* AdaptationalBadass: In the children's books, all he does is screw up in the most stupdendous way possible. The films not only make him responsible enough to at least do most of the clean up, but he even learns real martial arts over the course of the trilogy.

* NamedByTheAdaptation: Larry was the only name revealed in the books. His full name is shown as "Lawrence Larry Daley" in the movie.

* ActionGirl: Sacagawea, despite not having as much screentime or dialogue as some of the other exhibits, is helpful to Larry in all three movies (as a tracker in the first and third, as a fighter in the final battle in the second, and in helping Larry plan an important event in the beginning of the third).

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: As the tablet corrodes during the third movie Attila shows extreme bouts of panic, to the point where Larry has to talk sense into him.

* YouNoTakeCandle: He talks inbroken English, referring to anyone as "dum-dum" and always asking for "gum-gum" as food.

* AdaptationalBadass: The original books don't show him doing anything impressive. Here he's shown proficient in combat and having lived through a dangerous storm in Egypt.
* AdaptationalVillainy: The original nightguard never intended to steal from the museum and is content with his life. Cecil is aware he is about to be laid off so he orchestrates the film's plot to lay the blame of Larry while he and his partners attempt to steal the tablet (to gain eternal life and rejuvenation) and sell off all the museum's other golden artifacts to be set for life.
* AffablyEvil: Cecil is actually rather friendly. [[spoiler: Him and the other night-guards being fired is what leads them to the idea of stealing the tablet. And while they *do* plan to use Larry as their scapegoat, they never consider harming his son. At one point, he even yells at Sacagawea to get out of his way, when he escapes with the stage-coach]]. The third movie shows that afterwards, he remains on good terms with Larry.

Apparently his people used to call him "Kahmunrah The Bloodthirsty Who Kills Whoever Doesn't Give Kahmunrah Exactly What He Wants In The Moment That He Wants It", which makes him sound like a bratty ten-year old in the body of a grown man.

* TheUnfavorite: According to himself his parents preferred Ahkmenrah over him, even giving his younger brother the throne. The third movie seems to confirm this, as their father never evenmentions Kahmunrah and specifically had the tablet made after Ahkmenrah's birth, because Merenkhare couldn't bear to lose him.

* MundaneMadeAwesome: He claims he rode on a squirrel, the most fearsome beast on Earth.

* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Jedediah's red. Very tactical, less angry and actually had a strategy when attacking Larry in the first film

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: With the woman that Larry meets at the end of the second film that looks suspiciously similar to her (and they are portrayed by Adams too). Amelia is energetic, tomboyish and wears aviator clothes; whereas the museum visitor is much more calm and wears much more femenine clothes.

* IJustWantToBeBadass: Behind that ridiculeness is an insecure man known for his historical failure rather than a good leader. Larry cheers him up in the final battle against Kahmunrah.
* LargeHam: Bombtastic as he is, his hamminess only serves not to take him seriously.

* MyGreatestFailure: He confesses to Larry during the final battle that he didn’t like how his real version died- rightfully so, too, seeing as how his real version lead an army into a Native American massacre and died with his men.

* DragonWithAnAgenda: He cooperates with Kahmunrah for his own purposes. The sole idea that he is a TheDragon for Kahmunrah bothers him.

* HotBlooded: Always rearing for a fight and it's not hard to set him off.
* IHatePastMe: A subversion, a deleted scene shows that he hates his future self. Mainly because he thinks he's above getting arrested for something like tax evasion, and he resents the weight he gains after aging. Then it's played straight when the mugshots of future Al Capone say that young Al Capone is a "funny looking kid" and calls him a punk.

* OnlySaneMan: Not as quirky as Kahmunrah, Ivan, or Napoleon. Not to say that they others don't fulfill their roles, Capone is just the more serious of them. However, this is thoroughly averted in a deleted scene where he (and his men) apparently think that his fake tommy gun fires real bullets, despite the fact that obviously nothing happens when he 'fires' it.

* DragonWithAnAgenda: He cooperates with Kahmunrah for his own purposes. The sole idea that he, along with [[CoDragons Capone and Napoleon]], is a TheDragon for Kahmunrah bothers him.
