  • Angst? What Angst?: Marina doesn't seem too upset about losing her husband despite the story implying otherwise.
  • Arc Fatigue: Most arcs drag on without adding much relevance to the overall plot, with the Hundred Acre Wood arc being one example.
  • Bile Fascination: Some people end up reading the fanfic to see if it was as bad as readers made it out to be.
  • Canon Defilement: Aside from Maleficent, nearly every Disney character, even with some of their canon personality traits, acts as if everything centers around Marina, does almost nothing while spouting banter during battle scenes, or suffers from Chickification.
  • Designated Hero: In the fanfic, Marina is supposed to be a kindhearted but troubled woman who goes on a journey to learn to love again and defend the numerous worlds from the Nightmares. However, many see her as a useless, self-centered character who does nothing but complain and acts like a spoiled child. Not helping matters is earlier on in the story, she goes shopping in Las Vegas instead of helping the other characters locate and defeat the Nightmares.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: A few readers seemed to prefer shipping Marina with Goofy rather than with her 'intended' love interest, John Silver. Heck, a few other male characters who have some form of interaction with Marina qualify.
  • Squick: Marina is apparently in love with John Silver; what takes the cake, however, is the fact that the original comic had them in sexual situations, despite the author claiming that Marina is a virgin.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Robert. Despite his intriguing backstory, he's only ever brought up a few times throughout the entire story.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Readers would've preferred seeing Mickey facing against the Nightmares in Merlin's cottage instead of the Hundred Acre Wood arc.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Donald. The story expects readers to hate him because he's a jerk to Marina, but he had every right to call her out on her spoiled and prideful personality. He also gets sympathy for being reasonable, especially when he had good reasons to suspect John Silver since the captain had coincidentally shown up the same time the Nightmares did.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Mickey himself is this. He's supposedly a responsible king, yet he releases John Silver for not being the one to command the Nightmares to attack Merlin's cottage despite the possibility that the captain could've still committed the deed. Readers also give Mickey more vitriol for forcing Marina to accompany the other characters in exploring the different worlds despite her complaining about it.
  • Wangst: Whenever Marina thinks about her deceased husband, Robert.
