This Hades, by comparison, seeks to kill humanity and harvest their souls for his realm.

* AdaptationalBadass: While Medusa was hardly a pushover in Myth/ClassicalMythology, she wasn't a deity, let alone the cosmic-level threat she is here. In reaity, she was just a beautiful maiden who was cursed into her more recognizable form by Athena as punishment for laying with Poseidon.

* TheTrickster: Her idol says that she loves trickery, and her entire labyrinth with its [[EldritchLocation twists and turns]] definitely shows she has a thing for psyching people out.

* DiabolicalMastermind: Orchestrated the entire plot of the game. While he does hold the title of "lord", he is breaking the laws of the gods, so he's still technically a criminal, and initially works through fall gal.

* SheIsTheKing: Her title is "Dark Lord", adding to the above surprise.

* AffablyEvil: She's a colossal bitch most of the time, but she can get along with others sometimes. See FriendlyEnemy below.

* BigDamnHeroes: Pulls this off in Chapter 17 where she out of nowhere commands two of her Nutskis to stop Pit's fall by carrying a small-sized chunk of rock for him to land on. Pit tries to ask Viridi for her reason for doing so but she cuts him off and tells him to be ready to fight the Aurum. Her rescue in Chapter 17 is possibly [[{{Foreshadowing}} hinted at]] by her choice of words in Chapter 16 where she tells Pit that she's not here to ''help'' him but that keeping him alive is in her best interests (or view) for now. This is actually quite relevant as her actions as a result of Chapter 16 show up as trivial later on.
** Chapter 17 has her save Pit as the above mentions. At this point, only Pit has the natural fighting instincts backed by being pretty smart which helps avoid situations where the 'brainless' mooks such as the Centurions, Underworld Forces and Forces of Nature main bulk would fail to even have a chance. By now, Pit is the only being present who has the best chances of winning so Viridi wasn't really lying when she was keeping Pit safe in Chapter 16.

** She claims that humans are selfish and destructive and that she must destroy them before they do further harm to the earth. [[JerkassHasAPoint While technically she has a point]], her actions are just as destructive, if not more so.

** Eggplant Wizards were frequently encountered in pairs during the first game, but in the [=3DS=] game they are usually solitary. This is also made up for, slightly, by the fact the wizards now move much faster, more actively target Pit, and can ''jump''.

* EliteMook: In the first game's non fortress levels. They take more hits to defeat than anything else around and fill the air with additional enemies until dealt with while actively ramming Pit, although they can be avoided. Still serve this role for the underworld forces in the [=3DS=] game, although downplayed their, as they can be found in the same areas as the wizards, players also have to worry about the even tougher clubberskulls and mimicuties and they can be more easily avoided.

* OrcusOnHisThrone: Subverted, [[Irony which is rather hilarious considering his name.]]

* {{Foil}}: To Palutena. Both characters help Pit out during the game and both possess similar powers, but their stances on humans are polar opposites of each other. Palutena is aware that humans are flawed, but believe that they have the potential to grow, learn, and change, while Viridi believes that humans are inherently evil and destructive and incapable of change.

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Viridi hates humans and wants them [[KillAllHumans wiped out]], but she's a WellIntentionedExtremist who does it to save nature, making her this against Medusa's [[{{Revenge}} vengeance-driven goals against humanity and Palutena]], Hades' gluttony for souls and power, the Chaos Kin's [[GenericDoomsdayVillain destruction for destruction's sake]], and the Aurum's [[HordeOfAlienLocusts desire to strip the entire planet of life]].
