The Tree Sisters
Tallulah
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Prone to Irish dancing and tangents about owls.
- Dude Magnet: Charlie, Cain, even Ben at one point, but for a good portion of the series, she only wants Alex.
- Hormone-Addled Teenager: Thinks about boys regularly, just like the rest of her friends.
- Love Makes You Dumb: Has a tendency to say ridiculous things in front of boys, particularly Alex.
- Unreliable Narrator: Not so much unreliable as just plain daft, but the series is Tallulah's diary, so shades of this apply.
Vaisey
- The Ace: Has much more theatre experience than Tallulah, she seems to be able to do everything.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Gallops to school, pretending to be Black Beauty. Need I say more?
- Deuteragonist: Gets the most focus, after Tallulah.
- Single-Target Sexuality: In contrast to Tallulah, Vaisey remains exclusively focused on Jack.
Jo
- Hypocritical Humour: Has her moments. She claims Phil is too small for her, at one point.
- Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Very small, very aggressive, freakishly strong.
- Single-Target Sexuality: Absolutely obsessed with Phil.
Flossie
- Southern Belle: Well, she pretends to be. She's from Blackpool.
Honey
- Put on a Bus: Before the last book, she goes off to Hollywood.
- Speech-Impeded Love Interest: Has a lisp and a rhotacism, and is a notorious boy magnet.
