- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: You have the incredibly suicidal and brooding Anon, vs the kind and understanding Sunset.
- Bully Turned Buddy: Sunset becomes Anon's first friend on a long time, and later becomes something more.
- Didn't Think This Through: Anon calls Sunset out for wanting to puruse what could potentially be a pity relationship and later romance, since such relationships don't last long. Sunset acknowledges his point, but makes it clear she will make sure their relationship doesn't descend into that.
- Everybody Knew Already: Sunset was already aware of Anon's suicidal tendencies, and stopped him from taking his life for good.
- Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: Anon does eventually believe Sunset's sincerity, but it still uneasy around her, which Sunset totally understands.
- The Atoner: Sunset is trying to be one for Anon, feeling horribly guilty for having destroyed his life.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Sunset is this for Anon. She ends up invoking this, being aware of his suicidal tendencies and wanting to keep him from throwing his life away.
- Noodle Incident: It is never specified what Sunset did to Anon, except that it made him a complete social pariah, and even the police were called on him. It's implied Anon is actually Soloman Tary, a posthumous character from Some Mistakes Are Forever, so the most likely incident was Sunset framing him as a pedophile.
- Reformed, but Rejected: Anon is understandably suspicious of Sunset's true motives, and often accuses her of plotting something.
- Relationship Upgrade: Sunset becomes Anon's full-fledged girlfriend at the end of the story, complete with them consummating their relationship.
