FNF: Garden Ensemble is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod conceptualized by GalaxyLight777, where Boyfriend and Girlfriend find themselves teleported into the Flower Knight Girl world.

The mod starts with BF encountering Nightshade at the front door of a mansion in a snowfield, and promptly engages in a rap battle with her, like what's tradition in most mods. Tropes pertaining to the mod:

  • Call-Back: Novalis is once again left wandering outside the castle of Winter Rose, with Royal Princess is trying to find her in the main city by asking around. BF in response bargains that he'll direct her to wherever he thinks Novalis really is after she rap battles them, leading into the first song of Stage 2.
  • Excuse Plot: Played With. The overall story with BF in Spring Garden isn't any deeper than "BF's singing against the cast of this setting" like most crossover mods tend to be, with little to no explanation as to why he's here other than the implication that Daddy Dearest is responsible. The rest of the characters, however, have their own specific subplots and story arcs that drive much of the plot that BF accompanies.
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Nightshade fancy's herself as this, proclaiming in her ego-driven speech post "Encounter" that she's the liberator of the ill-gotten riches like her grandfather. This mentality of hers was once shared to the impressionable Kitsune no Botan, who took this Phantom Thief lesson to heart in a way that bit Nightshade in the ass.
  • Missed Him by That Much: When Royal Princess gets sent off to find Novalis after getting her requested help, she manages to leave at the point when Novalis herself approaches the site the former was at with BF, being drawn to the resulting song and asking to join in.
  • Musicalis Interruptus: "Nightshade" ends with Cattleya slamming the front door open in response to the ruckus outside, the music halting and Nightshade sporting a panic-y look mid-pose in return.
  • Must Make Amends: Nightshade wishes to apologize to Cattleya for a past incident prior to the start of the mod. She once taught Kitsune no Botan the goal of a Phantom Thief is by taking from the greedy rich, who in turn decided to follow through with that goal by attempting to steal from the mansion heard in rumors around the city — Nightshade, upon learning of what the fox girl's doing and who she's stealing from, makes haste with Larkspur to stop them, only for one thing leading to another and Cattleya catching them all in the act, assuming they're all robbing the place. Even after getting teleported all the way to the city of Winter Rose by Cattleya's magic, Nightshade personally treks back to the mansion's front door to properly express remorse for the series of events.
  • Mythology Gag: The name of the song "Mischief and Magic" alludes to the Language of Flowers of the respective featured Flower Knights, Nightshade and Cattleya.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While Cattleya knows of Nightshade to a limited degree, she's quick to catch on to the phantom thief's shtick through word-of-mouth prior. So seeing Nightshade not even bother with the figurative mask as she apologizes for her actions makes Cattleya consider her being truly honest.
  • Promoted to Playable: Nightshade gets the playable role for the bonus song "Mischief and Magic", singing against/with Cattleya in an attempt at bonding with them.
  • Unlockable Content: Upon clearing individual songs, you earn Flower Memories to view in the Flower Memory Gallery. Each Flower Memory also features a description that details the thoughts and feeling behind the featured subjects, all in a similar manner to the Flower Memories of the origin game.
  • What Could Have Been: Nightshade had a different reason for wanting to apologize to Cattleya, rather than inadvertently convincing Kitsune no Botan to steal from the riches of Cattleya's mansion, Nightshade was the one to raid the mansion alongside her lackeys, only stopping upon finding their diary, learning her backstory, and subsequently sympathizing with Cattleya over familiar background of missing parents. This depiction was dropped due to the author feeling, in hindsight, that it was forcing too much extra characterization and Ship Tease that didn't fit the characters.
