Traps in the Builder Base operate the same way as traps in the War Base, except that they're not active when being upgraded.

* TheMole: ** Mountain Golems in the Clan Capital take it a step further. They have thousands of health, have powerful attacks will destroy most buildings in a few hits, and a special ability that lets them instakill any wall merely by touching it, but they are incredibly slow, with their attacks taking an entire four seconds to initiate, and their movement speed is so slow that they make the aforementioned P.E.K.K.A look fast.

Added DiffLines:

** Compared to the other Hero units, the Grand Warden is the most difficult to use optimally, due to his unorthodox pathing (preferring following large groups of troops instead of a set path) and his ''Eternal Tome'' ability, granting everyone in his Life Aura radius temporary ''invincibility'' for up to 9 seconds at max level. The difficult part is knowing when precisely to use said ability; too early and it can be detrimental once you go deeper into the base, where the stronger defenses lie, and using it too late means too many troops might die before it can save them. Proper usage is the difference between a 1 star and a 3 star, in higher levels.
** The Invisibility Spell is a very tricky spell to use, granting everything in the spell area invisibility, preventing them from being targeted... key word being ''[[ExactWords everything]]'', meaning allied troops and enemy buildings, alike, are affected. Misusing the spell could potentially ruin funneling or troop pathing. As well, in the ubiquitous Super Archer/Wizard Blimp attacks, proper usage requires absolute precision placement and timing so your troops don't die immediately in the heart of the base. Proper usage ensures practically immortal troops and, with some ingenuity, can influence troop pathing on a dime to ensure they go where they need to.
*** Relatedly, one of the strongest niche attacks is the so-called "Skelly Donut", utilizing both Invisibility and Skeleton Spells to effectively target and destroy ''any'' building with impunity. However, pulling this off is no easy feat, as Invisibility spells need to be positioned ''just'' close enough to cover the Skeleton troops, but ''just'' far enough to not affect the targeted buildings. Failure to place and time your invis spells will spell disaster for your skeletons. Proper usage, however, will allow you to take out any high-priority buildings, such as the Eagle Artilleries, Monoliths and Clan Castles, making the followup attack much easier.

Added DiffLines:

** When you unlock the Hog Riders, they will help you breeze past the early game. Their ability to bypass walls means they can conserve housing space by training zero or fewer Wall Breakers for other more useful troops. They also target defenses, which is useful since they'll prioritize everything that can kill them. Filling your camps with Hog Riders is also a viable early game composition with Spell support. Its only downside is that you have no air coverage, but Hog Riders are fast enough to outrun flying Clan Castle Troops.
** Goblins are tricky, but are highly effective for your early game farming. They take up the same amount of space as Barbarians and Archers and hit just as hard as Giants. Since they focus on Resources, sending a swarm of them ensures that you're never leaving empty-handed. Resources make up a big portion of a village and also include the ''Town Hall'', so with a little help from Giants it's easy to earn 2-3 stars. While they gradually lose effectiveness as you gain better troops, they'll help you quickly earn everything from Trophies to Resources in the early game.

* PercentDamageAttack
** Earthquake Spells deal a certain percentage of a building or wall's health as damage. However, Earthquake Spells that hit buildings or walls that were already damaged by a prior Earthquake Spell will take decreasing or increasing damage respectively.
** Monoliths in addition to high base damage will also shave off a fixed percent (14-15%) amount of a unit's HP, making them EXTREMELY deadly against high health targets. In fact this lets them kill several troops quicker than a single target Inferno Tower! There's a reason why Creator/{{Supercell}} called this thing a "Hero Killer"!

*** The Super Giant has increased strength which allows him to deal more damage to walls.
*** Sneaky Goblins are not visible to defenses for five seconds after being placed, making them useful for resource raids against resource collectors and storages.
*** Super Wall Breakers use bombs that are guaranteed to explode by the time they die.
*** The Super Wizard's attacks will branch off from the first target it hits and damage that target along with up to nine other nearby targets.
*** Inferno Dragons, the Super version of the Baby Dragon, has an attack that deals more damage the longer it focuses on the same target, like the Inferno Tower. However, it does not have the Baby Dragon's attack and speed bonus from not being near other units.
*** Super Minions are significantly more durable and slower than regular Minions, and Seeking Air Mines will target Super Minions unlike regular Minions. They use firecracker rockets to attack targets, and like the Beta Minion from the Builder Base, the Super Minion's first few attacks are be fired from further away than normal.
*** Super Valkyries drop Rage Spells when destroyed.
*** The Super Witch deploys a single giant skeleton, the Big Boy, instead of several smaller skeletons. Her Big Boy skeletons act more like tanks than damage dealer troops.
*** Ice Hounds are the super version of the Lava Hound, and slow targets down with their attacks. They deploy Ice Pups instead of Ice Hounds upon being destroyed.

** A more straightforward example, however, has a clan member during clan wars "defect" into the enemy clan and afterwards, proceeds to check the Clan Castle, their bases and their traps and afterwards, return to their clan and deliver vital information regarding their enemy. Clan leaders can prevent this by making their clan invite-only so that they can reject any traitors seeking to attain an advantage. This eventually deterred by only allowing Elder or higher non-participants to view the war map where unless the leader doesn't know any better, likely won't promote them just to let them leak information to the enemy.

* LevelGrinding: Building and upgrading takes time and patience, especially for higher level stuff. End-game upgrades require 14 or more days to complete after being started.

Added DiffLines:

** Resource grinding is blocked in the Builder base as there is a limit on how much Gold and Elixir you can gain from raids. You can only get resources from 3 raids at a time every 22 hours, though if you fail to win 3 raids when it resets you'll have to catch up to the previous 3 wins before the timer will count down again. There is no other instantaneous way to gain resources.

Added Money Grinding

Added DiffLines:

* MoneyGrinding:
** Generally, a lot of grinding in the form of raids is required to afford the upgrades of buildings, troops, and spells. Some end-game upgrades require over 16,000,000 Gold or Elixir to even start, and you can only raid up to 1,500,000 of both Gold and Elixir in a single raid. Don't forget that troops cannot be trained instantly unless [[BribingYourWayToVictory you pay up with Gems]], which makes it take even longer.
** Walls require even more severe grinding. While fortunately you can pay for wall upgrades past level 8 with either Gold or Elixir, this isn't saying much when you need millions of either resource to upgrade a single wall segment (out of three hundred at Town Hall 13) at level ten or higher to the next level, specifically six million to upgrade from level 13 to 14.

* {{Unobtainium}}: Dark Elixir is this unless your base is very advanced in producing it. A level 1 Dark Elixir Drill gives ''20'' per hour and upgrading them is very costly, giving an incentive to raid other players for it even after your gold and elixir stores are set.

* YouRequireMoreVespeneGas: Gold and Elixir are resources needed to create and upgrade things. Eventually you can acquire the rare Dark Elixir, which is used in training EliteMooks. (Dark Elixir is available only in the main base.)
* ZergRush: A common tactic among players; create a bunch of cheap troops like Barbarians and/or Archers and unleash them all in a huge wave. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. If you have the elixir and space, you can Zerg rush with more powerful and expensive troops.
