Awesome Music / Overlord (2012)

Go To

The anime adaptation of Overlord (2012) did not disappoint in terms of theme music.

  • "Clattanoia", the first opening theme care of OxT, chronicles the feelings of the gamer known as Momonga, as to his first actual few moments in Yggdrasil, where he decides to start embracing the notion of becoming Ainz Ooal Gown. The first chorus of the song, as used in the opening sequence, paints it clearly:
    (As translated in English)
Where does the answer lead? Seek it out!
Where's my soul? Where's my heart?
I'm getting pulled into this reality!
    Don't hesitate, go this way
    I don't understand, but I don't care
Even if I have to put on a show!
I'll just keep surviving in this world!
Ahh, the sorrow from what we lost comes throbbing forth again...
    A Misery-World!
  • "L.L.L." by MYTH & ROID, the ending theme for the first season, is Albedo's Image Song, judging by the entirety of its lyrics and illustrated by this verse, as translated:
    Blessing word! You are supreme!
To your commands, I say, "Your highness", as I faithfully follow.
You give orders, but I won’t let anyone else have them
You’re more precious than anything to me!
  • As for scores, "I Am Ainz Ooal Gown" plays when Ainz stops playing around and shows his enemies just who the hell they're messing with.
  • The end of the fourth season gives us a glorious Villain Song in "Fallen". Specifically, Renner breaks out in a song having achieved her goals in annihilating her own kingdom and of having Climb all to herself under Ainz's allegiance. The musical number receives perhaps the biggest Animation Bump of the entire series to date, and it perfectly highlights how total Renner's victory was.
