* ''LightNovel/DirtyPair'' has Kei, who makes up the {{tomboy}} half of the LovelyAngels and is known for her hair-trigger temper and her itchier trigger finger.

* Nami from ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'', who encompasses most of the cliches that go with it. Hot tempered, passionate about what she does, outgoing, and fiery...the only thing is that, she's not ''nearly'' as violent as {{Tsundere}} Kaname and, more often than not, actually ''tries'' to be gentle and nice around Sousuke, the guy she likes.
** That might have something to do with the fact that, in the original novels, she ''doesn't'' have red hair -- her hair is described as "brown and unkempt". The red version was strictly the illustrator's fault. Then again, in the novels, Kaname doesn't have blue hair, either...

* ''LightNovel/HighSchoolDXD'': Subverted with Rias Gremory. Normally, she's overall rather level-headed and seldom raises her voice even when she's serious. She does, however, bring this out [[ClingyJealousGirl when it comes with Issei]], but even then she does grow out of it to an extent later in the series.

* ''Literature/TrinityBlood'': Astaroth Aslan ''used'' to be a redhead when she was young (a traumatic event turned it gray/white, all but a streak). Esther Blanchett also fits, especially in the manga. She has more a grounded personality in the novels.

As a character defined by her pride and emotions, Asuka's red hair and blue eyes were chosen to contrast the blue hair and red eyes of TheStoic ShyBlueHairedGirl [[ReiAyanamiExpy Rei Ayanami]], resulting in a perfect hair-color-coded RedOniBlueOni dynamic.

[[{{Irony}} Ironically]], [[WaterIsWomanly she specializes in Water-type Pokémon.]] According to the Fortune Telling book in the episode "The Fortune Hunters", she's listed as a Gyarados type, a Water-type Pokémon infamous for having a ferocious temperament.

* The titular character from ''Anime/{{Aggretsuko}}'' is a red panda office lady who keeps a cute and proper appearance but secretly ''seethes'' with anger, and in the original shorts, it doesn't take much to set her off. Even her name literally means "fiery child".

Despite having the outward appearance of a StockShonenHero, including deep red hair, IdiotHair, and a scar running across one eye, he's meek and shy until he's pushed. Even after a confidence boost from a month of TrainingFromHell to [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower catch up with his superhumanly talented]] in-laws, he's still fairly dour and even-tempered unless Mutsumi is in danger, after which he drops everything to kick the ass of anyone who'd put her in danger.

It's this apparent contradiction - the calmness and intensity at the same time - that makes him seem like such a badass, and makes so many people want to follow him as his Clansmen.
