Before the series started, Maki dismissed her because this behavior creeped her out, but she returns to her original position when Enomoto becomes Vice President. She's also the only member of the student council to be in a relationship with a guy, a fact which they have to keep secret from Fujisaki's staff.

A second-year student at Fujisaki Girls Academy, and an unbelievably competent StudentCouncilPresident, who is capable of taking up all the responsibilities of the entire Student Council by herself. However, her cool, competent demeanor quickly disappears when you realize that she's a ''huge'' CloudCuckooLander that is obsessed with an [[ThinksLikeARomanceNovel idealistic understanding of romance]]. She even has a body pillow with a caricature of her "ideal love interest" on it named "Huggy" (Dakkii in Japanese), which she uses to practice kissing.

* InsaneTrollLogic: Owing to her CloudCuckooLander status, Maki's wacky conclusions in supposedly perfect courting situations lead to some very fatal errors, such as exaggerating the melodrama of a young relationship situation between two lovers, [[AmusingInjuries dislocating Riko's fingers]] in a practice of [[IntertwinedFingers holding hands]], simulating CrashIntoHello at break-neck speed, and improving one's attractiveness by exposing one's nape rather than making an ExpositoryHairstyleChange.

* ParodySue: As a CloudCuckooLander [[TheAce Ace Student]], she's overly competent in all academic issues, but is exaggeratedly terrible at her love life.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: As much of a JerkAss she can be at times, she does have moments where she's nice and does things without an ulterior motive, such as when Maki's love lab notes were accidentally distributed at a student council meeting. Sayo claims that said notes were research for a question given to them anonymously by a student, and they all accept that excuse, since they're unaware of Maki's CloudCuckooLander tendencies.

** Though note that they find him "cute like a girl," which does not necessarily translate to physical attraction. In fact, it is BECAUSE Riko find him to be cute like a girl that she didn't even considered him a guy, leading to her completely missing his confession. Riko also states that all the guys that she has had one-sided crushes on were due to the fact that she found their masculine traits attractive.
