Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a 2022 limited series from Marvel Comics, starring the titular Spider-Man. It's written by Taboo and B.Earl, with art by Juan Ferreyra.

Peter Parker's in California, helping with research into new medical treatments that could identify sick cells. But Peter's also sliding into dreams and nightmares, with visions of labyrinths, and there seems to be a bear on the loose. It looks as if Pasadena needs Spider-Man, not just Peter.

The first issue was released October 19, 2022.

Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man contains the following tropes:

  • Bears Are Bad News: The angry black bear Spider-Man fights in the Santa Monica mountains is much tougher than he expected. And also foreshadows the arrival of the Demon Bear at the end of the issue.
  • The Bus Came Back: Promotional material claims that the demonic bear seen at the end of the first issue isn't just a demon bear, it's the Demon Bear, as seen in Chris Claremont's 1980s New Mutants storyline.
  • Eldritch Location: The Maze in the later parts of the run.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: In issue #4, Spider-Man and Crystal face off against demon bear versions of various heroes.
Spider-Man (narration): "Something inside me snaps. And I feel myself becoming a nightmare too. I don't hold back against these abominations. I hate this, but I can't stop...But I finally feel free... It's not every day you get to see if you can beat the snot out of the Avengers...
  • Fusion Dance: The two security guards at the Rose Bowl merge into one demonic figure.
