* EvilIsSexy:
** Himeko, after being possessed by Honkai energy and turning on her allies, gains her Blood Rose battle suit, which is noticeably skimpier than her other battle suits.
** [[spoiler:Kiana's Herrscher of the Void battlesuit]] is also rather sensual compared to her other suits as it shows her bare shoulders and is noticeably tighter around the legs, not to mention her short skirt which lead to very frequent panty shots. This goes even further with the swimsuit she acquires during the "Odd Drifter" event, a two-piece outfit with a translucent top and a barely-there bottom.
** Most of Rita's outfits are slinky and body-hugging with lots of gauzy panels and open cutouts. Her Maid of Celestia outfit, for example, is a cheongsam-style dress with a CleavageWindow, NavelWindow, and short skirt. Playing with her as Fallen Rosemary cranks this up even further, as the outfit is a long elegant dress and she gets a full head of long hair while still keeping her EyesOutOfSight, and she gets the game's first BathtubScene in the "Rosemary's Floriograph" event, where Fallen Rosemary (as Irene Adler) is an important side character. It's downplayed, though, with the swimsuit you can get for her in the "Odd Drifter" event, as it's a frilly one-piece that's more modest than many other Valkyries' swimsuits. As the story's progressed, however, Rita is more seen as a morally grey character; she genuinely aims for protecting the people from Honkai threats, while at the same time she follows Otto's every order, including the questionably ethical ones.
** Raven's default outfit is a form-fitting bodysuit that emphasizes her breasts, legs and rear, and also gives her CombatStilettos.

Worse yet, it has a TurnsRed mode where it can't be interrupted or stunned, meaning it'll also just shoot a barrage of bullets whenever it feels like.

Upon realizing that the world won't truly let him resurrect Kallen, Otto plans to use the [[WorldTree Imaginary Tree]] to seemingly reset the timeline back to how it was before Kallen's death. When Kiana and Durandal confront and defeat him, Otto reveals that the battle allowed him to harness the power of their emotions so he can freely influence the Imaginary Tree and enact his true plan: to create a separate timeline in which Kallen will live. Otto then sacrifices his entire existence for it, content that this new timeline is untouched by his mistake.

** As ''Honkai Impact 3rd'' became older and received continuous updates or spin-offs, the lore became inevitably thicker and convoluted. Fortunately, [=miHoYo=] is aware of the possibility for ''Honkai'' newcomers to become confused if they haven't been up-to-date with everything; the official [=YouTube=] channel of the game uploads a series of "Honkai Chronicles" videos which aim to sufficiently summarize or condense the lore to make it easily understandable, though these tend to be a mix of PreviouslyOn storytelling and character-specific lore, such as the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSOYUfnUGZk "Herrscher of Reason"]] video which summarizes how the title got passed along from Welt Joyce, to Welt Yang, then to Bronya Zaychik.

The problem is that [[TemporaryOnlineContent events go away after they end]] and can't be revisited unless they're specifically brought back, such as was done for "The Day You Vanished with the Stars" and "Rosemary's Floriograph", which means new players will often end up extremely confused at some developments that call back to old events.
** Though they are not directly related, the initial chapters of Honkai Impact 3rd assume that players are familiar with ''Guns [=GirlZ=]'' setting and characters, leaving many new players wondering what's going on and what the characters are even talking about. This is somewhat rectified through the use of events and suplementary comics exploring important events and characters, with later story chapters also trying to explain things more clearly for those who were unable to play ''Guns [=GirlZ=]'' while the servers were up.

Dewicking Tier Induced Scrappy, which is now a disambig.

* HighTierScrappy:
** A lot of players disliked [[GameBreaker Herrscher of Thunder]] for her ability to steamroll most bosses and levels effortlessly (with her full equipment at least) and supposedly ruining the competitive balance. It came from how she could work in environments, and/or against enemies, that didn't particularly favor her (such as against a PSY or attribute-less enemy, or in environments that don't strengthen PSY characters or lightning attacks) and could still score relatively high compared to characters that the particular stage favored.
** Dea Anchora was hated for similar reasons, utterly outperforming every other fire valkyrie and making any fire-vulnerable boss a breeze without much effort, but with the added grief of being released as the same time as Herrscher of the Rimestar, a psy-type ice boss that "coincidentally" was a perfect match for DA. This was seen as an overly blatant attempt to force DA into the meta by fans; it doesn't help that Durandal isn't a particularly popular character to begin with.

* LowTierLetdown:
** The B-ranked battle suits (with the exception of Valkyrie Chariot) are generally seen as useless for any sort of end-game content. While they can get the player through any story content just fine, they're just too lacking in DPS or support capabilities to be of much help in Abyss or Memorial Arena, even with gacha gear. Though this is likely intentional, as they are the starting Valkyries, with players being intended to move on to more powerful Valkyries as they progress through the game.
** Kallen's Sundenjaeger battlesuit is generally regarded as one of the weakest in the game. While she isn't a bad Valkyrie in and of herself, she's just too awkward to build many viable teams with her, due to the fact that [[MasterOfNone she only has subpar support skills and DPS abilities]]. Her playstyle of sustained DPS on the field also doesn't fit well within the "burst damage" meta of the game, where Valkyries are rapidly switched in and out to gather/apply debuffs, use party buffs, use [=QTEs=], and inflict huge bursts of damage. However, with the introduction of Starlit Astrologos and her ability to support even while off the field, Sudenjaeger has been buffed quite a bit, with it finally being possible to build teams around her, although it is doubtful she will ever be considered a meta Valkyrie.
** Bronya's Dimension Breaker battlesuit, despite being S-rank, is considered the one Bronya battlesuit that doesn't have a single useful ability in the current meta[[note]]she was valuable in the older versions of the game, but the game's later environments made her capabilities undesirable[[/note]]. Her DPS potential is nonexistent and her main support abilities consist in inflicting the "time lock" debuff on enemies, which most bosses are immune to anyway. Even her leader skills (accelerating SP regeneration and buffing the total damage of all-mech teams) are better handled by more polyvalent Valkyries or equipment. As such, most players see her as the one S battlesuit you ''don't'' want to get in the dorm supply.
