• Armor-Piercing Response: Mario says it to SMG4
  SMG4: Mario I get that your mad, but don't take it out on us, we're your friends.
  Mario: if you were really my friend, we wouldn't be here, now would we.
• Big Brother Instinct: Even though Mario may be rude to Luigi, deep down, he cares about him. Also he becomes enraged when Saiko's attack on Luigi left the older brother's life hanging by a thread.
• Breaking the Fourth Wall: Hal Monitor hears the narrator commenting on his arrival after so long, wondering where it came from.
• Disproportionate Retribution: Saiko's response to Mario accidentally running into her while escaping from SMG3 and Meggy? Attempt to beat him up.
• Happily Adopted: After Chris's parents died in a car accident, he was taken in by Swag's family, which is why they essentially became brothers.
• Happy Flashback: Mario has memories with Luigi after Saiko almost killed the latter.
• The Hypocrite: SMG3 doesn't have any problem with beating Mario, however when latter beat him in response, he is indignant.
• Implied Death Threat: Mario said this to Meggy, after she along with SMG3 and Saiko beat him up:
  Mario: shut up, or I'll shut you up, permanently
• Kick the Dog: Saiko, Meggy and SMG3 beat Mario for petty reasons: Saiko because he accidentally run into her, while Meggy blames him for not helping her during Western Spaghetti, even though he couldn't help her. Although SMG3 has a reason, Mario was forced by Marty to steal his notebook or else he would hurt Luigi, the action feels disproportionate.
• Laser-Guided Karma: after Meggy, SMG3 and Saiko beat Mario, he done this to them:
  • He beat and chokes SMG3 for beating him.
  • He shout at Meggy and tells shut up, make her terrified.
  • He beat Saiko in prison not only for beating him, but also almost killing Luigi, leaving a dent.
• Never My Fault: Saiko said that Luigi failed her, but she never tried to make herself a better person. Mario was not happy about it...
• No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
  • SMG3, Meggy and Saiko brutally beat Mario, for petty reasons.
  • Mario finally beat SMG3 and Saiko for beating, also he latter for for almost killing Luigi.
• No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: When Luigi comes to Mario's defense from SMG3, Meggy, and Saiko. Saiko punches Luigi in the chest with all her might, leaving a dent.
• Obfuscating Stupidity: Even after Mario became less stupid, he still pretended to be an idiot, afraid that people would turn away from him.
• The Only One I Trust: After what his "friends" done to him, apart from his brother, Tari becomes the only one he confides and trusts in. However it's subverted, because Bob, Hopkins, Chris, Swag, SMG1 and SMG2 came to his house to support him.
• Rage Breaking Point:
  • After SMG3, Meggy and Saiko beat Mario, Luigi finally snaps and stands up for him.
  • After that, Mario beats up SMG3 for it.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: After Saiko almost killed Luigi, she also blame him for failing. To which Mario gave this answer:
  Mario: don't you DARE talk about my brother like that, he never failed you, you failed him, like the pathetic piece of human trash that you are. He put so much time, effort, and heart into teaching you, and how do you thank him? By putting a dent in his chest, almost killing him.
