Danny Phantom: Stranded

Everyone Has Standards in this series.

Main Characters

Danny Fenton

  • Despite how much of a bossy and unpleasant person she was at the time, Danny tries to save Star from falling off the boat.
  • Also, despite how attractive she is, Danny has no interest in Colette due to her poor treatment of Star and her unpleasant nature.
    • Even in an amnesiac state, Danny can't stand Colette and refuses to let her kiss him.
  • He's rather amused and intrigued that his in-universe comic adaptation has been the subject of many Crossover Couple stories, though he admits he only ever reads tasteful ones, avoiding anything NSFW.
  • Super Danny may want Fun Danny out of the way to be with Star, but he's unwilling to leave him with Colette.
  • Danny typically tries to avoid physical violence when dealing with bullies and jerks instead of ghosts, feeling that it will only cause more problems than it will solve. But after Donovan hits Star for rejecting him, Danny decks Donovan in the face, knocking out some of his teeth.
  • Danny may have Chronic Hero Syndrome but there's still a limit to how much he can put up with as during a ghost bat attack at the country club, he would rather focus on protecting Star than saving her Rich Bitch grandmother when Beatrice is being attacked by the bat because of her horrible treatment of him throughout the story.
  • As much as Danny loves his parents, he won't contradict people saying "they tend to cause more property damage than most ghosts".

Star Strong

  • Despite how vocal she was about her opinion on him, Star wasn't so ungrateful to Danny that she didn't hold onto him when she fell out of the boat.
  • As jealous and disdainful as they are towards each other, Star doesn't hesitate to save Sam from being poisoned by a black widow. Also, Sam doesn't hesitate to return the favor later when she saves Star from a snake.
  • Even during her A-Lister days, Star was never fond of Dash and couldn't stand being around Donovan and his snobby friends.
  • As much as Star despises Donovan Loadman, even she agrees with him on Kwan being a moron.
  • As much as she hates her stepfamily with a burning passion, Star can understand and agree with Jean-Luc's reasons not to let Donovan Loadman marry Colette.
  • Star never liked Sam's parents when she was in the A-Listers and getting to know Sam better just made her like them even less.

Allies and Friends

Tucker Foley

  • Tucker was initially attracted to Colette Bevier, but when he heard that she pushed Sam into the tiger ghost to save her own life, he was disgusted and took back half the times he called her hot.
  • Tucker might be desperate for a girlfriend but he’s capable of accepting rejection and is understandably creeped out by Misty’s stalkerish behavior toward Danny despite him making it clear he only has eyes for Star.

Sam Manson

  • As jealous and disdainful as they are towards each other, Star doesn't hesitate to save Sam from being poisoned by a black widow. Also, Sam doesn't hesitate to return the favor later when she saves Star from a snake.
  • Sam notes that for all of her issues with her parents, she doesn't see them as villains and even admits the friction between them comes down to just how different Sam's own interests and ideals are from theirs. The real problem is that they try to force Sam to embrace what they want instead of accepting their daughter walking her own path.
  • She'd rather Danny be with Star than Colette, who tests her patience far more than Paulina.
  • While still disgruntled about Star dating Danny, Sam doesn't even consider trying to exclude Danny's memories of their relationship as he's recovering from amnesia, finding it to be too cruel.
  • Sam loves animals but thinks lowly of poodles as she finds these pampered pooches as snobby as their owners. That said, she makes an exception for Fifi after Star tells her otherwise.

Valerie Gray/The Red Huntress

  • Valerie might blame Danny Phantom and Cujo for ruining her life, but she was uncomfortable upon discovering that the ghostly dog used to be a guard dog before her dad's boss "retired" them.
  • In addition, she thought that the GIW's attempt to destroy the Ghost Zone was too extreme.
  • Valerie seemed to be the only A-Lister not taken in by Star's stepsister Colette Bevier, even for shallow reasons.
  • Even back when she was an A-Lister, Valerie disliked Beatrice Traville the one time she met her.

