This fic features examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism: Alpha is one of Rex's stronger adversaries. Here, it's been nothing but helpful to David after possessing his Sandevistan. Justified since Alpha gets what he wants, a physical body to interact with the macro-scale world, and he needs David to keep it.
- Adaptational Superpower Change: Besides the Sandevistan's Super-Speed, David can now manifest weapons from nanites in his body.
- Bait-and-Switch: When David wakes up in his apartment with the Sandevistan already on him and there's a news about rampaging machine coming from Doc's destroyed clinic with nothing but his Chrome hand remaining, David assumed that he was responsible for it when in reality, the rampaging monster was Doc, who got infected with Nanites when he chromed David with the Alpha-possessed Sandevistan.
- Benevolent A.I.: Since all Alpha wants is a physical body to interact with the world, it decided to assist David as best as it could since it managed to achieve this by residing in his Sandevistan.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Alpha residing in the Sandevistan turns its metal black, and its Shapeshifter Weapon constructs are also jet-black, but David uses them for good.
- Destroy the Security Camera: Alpha asks David to press his hand on a nearby wall after every battle to do this so David's identity remains secret.
- Forced Transformation: Those infected by Alpha's Nanites turned into mechanized monsters that is EVOs.
- Healing Factor:
- David gains this thanks to the Nanites inside him.
- When David absorbs nanites from Doc, it also manages to grow back his formerly chromed arm.
- How Do I Shot Web?: Alpha didn't actually know how to pull the Shapeshifter Weapon ability before, so it copies what Rex Salazar does.
- Power Fist: Alpha's and David's first weapon is a pair of these.
- Power Nullifier: David can absorb EVO's Nanites into himself, reverting them back to normal.
- Restrained Revenge: After saving a rat EVO, David decides to let it loose inside Arasaka Academy's vent as a payback for all the misery he had there, hoping that the rat will terrorize the place and ruin its pristine appearance over the years.
- Silicon Snarker: Alpha is certainly one.David: Stop using my full name, it's weird. And shut up.
