• Comments: This is the DEFINITIVE 2012 Version fanfic. I think everyone has read this fic at least once. Fantasia's apparently first foray into fanfic has created this sprawling and almost epic piece of writing that has everyone perfectly in character. Her writing feels like missing pieces of episodes or actual episodes for the series, expanding the mythology of the show in beautiful ways. She also fleshes out April a lot more then the show does. Her April is funny, stubborn, smart, and flawed coming across as an actual character versus a plot device. She also has separate stories for both Falling Season 2 and Falling Season 3.

• Synopsis: I'm just a street rat. I've seen a lot of stuff. However, in one day I had seen a man change into a giant Rat, attacked by four robot like guys in suits, and watched four baby turtles become infants. Sure, okay, no problem. Only one thing has come up as an issue. While the rat man was fleeing for the sewers, he forgot one of the turtles! I can't just leave him. WHAT DO I DO!
• Comments: A very funny fanfic that handles a human becoming a mother figure to the turtles in believable manner. Has three other fan fics in the series. "Father, Mother and four little teens", "Father, Mother and four very muscular teens" and "We'll Never Abandon Him"

• Synopsis: One day, a massive portal from Dimension X opens up over New York, dumping a metric ton of mutagen over the population. This would be called the Megarift Disaster. Much of the population, both human and non-human, are mutated and the populace have to adapt to this change. Because the Turtles have the formula to retromutagen, the Hamato Clan agrees to work with the Earth Protection Force and are now exposed to the world at large. This gives them an opportunity they never had before: to walk the streets as normal people.

• Comments: It gives the Hamato Clan an excuse to walk amongst the populace and operate with more transparency.

Same Difference by Sunny Lighter

• Synopsis: In this universe, Tang Shen survived the Shredder's attack on the Hamato Estate. She and her family move to New York to start a new life, giving birth to quadruplet boys. Years later, Miwa, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo go on patrol on their 15th birthday where they save April o'Neil from the Kraang, their lives becoming that much stranger in the process.
• Comments: It's one of those fanfics that I read and reread over and over again, bidding my time when social pressure compels the author to make a sequel. After all, the original show lasted five seasons and this fanfic covers the first three seasons.

Shards of a Memory by FantasiaWandering

• Synopsis: The Shredder rebuilds the Foot Clan and kills his foster-brother Hamato Yoshi. Tang Shen, believing her husband and daughter dead, moves to New York to start over, only for a chance encounter with the Kraang to turn her into a mutant cat. Now with the name Master Shard, she raises her four mutant-turtle sons in the ways of ninjitsu.
• Comments: It's a shockingly heartfelt take on the "if Tang Shen survived" fanfic plot.
