The main protagonist of the canon-verse, maintaining her role in this alternate reality. However, she not only has kept her friends and her school, but has also won a gruff but caring mentor and rival-figure. She will need all of that in her fight against the evils of Remnant. She is the main protagonist of Wild Hunt.

Hansel Kobalt

The apprentice of Professor Ozpin, adopted son of Glynda Goodwitch, and apparently one of the last members of the disgraced Kobalt Family, once famous for their strong Huntsmen and brilliant scientists. After spending a year out in the field, investigating a shadowy terrorist cell, Hansel was called back to Beacon to serve as Beacon's new combat instructor. He is the deuteragonist of Wild Hunt.

Tropes:

The Ace: Though he is not the main character, Hansel has the distinction of being the strongest among the main cast. This is mainly because his first responsibility is to raise the Chosen One to eventually replace him as The Ace.
Afraid of Doctors: Downplayed version. Hansel openly states that he is uncomfortable around hospitals.
Berserk Button: Quite a few. Useless idealism (as shown in his fight with Ruby before he managed to cool off a bit), Gray Jackal, idiotic excuses for doing terrible things, and being compared to his disgraced family.
Big Eater: Justified. Hansel needs to consume a lot because his Semblance uses a lot of calories.
Broken Ace: In spite of all his talent, Hansel is slowly showing implications of falling into this category.
Brutal Honesty: Hansel will tell you the truth, no matter how bad it hurts.
Deadpan Snarker: Pair this with Yang the Pungeon Master, and you get quite the routine.
Determinator: This guy just doesn't stay down.
Everyone Has Standards: Can seem like an asshole to most people, but does seem to have a very strict moral compass. He's particularly disgusted by the Huntsmen Hunter, due to his "crusade" leaving civilians defenseless.
Freudian Excuse: Is heavily implied to have one that explains why he's so cold to others. Glynda seems to be aware of it, as she is so concerned for his mental state, she doesn't even want him to confront his past.
Good Is Not Nice: Hansel does not go out of his way to be nice when he's on duty. However, he is still firmly on the side of good.
I Work Alone: Insisted on hunting down an entire terrorist organization on his own, and will absolutely not allow help from his students. Justified in the latter, as he knows they are not ready to fight the enemies he fights.
