Phonegingi/Typegingi
Both object head variants the player can choose from, phone and typewriter respectively.
The player-controlled main character, an incredibly strange creature whose initial goal is to find a way into the funfair in order to lay their eggs there.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: And how. Between talking to the Narrator in their head, drinking cough syrup for fun, and eating gravel, Gingi is one of Dialtown's strangest residents.
- Comically Missing the Point: Quite possibly more often than they actually get the point.
- Extreme Omnivore: Eats gravel, paper, and roadkill, among other things.
- Interspecies Romance: Given that Gingi's species is "cryptid", any romance except for the Bigfoot Route counts as this.
- Never Learned to Read: Gingi's illiteracy comes up several times throughout the game.
- Talking to Themself: Depending on how you interpret the Narrator.
- Triple Nipple: Times two actually.
- Vague Age: Their memory is so poor that they have no recollection of exactly how old they are.
- Whale Egg: Gingi lays a clutch of eggs, despite presumably being mammalian.
Randy Jade
A weak-willed, cowardly man with a Nokia phonehead, and one of the game's dateables. Randy works as both a sex hotline operator and swan-wrangler.
- Butt-Monkey: He works two jobs, one demeaning and the other dangerous, and lives in (and has to pay rent for) the dumpster behind his old workplace.
- Grew a Spine: Basically how his good ending goes; he's still terrified of everything, but he's a bit more willing to stand up for himself and take charge of his own life.
- Punny Name: He's a sex worker named Randy. His last name refers to his jaded nature.
Oliver Swift
"It's hip to fuck monsters."
A friendly, totally groovy guy with a wallphone head who works in Dialtown's cinema. He's an aspiring cinematographer, a bit of a monsterfucker, and one of the game's dateables.
Billy
"Sup, bozos. Billy's here, now."
An evil demonspawn of a child, and Oliver's nemesis.
- Enfant Terrible: He may still be in school (in spite of his many, many misdemeanors), but that doesn't change that his mission in life is to pester, frighten, and generally ruin the lives of every person in Dialtown for a laugh.
Karen Dunn
The tired bank teller with a printer head and a secret artistic side, and another one of the game's dateables.
- All Girls Like Ponies: Karen adores horses.
- Punny Name: She's quite done with everyone's nonsense.
- Sarcasm-Blind: She's not fond of sarcasm, nor of people who use it frequently.
Jerry
The ticketmaster of the funfair who would really rather not have to deal with Gingi's shenanigans.