Jack Fenton

  • Both he and his wife despise the Bevier family for their unpleasantness.
  • Although Jack is still under the belief Vlad is his best friend and would love to make him part of the family, he does not want it through Vlad marrying Alicia, knowing how unpleasant a woman his sister-in-law is, and even sends a warning to Vlad she's looking for him.
  • Jack can be a messy eater but he's just as disgusted as Vlad is by Alicia's lack of table manners.
  • Despite sometimes being annoyed by Stella Bevier for her high-maintenance attitude, even he was shocked and disgusted when Joy cruelly revealed that she never liked her, nearly driving the woman to tears.

Maddie Fenton

  • She and her husband despise the Bevier family for their unpleasantness.
  • Despite sometimes being annoyed by Stella Bevier for her high-maintenance attitude, even Maddie was shocked and disgusted when Joy cruelly revealed that she never liked her, nearly driving the woman to tears.

Johnathan Strong

  • While his hatred for his ex-wife is justified, Johnathan does not get in the way of Star having a relationship with her mother.
  • Despite feeling awkward around Pierre (the son of his ex-wife), Johnathan does not blame him for their divorce and even seems concerned for him, allowing Star to babysit Pierre since he hopes she will be a better influence on him than the Bevier family.
  • He expressed disgust and anger when the Guys In White planned to capture Danielle (a child) and torture her with painful experiments.
  • Johnathan Strong has a very strained relationship with his ex-wife Stella Bevier for cheating on and leaving him, being a bad mother to Star and favoring her new husband and stepdaughter over their daughter, and generally being a stuck-up and unpleasant person. While he tries to tolerate Stella for his daughter's sake, he still very much dislikes her and can get into petty fights with her. Despite this, when Stella ran back back to the dinner room to protect Star during the tiger ghost's attack, he was genuinely concerned for her life.
  • Neither Johnathan nor Stella act remotely bitter or spiteful to the other when they find Star is sick.
  • While Johnathan has a complicated relationship with Stella and blames her when Star begins to act out because of the pressures of the beauty pageant, he is shocked to learn that his daughter yelled at her mother. He believes that what Star said was unacceptable and promises to have a talk with her.
    • He also calls out his own mother when she gives a very cruel "The Reason You Suck" Speech towards Stella that nearly drove her to tears. He states that for all of Stella's faults, she has been making an effort to become a better person and that his mother was being too harsh.

Solene Elizabeth Brown

  • As nice as Solene is, and as much as she tried to bond with Star, she reaches her limit when Star straight up yells at her about her relationship with Johnathan. Later, Solene was not happy to see Star again when the latter tried to apologize to her, but while reluctant, was still willing to listen to Star while making it clear that she only had five minutes during her lunch break. And even then, Solene did not want to accept Star's apology, but when Star explained her reasons for not trusting Solene because of how her mother previously left her to marry an awful man which also gave Star a terrible stepsister, Solene was sympathetic and understood why she acted the way she did. Also when Star admits she was jealous of Solene because she's so perfect, Solene assures Star that she is not and lists her flaws to make Star feel better.
  • Solene may be a kind and open-minded person who tries to see the best in people. However, after listening to Paulina reciting a poem about herself during the beauty pageant in "Dressed", she is very unimpressed and immediately sees Paulina as a Spoiled Brat with too much freedom from her parents.
  • Solene also dislikes Jean-Luc Bevier since their very first meeting due to him trying to flirt with her. She was clearly happy that Jean-Luc would not be joining the celebration of the school play.
  • Despite wanting to get in Joy's good graces and make a good first impression with her, Solene was taken aback when Joy kept degrading Stella and cruelly stated that she never even liked her when the latter had been married to Johnathan. Solene takes Stella out of the room to comfort her and calls Joy out for her harshness.

