* TheRedBaron: He is Robin, the Boy Wonder, and it gets mentioned. He was the first modern sidekick, and an inspiration to many people, and together with Wonder Girl they formed the Wonder Twins for a while.

* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Subverted. In the original comics, Wally’s parents were abusive, while he is shown to have a happy home life in the Tv show. In this story, it’s revealed that his father was an abusive drunk in Wally’s childhood… until [[RealityEnsues his parents got marriage counseling and his dad went cold turkey on alcohol.]] Wally has made his peace with this, and they care deeply for each other.

* DrillSergeantNasty: Usually Ferris is very polite, but during her brief stint as TheLeader in India she is far more verbally aggressive and abrasive than usual. It’s a JustifiedTrope because everyone feels miserable after surviving yesterday’s attack, and the petty infighting some of them are directing against Aqualad (even after he steps down) risks the success of the mission, so she demands that they stop it.

** Justified. It’s mentioned that she’s survived seven assassination attempts.

* BiTheWay: He had it bad for Tula, but also nursed an enduring crush on Roy. Unfortunately, Tula picked Garth over him and Roy is very much straight.

* BiTheWay: Admits to Zatanna that she’s had ‘‘dreams’’ about Black Canary.

* TheGhost: She hasn’t been directly involved in Light activities on-screen.
* WeakButSkilled: Implied to be weaker than Klarion, but SanityHasAdvantages.

* TheGhost: We only know he exists because of one scene in the beginning of Season 2.

Nearly suffers a BrownNote in Bialya when an unknown agent sneaks within feet of his back while carrying an unconscious Aqualad. [[spoiler: It’s Ferris, and Aqualad was unconscious from the heat, not injuries.]]

* ActionGirl: It’s pointed out that this Artemis technically has more and more diverse combat training than Robin does; it’s largely her non-lethal limits that keep her from matching him.
