  • Chapter 1:
    • Even with zero experience in fighting Grimm, 1-A and Aizawa not only quickly manage to form a solid defense when a large pack of Grimms attack them, but manage to determine a lot of things based on just a few minutes of mid-fight observation.
    • When a Beowolf manages to reach Jiro, Kaminari pushes through his fear and quickly electrocutes it, allowing Ojiro to toss it into a rock and then Jiro explodes its head with Heartbeat Distortion.
    • Four Beowolves manage to flank the group, attacking from the back. Shoji quickly punches one of them into the others, stunning them. When one of them recovers faster, Midoriya hits it with Air Force, allowing Shoji to keep hitting the creatures.
    • All Might regains his strong form for long enough to hold off another Beowolf, even using a judo throw on it. When the Beowolf bites into his arm, Asui and Uraraka hit the Beowolf to toss it into the air, and Hagakure blinds the other Beowolves, allowing Uraraka to drop the floating one into them.
    • When the Boarbatusks and Beringel show up, Todoroki and Mineta (who's already bleeding) lay down a 'mine-field' that temporarily holds off the Grimm.
    • The Alpha Grimm then shows up, and Todoroki manages to freeze it and several Ursas, allowing Bakugo to release a massive explosion on the Megatherium's face... and the Megatherium No Sells the attack before hitting Bakugo hard enough to break his ribs and leg.
    • Just then, one of the Nevermores gets its head blown up - and Ruby Rose lands next to 1-A, ready to help them fight off the Grimm.
  • Chapter 2:
    • Team RWBY arrives via Nevermore, killing their transport and then landing by killing even more Grimm, giving 1-A desperately needed breathing room as they unleash their full power.
    • Yaoyorozu notices that Todoroki is getting exhausted, so she orders him back as she fights a Beowolf with a staff and shield, but the Beowolf manages to break both - before it gets its throat sliced open by Jaune Arc throwing his sword, which he then picks up to decapitate the monster. Cue Team JNPR arriving, ready to throw themselves into combat.
    • Professor Goodwitch is next, and uses her Telekinesis semblance to grab 1-A's bus and slam it into the Alpha's face. When that's not enough, Nora (who has been breaking Grimm left and right) switches Magnhild to grenade launcher mode and blows the bus to kingdom come.
    • Kirishima and Yang tag-team to pummel several Ursa.
    • Midoriya comes up with a plan to kill the Alpha. Aoyama and Yaoyorozu crack open its bone armor, Nora gets Kaminari to shock her and then breaks the Alpha's leg, Hagakure blinds it, Mineta and Todoroki stick it to the ground while the strongest hold its legs, and then the finisher: Midoriya and Bakugo, and Ruby and Yang, spin around to gain enough speed, and Midoriya and Yang unleash a 25% Manchester Smash and I Burn to explode the Alpha's head.
  • Chapter 5:
    • Cardin decides to challenge Mineta in one of the exhibition duels because he thinks it'll be an easy win. Despite his fears, 1-A's self-admitted weakest link thrashes Cardin and makes it look easy.
    • Pyrrha and Yaoyorozu face off in the second exhibition duel. The two girls engage in an intense duel where Momo almost manages to win, but in the end Pyrrha takes the win. Given that Momo's experience in fighting is just about a few months, while Pyrrha is well known as a fighting champion, it says a lot about how good Momo has become in a short time.
    • Bakugo and Yang take the last duel, which becomes just as intense as the previous one, as they trade blows and explosions, until the duel is finished because they're both in red levels of Aura. Regardless of previous sentiments, Bakugo is forced to admit Yang is a Worthy Opponent, to the point that he actually calls her by her name later, which, as Izuku previously pointed out, is extremely rare.
  • Chapter 8:
    • Ruby and Weiss team up to craft Apollo, a functional Jet Pack Ochako can use in combination with her Quirk to fly. While it's limited to short bursts, it's still an impressive advance.
  • Chapter 9:
    • When Blake sees Torchwick ordering the White Fang members around, she manages to slip behind him and takes him hostage. She becomes shocked when Adam shows up, and Torchwick takes advantage of her distraction to trigger his weapon and escape, allowing Adam to grab Blake and threaten to cut her ears - but then Blake fires a Grin of Audacity and gives the sign: "Plus Ultra." Ruby shoots Adam, nearly disarming him with a shot, and Hunters and Heroes jump in to stop the thieves.
  • Chapter 10:
    • Team MOAT deploys from up high thanks to Tokoyami's Dark Angel, and Ochako and Tsuyu deploy to neutralize most of the airships while Tokoyami deals with the one that is floating and Izuku drops in to support the others. When Ruby shoots Adam, Izuku pulls out Dagobah and plants himself between Adam and Blake, ready to show the bull Taurus what being a hero really means.
    • Tokoyami quickly intimidates the airship pilots into landing, while Ochako and Tsuyu carry out a Curb-Stomp Battle where they knock out the people guarding the other airships - until Neo makes her debut. Ochako uses her training laser to distract Neo while Tsuyu hits the latter with her tongue. Neo brings in more White Fang members, but the girls start to bring them down with some timely support from Ruby.
    • Aizawa fights Torchwick, both of them fighting evenly with skill - until Koda turns the tables by convincing the local bats to distract the White Fang members. Aizawa manages to wrap Torchwick with his scarf and cuff him.
