The War Arc is a Wattpad fanfic
of SMG4 created by NoOnesThere. It centers around after the genesis arc, with Tari and SMG4’s gang facing the consequences of meeting old and new enemies. Despite it keeping its humor, the fic takes itself seriously enough and has a darker tone even more than the other arcs.

- Action Girl: With the original cast, Natasha and Mariah from the Squidbeak Splatoon also counts as this.
- A Day In The Lime Light: This fic focuses primarily on Tari.
- Ax-Crazy: Maxwell who throughout the arc showed more and more insanity and craziness trying to blow up Inkopolis.
- Big Bad: Maxwell Gaines was the construction worker who attempted to destroy Inkopolis out of his hatred towards Inklings and Octolings.
- The Bus Came Back: Team Killer Ink returns on the fic, now named as Violet (Leader), Jennie (Sniper), Damon (Thug) and Walter (Commander).
- Call-Back: It makes references to Desti, Axol, Francis and SMG0 many times.
- Cerebus Syndrome: While still having a bit of the comedy aspect, the fic actually has darker moments and deep plots while taking itself seriously
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: Several
- Maxwell murdered a teenage inkling Cassie by cutting her head off
- Walter and Jennie got blown up with a rocket launcher by Maxwell
- Maxwell meets a several injuries, like multiple shot wounds and burns on his face before his death, which is getting shot in the gut and head
