Faith of the Heart
is a Disney fanfic written by DisneyFan-01 on DeviantArt. Originally starting as a webcomic in 2008 known as Faithful Hearts, it stars Marina Seadrift, a woman in her thirties who travels across the Disney multiverse with her companions to stop the Nightmares and Maleficent, their leader.
Detractors consider the fanfic a blatant ripoff of Kingdom Hearts.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Faux Action Girl: Marina herself. Despite knowing how to fight, she doesn't seem to live up to her abilities.
- Filler: The main plot gets mentioned as early as Chapter 4, yet most of the chapters afterward consist of exploring a particular world, dealing with the Nightmares, and defeating the villain there.
- Only Sane Man: Donald Duck tends to call Marina out on many things, but the other characters act as if he's in the wrong and not her. Let's also not forget that he had every right to be suspicious of John Silver in the first place and was a lot more competent than everyone else.
- Skewed Priorities: Marina worries more about her ruined clothes than being in danger.
- Woman Child: Marina's in her thirties but has the mind and actions of a young child or teenager.
- You Don't Look Like You: Some of the characters in the author's drawings look Off-Model from canon. The most glaring example is Marina herself, whose appearance is consistently inconsistent.