The Bevier Family

Stella Bevier

  • Stella seemed to favor her stepdaughter, Colette, over her biological daughter, Star, since she spoils and enables Colette's bad behavior and usually takes her side over Star's. However, it appears that Stella was genuinely in the dark on how Colette treated Star due her foolish trust in her stepdaughter. At the end of "Stuck", when Colette was caught trying to get Star in trouble, Stella does not hesitate in punishing her.
  • She's not that fond of the Mansons, seeing them as being so annoying and desperate to get into the Golden Guild.
  • Stella tries to show kindness to Paulina for being Star's former friend and Colette's new friend, but even she's exasperated by her obsession with Danny Phantom. In the story "Visited", Stella tells Star that Paulina was uninvited to her funeral, admitting that the more time she spends with the latter, the more she hates her. This implies that Stella realized how horrible Paulina is and why Star ended their friendship.
  • Stella has a very strained relationship with her ex-husband Johnathan Strong, mainly because after the spark in their relationship died, she cheated on Johnathan, then left him to marry the man she cheated on him with. Along with how Stella favored her new husband and stepdaughter over her biological daughter, and being selfish and thoughtless by not caring how her actions affected Star. While Stella has since realized how she hurt her daughter and is genuinely trying to be a better mother to her, she still dislikes Johnathan and can get into petty fights with him. However, when Johnathan's life was endangered as he was attacked by the ghost tiger, she was genuinely horrified.
  • Neither Johnathan nor Stella act remotely bitter or spiteful to the other when they find Star is sick.
  • When Stella learns that Johnathan has a girlfriend, she is shocked but despite feeling a little jealous, she believes that her ex-husband deserves to be happy and doesn't hold any resentment towards him, even agreeing to help Star make amends with Solene. Stella was also shocked that Star villainized Solene.
  • While she often tries to defend her stepdaughter and give her the benefit of the doubt, even Stella acknowledges that Colette is not responsible enough to be trusted to watch her baby half-brother Pierre, and prefers Star to do so instead.
  • Stella usually downplays and tries to justify her mother Beatrice's behavior. However, she was unhappy to learn that her mother planned to pair Star up with a boy without even discussing it with her (one that Star HATES to boot). Stella was especially upset to learn of Beatrice's plan to take Star back to New York to mold her into a Proper Lady. It's also heavily implied that deep down, Stella knows that her mother is a terrible parent but since Beatrice raised her daughter to always obey her, Stella has a hard time standing up to her.
  • Stella may be a materialistic and shallow woman (though, to be fair, she's been working on her flaws and becoming a more mature and open-minded person since her debut) who loves shopping and would often spoil her children rotten. She also tends to encourage them to get whatever they want and rarely disciplines them. However, Stella was outraged when she learned that her stepdaughter, Colette, went behind her back and spent over $12,000 on a Halloween costume. Even she admits that's too much money to use at once, especially without asking for permission, more so since it was a costume that Colette only bought to show off. As punishment, Stella made Colette use her shopping allowance to pay off the costume, since they could not return it due to Colette vomiting over it the previous night. "Golden" further reveals she and Jean-Luc temporarily cut Colette off.
  • She never liked Dash Baxter because of how rude and obnoxious he is, and she could also tell he was a bad influence on Star.

Jean-Luc Bevier

  • He spoils his daughter, but he does not argue against his wife grounding her for getting in trouble.
  • He is usually pretty lenient with Colette, but holds her to some standards when it comes to their public image and family business. When Colette makes a huge scene after losing the beauty pageant in Dressed, Jean-Luc is furious since her behavior could reflect badly on him, and he had to use all the money he earned from a recent deal to pay the medical bills and settlement of a security guard she hurt. Jean-Luc not only scolds his daughter, but grounds her of his own volition, including using Colette's funds to recoup the money he lost.
  • Jean-Luc may spoil his daughter immensely and usually does not care about her expenses, not thinking twice as she spends hundreds of dollars over her latest whims. However, according to Star, he was outraged to learn that Colette spent over $12,000 on a Halloween costume and that they could not return it. Thus, he fully supported his wife in punishing her by cutting her shopping budget. "Golden" further reveals he and Stella temporarily cut Colette off.
  • Jean-Luc, at first, was indifferent to his daughter Colette's crush on Danny, just telling her that he is a "peasant" and she is too good for him. Eventually, however, he became concerned and disgusted with how obsessive Colette has grown towards Danny and the fact that even when the latter keeps rejecting her, she will not take no for an answer. In "Golden", Jean-Luc even admitted to his wife that he doesn't know where Colette gets her obsessiveness from, and if he chased a girl who kept saying no that much, then he would've been jailed or institutionalized. And when Colette asks her father if he thinks she's acting crazy, Jean-Luc says yes and even discusses with Stella possibly sending Colette away to boarding school. It's very clear that Jean-Luc is out of patience with his daughter's fixation on Danny, and to a lesser extent, despite being a womanizer, is disgusted that she is refusing to accept Danny is not interested in her, showing that he can take being rejected by a woman.
  • He won't force Colette into marrying anyone and values her consent.
  • Jean-Luc may be a pompous, womanizing asshole but even he hates Donovan Loadman for the lousy way he treated Star, being repulsed that Donovan hit her over turning him down. Jean-Luc would rather prefer Colette marry Danny than Donovan (if not for the fact Danny made it clear he won't dump Star for her). He'd only let Donovan marry Colette if she agrees to it and Reginald confirms that their future children will inherit the Loadman fortune.

