** Jeff suggests the believed reaction to Britta's declaration of love in the first season finale is karma for Britta embarrassing him by publically putting him on the spot rather than do it in privately. Britta suggests the same thing in regards to Jeff just walking away, after she's started playing up the wounded woman role.
