Derek Royle, (7 September 1928 — 23 January 1990), was a British actor best known for playing the second Monsieur LeClerc (brother of the first LeClerc) in 'Allo 'Allo!.

He acted from The '60s right until his death at the start of The '90s and specialised in absent-minded characters. His film appearances were mostly in comedy films including Tiffany Jones, Don't Just Lie There, Say Something!, and Confessions of a Sex Maniac.

On TV, he starred in Hogg's Back in The '70s as the eccentric Dr. Hogg alongside Jacki Piper, Wendy Richard, and Pat Coombs for two series.

After Jack Haig left 'Allo 'Allo! due to ill health, his character (Roger LeClerc) was written out and Royle was cast as his brother, Ernest. Royle was unable to return after Series 6.

He died of cancer at the age of 61, and Ernest was recast with Robin Parkinson.