Casper High

Mr. Lancer

  • Mr. Lancer may have some favoritism towards the A-listers, but he will not give them parts in his play unless they prove that they earned it. He was amused by Paulina's cheer routine during her audition but refused to give her a part due to how ridiculous she was behaving. Mr. Lancer also explains to Danny and Star that the only reason he gave Dash a part in the play despite the latter's abysmal performance was not out of favoritism, but because he'd hoped it would make Dash take it seriously and actually learn something, and makes it clear that he's ultimately not happy with his decision.
    • He also apparently can't be bought. When Colette attempts to bribe him (with $500) for the lead role of Hermia, Mr. Lancer is outraged and refuses her outright. While this may be partially due to Star blackmailing him to no longer favor the A-listers under the threat of a lawsuit, his anger and outrage were genuine.
    • To a lesser extent, Mr. Lancer no longer has any patience for Paulina or Dash acting entitled. He refuses to budge when Paulina threatens to sue him for not getting a role in the play since he knows that she has NO legal grounds and is just being a Spoiled Brat.
  • He won't tolerate any fighting from the parents of Team Phantom.

Paulina Sanchez

  • Paulina won't date a fellow A-lister's ex-boyfriend until at least 3 months after their relationship's end and Star holds it as a reason to consider her better than Colette.
  • In "Traveled", Paulina starts to become concerned with how far Colette is going with her obsession for Danny. In "Golden", she refuses to help Colette sabotage Star's relationship with Danny anymore and even tells her she went too far by following them to New York.
  • In "Blackmailed", she refuses to get involved in any more of Colette's schemes because her obsession with Danny even after he rejected her is getting too weird for Paulina.
  • Team Phantom admit she’s not nasty enough to completely ruin someone’s life like Colette would.
  • After Paulina shares with her fellow A-Listers her suspicions that Colette might have done something illegal to force Danny to date her, she convinces them to kick Colette out of the A-List if that is the case because they don't want a criminal in the group at risk of going to jail.
  • As much as Paulina hates Colette, she won’t force her to date a meathead like Dash.

Dash Baxter

  • In "Dressed", he's so horrified by how crazy the girls in the pageant became that he cautions Danny to stay away from them in spite of not liking Danny.
  • Dash gives up on his pursuit of Starlight Spirit because he respects his hero Danny Phantom too much to try to steal his girlfriend from him. He’s fine with admiring Starlight from a distance and wanting to ask her if she knows about any other attractive ghost girls that are available in "Empowered".
  • In "Golden", Dash is creeped out by the extent of Colette's actions to be with Danny and refuses to ruin the latter's date with Star even when she promises to go out with him in exchange because he "won't date a girl that obsessed with another guy no matter how beautiful, rich, and popular she is." Colette has to resort to bribery to get his help.

