    In General
  • Cosmic Motifs: With the exception of Nuage, who is the embodiment of weather, Lune, Soleil and Eto embody the respective cosmic motif of moon, sun and the stars.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
    • Sanguine: Nuage is extroverted, highly talkative and cheerful. She is prone to being a tease to others, notably towards Lune and Soleil.
    • Melancholic: Soleil is a Nervous Wreck and is Prone to Tears, often hiding in flowerbeds and causing rain below.
    • Choleric: Eto is very task-oriented at managing the stars, but has a mean streak and is sometimes very domineering towards others.
    • Phlegmatic: Lune is calm and unsmiling who acts as the balance between the other three. It plays to her character as the rarity of full moons occur frequently due to her unsmiling nature.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: All four of the main characters in the story equally have two males and two females.

Girl of the Moon.

Lune is in charge of the moon, being the one who makes it sure that anyone can see the moon in its beautiful, pristine state at night. Though due to being an unsmiling girl, full moons are a rarity for anyone to see.

  • Magic Staff: Lune is equipped with a magic staff that has a moon on its head, where she uses it to control the moon.
  • Meaningful Name: Lune, the French word for Moon.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Lune rarely smiles over the course of this manga, usually defaulting to her unsmiling expression. This often results in full moons being rare to be seen.

Soleil

Boy of the Sun.

Soleil is in charge of the sun to brighten up the outside world at mornings. However, he's very prone to being depressed and is Prone to Tears, often spending most of his time hiding in flowerbeds. As a result, the sky is often pitch-black without his guidance, leading to frequent rainy periods.

  • Irony: Despite being the embodiment of the sun (often leaning to having energetic, bright personalities), Soleil is prone to being a Nervous Wreck who hides at flowerbeds, often causing rainy periods and skies to be pitch-black.
  • Meaningful Name: Soleil, the French word for Sun.
  • Nervous Wreck: His trademark personality. Soleil is very nervous for most of the time, being prone to crying, which often results in the sky below to be darken. His crying also causes rains.
  • Prone to Tears: More often than not, it's seldom to see one page of him not crying, in line due to being easily nervous for most of the time.

    Eto

Eto

The Star Boy.

Eto is in charge of the stars at night, ensuring that they appear at the night sky. Energetic to a fault with a starstruck, task-oriented personality to match, he's often known for his domineering and mean streak.

  • Absurdly Dedicated Worker: Being responsible for bringing many stars in the night sky, Eto falls to this trope, ensuring that they are brought together.
  • Meaningful Name: A shortened name of Étoile, the French word for stars.

    Nuage

Nuage

The Cloud Girl.

Nuage is in charge of the weather, being the one responsible for controlling it. While she's energetic and talkative, she's extremely lazy and spends most of her time sleeping. Instead she leaves her principal duties to her fairies unless a storm happens. She's very prone to teasing Soleil and Lune.

  • Empathic Environment: The weather that is caused below is determined based on Nuage's emotions. Should Nuage cry, then it will cause heavy rains, and in some edge cases lightning strikes.
  • The Gadfly: Her excitable personality often annoys the calm Lune and the nervous Soleil.
  • Lazy Bum: Despite being in charge of the weather, Nuage is lazy and sleeps for most of the time, usually leaving her utmost duty to her fairies.
  • Meaningful Name: Nuage, the Japanese word for cloud, which fits her occupation as being responsible for controlling the weather below.
  • Odd Name Out: Unlike Lune, Soleil and Eto who are named after cosmic concepts, Nuage is named after the weather, as in her translated English name "Cloud".
