* AdaptationalWimp: In the books, Wallace devolves mild psychic powers after being trained by his boyfriend Mobile. Wallace is also something of a Yoda to Scott, teaching him to fight. Additionally, his skill with computers -- his job is either an IT consultant or otherwise related to computers -- is fairly useful in series, even though he proves a sorry excuse for a hacker. In fact, (spoilers for Vol 6 of novels) [spoiler: Wallace is the one who finds Gideon's location using the internet and is able to "sense" Gideon's evil strongly enough that he warns Scott that even after Scott and Ramona appear to have broken up, that Scott will have to face Gideon]. In the movie, Wallace is a normal human and his interest in and skill with computers was cut for being irrelevant to the plot.
