Code Fantasy is a fanfiction crossover between Code Geass and Final Fantasy XIV by DarkFusion

A year before the events of Code Geass canon, Lelouch is made an offer - in exchange for a differnet kind of magical power, he must become a hero for two worlds. Accepting the offer, he finds himself transported to Eorzea, where he embarks on a new journey against foes beyond anything he's ever encountered. This path, however, isn't his alone to walk.

It can be read here.

  • Adaptational Badass: Lelouch and Kallen are the Warriors of Light here, so both get powers they never had in canon.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Kallen and Lelouch canonically have a commander-subordinate relationship that eventually turns into romance which plays a big factor in Lelouch turning her away once he starts planning the Zero Requienm. Here, the two meet in Eorzea slightly less than a year before canon, and end up on more equal footing as allies, though so far it hasn't gone further than that.
  • Chess Motifs: As always, present due to Lelouch being an avid chess player, but here, they're turned on their head by K'lyhia, who asks Lelouch how he would play if the two of them had a set of three games where only the pawns would be returned at the end. Lelouch realizes that she's seeing how he would handle a real battle, with the pawns representing fresh recruits and the other pieces being specialists, and their lack of replacement representing attrition. He's actually glad to have someone who can debate strategy with him in these terms.
  • Decomposite Character: The Warrior of Light from canon is split into Kallen and Lelouch, with the possibility of more showing up later.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Kallen is left flat footed when Lelouch takes her to the Ashford Clubhouse and reveals some of his personal life to her. She's surprised both by his sister and Sayoko, and is especially shocked by how sincerely loyal the latter is, even addressing him with honorifics without a hint of being forced.
  • Exact Words: Lelouch brushes off his adventures in Eorzea as fitness training to Shirley. He is getting a lot of athletics in, but this is still stretching the concept to its limits.
  • Foil: Lelouch and Kallen as the Warriors of Light - Lelouch is an exiled Britannian prince of common birth on his mother's side, while Kallen half Japanese, half-Britannian but was adopted into her father's family after his wife proved unable to have children. Lelouch's world is focused around his younger sister Nunnally while Kallen's is centered on her older brother Naoto. In Eorzea, Lelouch is an Arcanist and thus specializes in fighting through summoned entities while Kallen is a pugilist who gets in her opponents faces.
  • Gilligan Cut: As Lelouch muses over how whatever resistance group he will lead will likely need Knightmare pilot training, the scene immediately shifts to Kallen, showing that he might not be as limited in resources as he thinks.
  • Heroes Gone Fishing: An alluded literal example - Lelouch ends up joining the culinerean and fishing guilds and mentally notes that he finds fishing to be strangely relaxing compared to everything else he does.
  • Master Actor: As in canon, Lelouch is an impressive actor. He's able to successfully throw Shirley off his trail by faking just the right amount of fake shame to make her assume his claims of starting fitness training are genuine.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Kallen is left flat footed when she sees how relaxed Lelouch is when fishing, which while not relevant plot wise is a major indication that he's finally starting to live a little as oppose to just coasting through life.
  • You Remind Me of X: Kallen quickly starts comparing how Lelouch reacts regarding Nunnally to how Naoto reacts around herself, recognizing the Big Brother Instinct they share.
