All Cats Go To Heaven
is a fanfiction of Rick Griffin's Housepets! webcomic written by Canzetyote. After Marvin gets hit and killed by Sasha's drunken father, we are given glimpses of Tiger's tragic backstory as Zach helps him through the process of mourning.
This work contains the following tropes:
- Break the Cutie: Tiger has been through a lot.
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: Subverted. Marvin is quickly killed off in the first chapter but later appears in heaven in the 3rd and 7th chapters.
- Get Out!: Zach says this to Jessica after she picks a fight with Tiger.
- Hurt/Comfort Fic: Tiger is the hurt one and various characters are his comforters.
- Knight of Cerebus: While Housepets! is generally a safe and PG comic, the two OCs Rover and Spike are responsible for the cause of Tiger's psychosis.
- Meaningful Funeral: One is hosted for Marvin in the second chapter.
- Never Got to Say Goodbye: Tiger laments this for much of the fic until he meets Marvin in heaven in the 7th chapter
- Nothing Is Scarier: Happens in chapter 4 when Joey tries to babysit Tiger. Little did he know that Tiger was watching him in the shadows.
- Prone to Tears: Shockingly, Tiger was this as a puppy.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Tiger, Joey and Mungo all pull this on Sabrina in chapter 7.
- Took a Level in Jerkass:
- Bino was always a Jerkass in the canon but he really kicks things up a notch by making fun of Tiger for crying over Marvin's death.
- Jess became much worse than she normally is in chapter 5 by calling out Tiger for believing that Marvin exists as an angel. A fight breaks out between the two of them and Zach finally snaps, dumping her.
