* BeeAfraid: In order to get the cure for Swamp Fever, both Fluttershy and Meadowbrook have to contend with a swarm of aggressive Flash Bees. Twilight and Cattail also make several off-screen attempts at getting the bees' honey, but to no avail.

** Fluttershy comes up with her disguise plan after seeing a male Flash Bee cuddling with Meadowbrook's mask, which resembles the queen bee. Since the role of real-life male bees is to impregnate the queen, this bee's motions suddenly become a lot more suggestive.
** When Twilight suddenly stops flying, Fluttershy bumps her head into Twilight's crotch.

** When Fluttershy arrives at the castle, Twilight is enjoying cooking with Spike, much to her surprise.

* DarkerAndEdgier: At the beginning of the episode, we see Zecora swinging from a tree covered in orange-and-blue flowers while trying to retrieve moss from a swamp. We later learn that those afflicted with swamp-fever [[AndIMustScream are turned into the very tree that drops the disease-spreading flower.]] That's right, in the very first scene of the episode, we see a character swinging from the mutated body of a pony (or other animal) that came down with swamp fever and didn't get cured.
** The end-result of swamp fever itself is one of the darkest things to come out of the show thus far. If the afflicted pony doesn't die during the transformation process, then it's AFateWorseThanDeath if there ever was one.
