Let Me Pave The Path Until You Come Back
is a two part fan fiction by ElliahRose where Peter Parker is Tony Stark and Pepper Pott's presumed dead son that they just got reunited with.
Part one is Finding Their Way Home and deals with the reunion, the Avengers trying to find out who Spider-Man is, the Winter Solider, and figuring out what happened during the two years between the kidnapping and when Peter came to be in the care of Richard and Mary Parker.
Part two is Home Isn't Just A Place and deals with Peter losing his powers and finding the missing child of Peter's therapist.

- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
- In canon, Tony didn't propose to Pepper until ending of Spider-Man: Homecoming. In this story, Tony and Pepper have been married since before Peter was born.
- In canon, Steve and Bucky were two straight guys who were just really good friends. In this story, they are lovers who had to keep their relationship a secret in the 1940s.
- Adaptational Sexuality: Steve and Buck were depicted in canon as being straight. In this story, they were a gay couple before the events of Captain America: The First Avenger separated them.
- Air-Vent Passageway: When HYDRA tries to kidnap Peter from his bedroom, Peter uses the air vent to escape.
- Armour-Piercing Question: Steve asks Fury one after Fury says he wants the captured Winter Solider aka Bucky turned over to SHIELD.
“And what do you intend to do with him?” Steve demanded. “If we leave Bucky in your hands will you treat him like a person? Or will you treat him like a weapon? Because that makes you no better than Hydra.”
- Blatant Lies: Peter denies that Flash was beating him up even though he has a black eye that's hard not to notice and Happy saw the incident.
- Death Faked for You: Peter's kidnappers lead everyone to believe Peter was dead.
- Dramatic Irony:
- Shortly after Tony is reunited with Peter and introduces him to the Avengers, Fury tasks the Avengers to find out who Spider-Man is and recruit him. At the same time, Peter wonders how he would be able to keep his parents from finding out he's Spider-Man.
- After learning HYDRA is after Peter, Peter is not allowed to leave the tower. After a couple a weeks, he gets cabin fever and sneaks out. Naturally he gets caught and brought back to the tower. After being lectured about reckless and dangerous what he did was, he is sent to his bedroom only for HYDRA to attempt to kidnap him. From his bedroom.
- Failed a Spot Check: Somehow the police not only forgot Peter had been stabbed recently but didn't notice that he was bleeding from the wound when they brought him into the station to question him.
- Flashback Nightmare: Peter has reoccurring nightmares about the two years between his kidnapping and adoption by Richard and Mary Parker.
- Hostage Situation: HYDRA kidnaps May and threatens to kill her if the Avengers don't return Peter to them.
- I Did What I Had to Do: Bucky's explanation for the actions he took to protect Peter when HYDRA decided to terminate the experiment that Peter was a test subject for.
- Internal Reveal: The Avengers learn Peter is Spider-Man at the end of chapter 14 of Finding Their Way Home
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Why Tony and Pepper propose joint custody of Peter with May Parker.
- Noodle Incident:
- What happened the last time Clint Bulton fixed breakfast. It left scorch marches on the ceiling that Tony has yet to clean.
- Thor trying to make pop-tarts. Clint blames the scorch marches he is accused of making on that.
- How Bucky got a plane for him and Peter to go to Siberia. Peter decides he doesn't want to know.
- Oh, Crap!: Peter's reaction when Natasha explains to him that if the HYDRA agents weren't trying to kill him, they were trying kidnap him again.