Kwan Li

  • Kwan used to be attracted to Colette Bevier due to her beauty and innocent French girl act, to the point of temporarily dumping Star for her. However, after she joins the A-Listers, he gets tired of Colette's mean and controlling ways, as well as weirded out by her obsession with Danny, which is one of the reasons he practically begs Star to come back.
  • In "Golden", Kwan might want to get Star back, but he still refuses to help Colette sabotage her relationship with Danny since he doesn't want to force it as she's happy with Danny. Also, even Kwan finds Colette's continued fixation with Danny disturbing.

Michelle Lynne Clarke

  • Michelle Lynne Clarke, while being one of the most popular seniors at Casper High, does not share the arrogance and immaturity of the A-Listers, as she has shown to still be a very nice person in spite of her status. Michelle has no problem being kind to students that are not considered popular and is even willing to invite them to her parties if she feels like it. However and understandably, her kindness and patience have their limits, especially with Dash and Paulina.
    • She has a grudge against Dash due to having a bad date with him in the past, where he was his usual rotten self; however, Michelle was still willing to invite him to her party as long as he listened to her rules, warning Dash that she will not tolerate him causing problems or getting into fights with her guests. Sure enough when Dash tries to attack Danny, Michelle does not hesitate to kick him out.
    • She also has little patience for Paulina and her antics. When Paulina tries to complain to Michelle about her inviting Danny and Star to her party, Michelle firmly makes it clear that this is HER party and Paulina's beef with them has nothing to do with her, threatening to kick Paulina out if she causes trouble. Like with Dash, Michelle followed through on her threat when Paulina did so.

Others

Eleanor Wellington

  • She has no tolerance for the Mansons due to their desperation for getting into the Golden Guild of the country club, nor Jean-Luc and his daughter for how self-centered they are.

Jeremy and Pamela Manson

  • Sam's parents may not entirely approve of Danny, but they definitely don't approve of her blatant jealousy either, especially since they're still paying for damages she caused from that mindset back in "Lucky in Love".
  • After Star, Danny, and Jazz call out Jack and Maddie for their constant chaotic fighting during Christmas and run away, the couple tries to find them. Jack and Maddie call their kids' friends and receive a verbal tongue-lashing from their families on their attitude, including the Mansons. While they personally dislike the Fentons for their weirdness and obsession with ghosts, as well as disapproving of Danny's friendship with Sam, the Mansons are genuinely disgusted by Jack and Maddie's behavior and how it hurts their children.
    • Jeremy and Pamela also point out that even though they don't celebrate Christmas due to being Jewish and observing Hanukkah, they try to keep things civil every year; even their daughter, who is not a cheerful person in general, tries to be nicer and more upbeat for the holidays. Jeremy and Pamela admit that they actually feel sorry for Danny every year on Christmas and call Jack and Maddie out for showing such bad examples in front of him and Jazz, saying that they deserve their kids ignoring them.

Mr. Sanchez

  • Paulina's father, Mr. Sanchez, may not like Danny or his parents and is guilty of spoiling his daughter immensely, but he was outraged to learn that Paulina was trying to mess with Danny and Star's relationship out of spite. He made it clear that Danny's relationship was not her business and grounded her.
  • Mr. Sanchez also likes to spoil Paulina to the point where it was implied that he'd get violent with anyone that made her unhappy in the show. However, he was angered when his daughter went behind his back and spent $5000 on a Halloween costume. Like with Colette, it's hinted that Mr. Sanchez forced Paulina to pay off the costume out of her own allowance and shopping budget.

The Observants

  • The Observants were willing to overlook all times Walker abused his authority for as long as he never did anything that they considered extreme. By kidnapping a baby and threatening to imprison him, Walker finally did something they deem unacceptable.

