True Love Waits
is an ‘’Infinity Train’’ one-shot Continuation Fic by TrojanTeapot.
Grace has been put through the wringer, both because of the train she got stuck on and her own terrible choices. But the cherry on top of all this is learning her now-dead boyfriend left her with a bundle of joy.
" True Love Waits" contains the following examples:
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Amelia is capable of far more emotional warmth than canon, giving Grace a badly needed hug when she breaks down over her horrible mistakes.
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: A downplayed example. While One wants to help people, Amelia explores he's still ultimately a machine that is held to certain parameters, and people who don't fit those parameters can be eliminated.
- The Atoner: Both Grace and Amelia are trying to own up for their mistakes on the train.
- Due to the Dead: Despite everything Simon did, Grace feels obligated to give him a proper burial.
- Friend to All Children: Despite her many flaws, Grace always cared for her charges. It is telling when one of them finally gets their number down to zero; she is crying as she's telling Grace goodbye.
- Hates Being Alone: Grace finds being without Simon or her child's charges unsettling. The origami bird provides her companionship, but without speech, it can't fill the void of her loneliness.
- Morning Sickness: Grace's first sign of her pregnancy is vomiting.
- Pet the Dog: Despite being immoral cult leaders, Grace and Simon were willing to give up food to keep the children under their care from starving.
- Reformed, but Not Tamed: Amelia has lost much of her obsession, but she can still get enraged, like when she learns Simon knocked up Grace.