    • Yang bulldozes through five White Fang members before a trio of fighters stall her. Her taunting distracts one of them from Kaminari, who shocks him, while Jiro drops the other two. The one Kaminari shocked turns out to have a Semblance that feeds on pain, forcing him to step back - before he uses Volt Lash to save Jiro and shock out another White Fang member, only to get sent flying into a container by the previous one. Weiss arrives to freeze the guy's foot to the ground, and Jiro combines her Quirk with Air Dust to essentially create sound bullets, giving the opening for Weiss and Yang to pull off Freezer-burn, and Yang knocks out the White Fang member.
    • Izuku hits Adam several times with Delaware Smash, and when Adam counters with Moonslice, Blake manages to use Shadow to make a double of herself and Izuku, saving him from getting hit, although not enough to prevent the destruction of Dagobah's left stick. When Adam becomes shocked that Izuku survived the attack, Blake and Yang call him out for being an asshole. Adam moves to kill them... but Izuku suddenly manifests Blackwhip for the first time and slams Adam into a container hard enough to dent it.
  • Chapter 11:
    • On top of getting Blackwhip, Izuku manages to unlock his Semblance, which allows him to manifest Daigoro Banjo as an independent entity capable of fighting.
    • Rose and Penny nearly manage to capture Torchwick after he escapes. If it weren't for Neo's intervention, they would have been successful.
    • When Adam takes advantage of a distraction to attempt to kill Weiss, Blake jumps in and takes the sword to protect her teammate.
    • Ochako unlocks her own Semblance when she attempts to help Blake, being so concentrated on the idea of saving her that it gives her Healing Hands.
    • By the end of the raid, the result is that, while Adam, Neo, and Torchwick manage to escape with one Bullhead, all the other White Fang members and all the other Bullheads are captured - very far from what happened in canon.
  • Chapter 12:
    • Kirishima shows just how durable he is now that he can use Aura and his Quirk together.
  • Chapter 13:
    • Bakugo immediately pegs Mercury as faking his attitude. When he later notices them watching the assessment test, he warns some of the others to keep an eye on them.
    • Aizawa challenges Team CRDL to a fight in order to Break the Haughty. CRDL falls for the Schmuck Bait. Aizawa issues a Curb-Stomp Battle.
    • Ruby is fast enough with Petal Burst that she out-speeds Iida in the 50-meter dash.
    • While it goes unremarked, Aizawa notes that Jaune's body glows white for a moment during the dash. He's instinctively using Aura Amp already!
    • Aizawa also deduces what Pyrrha's Semblance is based on seeing a black aura around the softball's tracking band and a glitch in the system. And points out to her that she can't hold back anymore. Pyrrha's second throw lands more than twice farther than the first.
  • Chapter 14:
    • Mineta noticing Mercury's reaction to his and Emerald's conversation and realizes that she's pumping him for information all on his own.
    • Ojiro shows off what he can do with his new weapon: a sword he can wield with his tail, which allows him to put Sun against the ropes.
    • Sato becomes the third 1-A student to discover his Semblance - he can infuse cakes he makes with Aura, which when eaten recharges the consumer's Aura.
  • Chapter 15:
    • Shoto unlocks his Semblance next after a fierce sparring bout with Weiss; when Iida and Midoriya attempt to break it up when it gets too intense, Shoto instinctively shields himself with ice shaped in the form of his mother.
  • Chapter 16:
    • While also heartwarming, the talk between Pyrrha and Yaoyorozu over both having crushes on Jaune is impressively mature and patient on both sides. No Clingy Jealous Girl nonsense, no resentment, just two Nice Girls talking it out to where Momo gracefully steps back and their friendship remains intact.
    • Momo then discovers her own Semblance by absorbing a Dust crystal into her own body, then releasing it again when the other girls show up.
  • Chapter 17:
    • Koda powers through his recent trauma and unlocks his Semblance to protect an injured bear and her cubs from Grimm. He does this by summoning a super-sized version of Zwei to maul the Grimm.
  • Chapter 18:
    • Ojiro gets to show off his props in this chapter, leading the work on finding the dog and then fighting off Junior's gang to give Matches and Sun time to escape and calling for reinforcements.
    • Sun manages to force his Semblance to evolve by going Plus Ultra and creating clones even though he's tied up and unable to do the necessary preparation.
  • Chapter 19: The first match between Beacon's and U.A.'s teams, Team BEAS vs Team RSTR:
    • Bakugo faces Richie Fields, whose Semblance lets him Nerf any attack. Bakugo answers by going all out with his Quirk, since he knows the power will be reduced enough that his opponent will be able to handle it.
      • He later takes down Reed Victor Bluebeard who tries to take out Sero in a last-ditch effort.
    • Kirishima faces Sandy Quill, who can spin things around at will. Kirishima blocks her spinning using only his Quirk and piledrives her, which allows Sero to trap her with his tape. He unveils a new move with his kanabo in the process, Remnant Rumble, that shakes the arena floor into a concrete whirlpool.
      • Not to mention he weathers Sandy's attacks with his Quirk alone, no Aura. Sandy's impressed upon hearing this afterwards.
    • Ashido takes on Tempest Grove, who can fly around using a jetpack. In order to reach him, Ashido comes up with a new move, Acid Geyser - Airborne, which consists of firing jets of acid from her hands with so much strength that she can propel herself into the air. This allows Ashido to hit Tempest's jetpack and bring him down.
    • Sero hangs back and takes on the role of sniper for his team, keeping Tempest off balance before using his tape to wrap up their defeated opponents. Not as flashy as the rest, but it gets the job done.
  • Chapter 20: This chapter has the second match between RWBY and STRM, and it doesn't dissapoint:
    • Ruby unlocks a new level of her Semblance to deal with Iida's speed.