Alicia

  • Alicia dislikes men due to her failed marriage and strained relationship with her brother-in-law (since she does not think he is good enough for her sister). However, she does not extend her dislike to her nephew Danny.
    • Danny has noted that Alicia never mistreated him or his sister Jazz, and when Alicia made a comment about men, she realized Danny was in the room and embarrassedly clarified that her hatred does not extend to blood-related men.
  • When Alicia met Johnathan and Stella, the two argued about how Stella's mother mistreated Johnathan and wants to pair Star with someone she dislikes. Alicia took Johnathan's side and genuinely sympathized with him because she also had an overbearing mother-in-law who mistreated her and who her ex-husband refused to stand up to. This shows that although Alicia dislikes men, she knows there are situations where they are in the right and can be hurt by women.
  • It's implied that Alicia wishes for her nephew Danny to be together with Star because his girlfriend is rich. However, she will not force them to be together and believes that Star should have a choice in who she should date. Alicia made it a point to ask Star if she wanted to date Danny or be with Donovan, the boy her grandmother tried to set her up with. When Star answered that she loved Danny and hated Donovan, Alicia said they should respect her choice.
  • Alicia may be something of a Gold Digger with horrible taste in men but even she hates Jean-Luc Bevier despite never meeting him after Maddie told her how much of a womanizing slimeball he is.

Richard Traville

  • It's implied that Richard disapproves of the way his wife treats non-upper-class people (such as Danny and even Johnathan) but chose not to defend them because of how overbearing Beatrice is. However, when Donovan Loadman (a boy Beatrice wanted to set up with their granddaughter Star) tries to forcefully kiss Star and then hurts her for rejecting him, Richard deems it unforgivable. He also finally calls out his wife when she takes Donovan's side over their granddaughter's and blames Danny. Richard furiously refuses to let Beatrice silence him and tells everyone what REALLY happened.

Puck

  • He has zero issue with giving people a real fright or delivering some Humble Pie but he goes out his way to avoid actually hurting anyone, even though the rules he's bound by don't outright forbid it; only him killing is off limits.
  • He won't ruin a birthday celebration for someone who's "already pretty old by human standards".

Joy Strong

  • Joy Strong May is shown to be nice and polite to everyone (including Danny and Solene), and does her best to be welcoming and hospitable. However, there are limits to her kindness and she has no patience when dealing with unpleasant people.
    • Joy reveals that she always disliked her granddaughter's former friends, The A-listers, and was happy to learn that Star no longer associates with them. She seemed to despise Paulina in particular, finding her to be very rude since she had previously treated Joy as a maid during one of her last visits to Amity Park.
    • Joy also has nothing but disdain for her former daughter-in-law, Stella, due to Stella leaving Johnathan for Jean-Luc and finding her unpleasant and even accusing her of being a Gold Digger. However, Joy does not extend her dislike towards Pierre, Stella's son with her new husband. She admits that she finds Pierre cute and only expresses her hope he won't grow up to be like his parents, thereby insulting Stella without insulting the baby.
      • When Star tried to criticize how Joy treated Stella, telling Joy that she may be upset but is acting way over the line, Joy claimed that she was justified and compared Stella to her mother, Beatrice. Thankfully, Johnathan protested that was not true, and Joy actually agreed with her son's point, admitting that comparison wasn't fair.

Mei

  • Mei is a strict Education Mama, but was willing to let her daughter Misty take some time off school and studying after she got injured.

Titania

  • As much as Titania hates Vlad, she's concerned that he doesn't know the side effects of the love potion.

In General

  • Even the A-Listers are annoyed by Paulina’s constant whining about Starlight Spirit's return to Amity Park in "Empowered".
  • According to Dash, Colette's fixation on Danny is causing her to lose her popularity, indicating the rest of the A-Listers and Casper High are also freaked out by how far she will go to get him.
  • The A-Listers find Colette even bossier than Coach Tetslaff. Also, by "Blackmailed", they are so creeped out about Colette's obsession with Danny that they refuse to have anything to do with her plans anymore or even be near her. Later, when Danny unexpectedly breaks up with Star and gets together with Colette, the A-Listers, especially Paulina, quickly suspect something is amiss. No matter how much they dislike Danny and Star, they are worried that Colette may have done something illegal to force them to break up and get Danny to date her. While there's nothing they can do because there isn't any concrete proof against Colette, it's made clear that if the A-Listers had any knowledge of her criminal deeds, they wouldn't hesitate to turn her in because they are genuinely afraid of Colette and want her out of their clique and school for everyone's safety.
