instead brings back a version of Mikoto Nakadai/AbareKiller when he was evil.
  • The Remnant: Abarengekko (and the Barmias he summons) is all that's left of the Evolian tribe.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After the Abarangers form the Superior Dino Bomber to finish off the small-sized Abarengekko, the Barmias bail out on him.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Mai has become a beautiful woman after twenty years.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: The Abarangers' henshin sequence generates a explosion behind them... That very nearly burns their rears and they even feel the heat despite being far away.
  • We Will Meet Again: Ryoga says this to Mikoto after he fades away again.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: A long one throughout the film actually:
    • Mai has been living in America for the last 20 years, and returns home in the final scene.
    • Yatsudenwani has become the CEO of Dino House and moved to Dubai, planning to expand Dino House overseas. Yokota now works as his secretary.
    • Yukito has quit being a chiropractor after dealing with many idiotic customers that ended up killing his motivation. He's still together with Emiri.
    • Ranru has become the chief vehicle engineer for a team at the Monaco Grand Prix, who ends up winning.
    • Asuka and Mahoro have remained together, having had seven children and on their way to have their eight one. Mikoto/Lije has also gotten married recently.
